Metal Gear Solid

the first crackdown

>band from the shittiest genre of music comes up and release not only listenable hiphop but it's also good.

I'd say Burnout, racing games are utter shit but Burnout was fantastic.

>balding musicians
If you're bald, don't join a band.

IDK but Devil May Cry is New Order

probably something lame like the outer worlds

Cyberpunk 2077, obviously.

Aggressive and experimental, bordering on incoherent noise?
Gotta be Kingdom Hearts

Fill me in, is this a good or bad thing and why?

Depends on if you like Death Grips

...

Tetris

Both are pretty good in their original forms, but people remixing them makes even better stuff.

What is Green Day of video games?

Medal of Honor

Radical Heights
Aliens: Colonial Marines

why cant green day just die a dignified death

i love them as a teen and their stuff after mid 2000s just hurts

Metal Gear Solid

Started out strong, great, maybe even the best, had some trouble with later releases ( MGS 4 and Green Day's trilogy ) but the latest release is brilliant even though it differs a lot from other entries in the franchise.

Overall pretty great.

What's the smash mouth of videogames?

you have to go back

if pre RE4 resident evil is Joy Division, then DMC would be New Order as it kept a similar tone initially then became way more fun and different after a while. RE4 is like if Ian Curtis came back to life while the rest of the band was still into dance shit

Maybe don't join a boy band

Is this supposed to be hating or liking them?
All MoH games are good.

Silent Hill 2

>Only good if you listened to them as a teen
Kingdom Hearts

Resident Evil

Same reasons as

Your opinion man, at least listen to some tracks I guess.

I loved their older stuff, liked American Idiot, mixed on that one forgot it's name ( breakdown or something ), hated the uno dos tre thing and I like Revolution Radio ( latest )

It's more like punk with aggressive rapping than hiphop

i havent listened to green day in like 5 years.

honestly, it's just plain weird to be a alt/punkrock/whatever band past 2010, and even weirder that it's being sung by guys that are 40-50 years old.

i'm also a little embarrassed because i used to be obsessed with american idiot, which some of my classmates back in 2006/2007 gave me a bootlegged cd at the time. i think i still have it, along with blink 182. i used to listen to that shit every goddamn day for years. i still have my ipod nano with all of greenday albums up to american idiot.

green day and its music genre is sort of like old game genres being made in the current year, it's obviously old and suspiciously banking on nostalgia.

.hack//g.u. trilogy

Dark Souls
Halo
Gex

Now what would be the Grim Fandango of bands?

Your opinion user but you should at least give this single from the latest album a listen.
You'll see what I'm talking about, it's different than the rest.
This whole album is more alt than punk

youtube.com/watch?v=MfoIWfe2UHA

Nu punk?

eh... it's not good

their last good album was american idiot, and everything they've done since then seems to be an attempt to recapture that, to varying levels of success (21st was alright but not as good, uno/dos/tres was bad, rev radio was somewhere between the two).

IMO they should do something like what all the 60s-80s bands that are still around are doing: stop releasing new music, and just tour around their older material to aging millennials clinging to anything that will make them feel young again, and wrong-generation zoomers.

Yakuza.

DMC1 is Joy Division, Itsuno DMC3 is New Order

I like it but that's probably because I'm a massive Nirvana fan and this sounds like Territorial Pissings.

Honestly they kinda fucked themselves over, their music is fast and punk, you can't except 50 year old boomers to jump around fast yelling anarchist shit and singing about weed and masturbation.

Jet Set Radio Future

Kingdom Come Deliverance
Self-indulgent garbage loved exclusively by navel-gazing idiots convinced they have impeccable taste

it's ok, a step up from 21-st century breakdown but it's not great and it just cant compare to their past stuff, which was iconic. i don't know what you mean by different from the rest. the rest of their stuff? rest of alt/punk?

all i know is, when i hear green day nowadays, i'm sharply reminded of literal boomer babies that buy tickets to bruce springsteen at madison square garden. i do have nostalgia for green day, but their music these days cant give me that same feeling as back in 2008, and at worst i feel like they've sold out to play on those feelings.

A game loved by retards?
This one.

I'd say Dark Souls. They are both entry level stuff for both Yea Forums and Yea Forums and still relatively up there quality-wise

Death Grips are literally Fortnite the band

UNDERSTAND UNDERSTAND
THE CONCEPT OF CONCEPT
OF LOVE

black people don't like death grips

What's the Gordon Lightfoot of games?

this

Attached: 1546666303542.jpg (989x1299, 315K)

Oregon Trail or some shit

>you can't except 50 year old boomers to jump around fast yelling anarchist shit and singing about weed and masturbation.

they could, and it would be weird.

r&b jazz and disco and swing and all the other genres had their own distinct associations with periods of time with nothing really notable made beyond them. punk rock in 2010s just feels out of place.

Assassins Creed 3
youtube.com/watch?v=9vST6hVRj2A

>neat music but praised to high hell with an obnoxious fanbase
Titanfall

I mean black flag

theyre great once you get used to it

>punk rock in 2010s just feels out of place

I think it's just pop punk that sounds out of place in the 2010s. Too optimistic sounding for the times we live in, even though the lyrics may not be. There's been a bit of a resurgence in new bands doing the 90s hardcore style, and they sound great (code orange, seeyouspacecowboy, and vein are a few of my favorites).

Then again that might just be because hardcore was never that popular ever, so it isn't as easily associated with any particular time period the way pop punk instantly makes people think of the late 90s and early 2000s.

They're the ultimate depression band, just read some of their lyrics. Most of their fanbase is underage and only likes them for the memes though

Not that user but.

I think that's because punk rock never had actually THAT much musically skilled bands, so all everyone thinks of when they hear punk is bunch of savages.
I'd like to see punk make a comeback.

My favorites are Descendents, they are just the first thing I think of when I hear punk.

Misfits is hardoce punk rock
Descendents / Ramones classing punk rock
Green Day is more on the softer side but still punk ROCK
Sum 41 is harder POP punk
Blink is pop punk
