Yes, some pots contain an item, and conversely some pots contain baddy bad stuff that damages you, and some pots damage you until you break them!

Oh, not to worry friend. I just genuinely curious about Dark Souls, I haven't played much of it myself but I heard that it is popular due to its unconventional means.
