How do you feel about Toadette suddenly becoming this big important core Mario character?

Do you think she deserves it more then Daisy or Waluigi?

She fills a niche, and that niche is being a female playable character without significant renown.
And like what said, better to have a generic character rather than a character Miyamoto was so butthurt about that he tried and succeeded to reduce her status into something semi-generic like Daisy.

Does anyone have that chart that shows how both Sonic and Mario have no idea what to do with their support cast and thus ruins them?

I don't mind her, but yeah, girl Toad. It's about as original as it gets and gets the pass for being cute. But I can't say the same for "Peach except it's tomboy" and "Wario except it's Luigi's counter part". But meh, Nintendo's originality.

As long they don't turn the Toad voice into 11 amp, I'm fine. Their voice can be kinda annoying. At least hers is a bit softer, even if more high-pitched.

Why is Nintendo so obsessed with the idea of making a modified mook an important character?

What mook will become a real character next? Captain Bokoblin? Fedora Red Pikmin?

You mean Rosalina? I'm not sure if Miyamoto's all that butthurt, but he definitely feels like the kind of guy that prefers having a leash/some kind of control and/or development involvement with an actual character. Rosalina might not feel as special to him simply due to the fact he didn't create or helped create her, I think. It's another story when Miyamoto's involved though and he might try his best to help promote the character. Given his style of how he wants the franchise to be, but still allowing fresh blood, I assume he's best/relates best with light-hearted passionate characters.

Shiggy went on regard to say that he was pissed that the team snuck in Rosa's backstory without his consent in Galaxy 1. That's part of the reason why it was retconned and Rosalina got turned into yet another "WAHOO YIPEE" Peach recolor

She is my main in Mario Kart, so I am glad she is getting more attention. I'm considering picking up New Mario Deluxe for her since I skipped it on the WiiU, but I don't like the idea of paying $60 for a port of an old game.

I'd do it. NSMB games get a bad rep for being lazy rehashes but on it's own NSMBUD is a fantastic traditional Mario platformer and it has like 200 stages with all the DLC bundled in.

Yep, pretty much. She's still important though, as she's still... a important entity of sorts (not a god god, but she still watches over the universe and shit), but her best days have definitely gone by, as has Waluigi and Daisy, who I believe have also not been created by Shigeru. But if a character happens to be created with Shigeru on the realms or at the very least involved, it will be a very blessed character indeed. Even a character that might've been awkwardly put together, but might've been revised by Shigeru concept wise might luck it out.

Literally the only reason she exists is so Toad could have a partner in Double Dash

I'm sure it would be worth it from the perspective of content, but my reason for not doing it is . I still have my Wii U and I could get the original for under $30, so this would be paying more than twice as much just to play as a character I like. I don't think I can bring myself to do that.

Spinoff characters NEVER get promoted to the main games. Waluigi and Daisy have been around for roughly 20 years and Daisy has only appeared in a proper Mario game ONCE. So Toadette, a character created for Mario Kart, suddenly appearing in almost every single release is a huge shock. Especially playable roles

I thought the Toadette we use in Double Dash is the same Toadette throughout all her appearances. Going off of Mario Party they refer to the playable Toadette as a Superstar because of all her accomplishments. If they wanted multiple generic Toadettes they'd probably use a different color like the Blue and Yellow Toads.
