No, it could work for actual anime. It's a lot of effort though and most anime studios don't actually have enough 3D experience for it, is presumably the issue

Arcsys has a GDC talk about it, they don't actually use any special solutions, it's off-the-shelf tech used in different ways

It requires manually posing the lighting and model for every frame, so you can do stuff usually only done in 2D animations like being 'off model' like a drawing by squishing, contorting and expanding different body parts and hiding it with the camera angle

From what I understand, it can but it requires a lot of manual corrections after rendering to smooth out the animations to make them look natural at low FPS (emulating traditional animation with squash and stretch, etc). The big reason for bad 3D in anime is that it saves on labor and therefore cost: after the initial investment to make the models, it's not a whole lot of work to animate per frame, compared to the manhours it takes to draw each frame in traditional animation. So you could use it for anime, but the cost would be similar or more than that of traditional animation, nullifying the reason most studios use 3D in the first place.

If you care about esports and minmaxing then most likely you will need to but if you only care about the story and universe then you dont need to at all to experience the story content available.
Next month is one of the best times to start playing if youre new because theyre going to be giving out daily 10-100 rolls a day so you can easily make a bunch of accounts and pick whichever of those gets a good set of characters or ones you like the most.

Despite still having a massive amount of content and grindan to do, the GBF team throws a lot of bones to new players. Sometimes they'll give away free 10 rolls or maxed out weapons and summons for the hell of it, events are easy to level off of and give decent gear to boost new players none of the events that are sequels will make any sense because they never give context and many of the previous events haven't had repeats in a while, and holidays give out a lot of free shit.

GBF usually drains your time more than your wallet unlike other gatchas.

Yuel, Albert, Vampy, DAO, Forte is they ignore GBF's influence.

Also something else to throw out there. GBF has a system where if you do 300 rolls on a single focus then you can straight up pick almost whoever you want. So if you've got self control then save up those crystals and blow your load whenever you have enough to spark. Also if you do spend money then spend money on tickets instead of rolling. Tickets cost as much as a 10 roll so about $30 dollars and you get a 10 roll plus a choice of almost whoever your want. It's much better than spending an unknown amount of money for a chance of maybe getting the character you want. However the strongest characters in the game however can't be gotten this way since you can't roll for them. It doesn't matter how much money you spend the only way to get them is time and effort.

I hope that Cygames gets to do ZoE3, the ZoE2 remaster they did was fucking excellent, and the VR mode while entirely unnecessary and too much for me to handle without vomiting, was very well done and added a whole new dimension to an already excellent game. I dont know who at Cygames convinced Konami to let them make a ZoE game but I’d assume Cygames funded it themselves given Konami’s current state.

Racing relies entirely on connection, which is why HL GBF fans treat skills as incurable cancer. A lot of end game GBF bosses are more about knowing what they'll do and having the proper answer to it. And obviously the grid and team composition to do the content.

Also end-game GBF bosses are starting to be intentionally built to not be raced. No incentive like flips or blue chest, just a guaranteed rewards, even if gradual and requiring you to run the content a lot to get what you want. Wish most content was like that.

Refreshing is mainly for racing and e-sports. If you just want to be able to clear endgame raids then you don't necessarily have to.

There was an old interview back when the first gameplay video was released (the one with Kat, Eugen, Io and Perci) that the story will be about the rest of the crew finding a way to heal MC after he gets heavily injured during the story intro.
The latest gameplay video is still showing the intro, but since they already programmed in MC as a playable character he might return later into the story as a playable character, if they still kept the original story anyway.

Guilty Gear/SoulCalibur mainly and yes character loyalty always plays the major role. I’ve played Raphael since sc2 for god sakes and he only got good in 6. I only started playing Granblue because of the versus announcement but I will admit that the characters I ended up rolling did have influence on who I would pick. One of my first rolls I got Metera and I knew she was going to be in versus so I was thinking to trying her out when the game finally did come out. That changed when I got Black Knight in January and she was the one I wanted to play the most when I was just looking at the characters with no context so I still get the imaginary gacha skill bonus when I end up maining her in versus if she’s playable.

But yes I usually if i resonate with a characters design and personality I’ll be quick to pick them to play as. Only rarely do their playstyle or tier list if they might as well be joke tier make me not play them. Like Nine from Blazblue, loved her design but damn was she awkward to play as and I never enjoyed it.

The main story isn't finished and there's no definite timeline on when side stories/events happen or even fates for that matter, aside from whether or not muh erste empire is still evil, in which case you can slot it whenever or chalk it up as a detour/break during the main story or something.
There are a few that have continuity though, like some side stories needing you to complete up to a certain chapter because the location it takes place in isn't reached until said chapter.

start an account through game.granbluefantasy.jp

finish up the pinboard quests to get a ticket for a guaranteed ssr character (small pool for that ticket). progress through the chapters to unlock "omega" raids and grind those out for weapons, look up the wiki for which one's you should for

ideally start your account toward the end of this month, as it'll have access to larger pool of characters, some of which are the best in the game. later on if you want to throw a little cash at the game, you'll have the chance to buy a beginner ticket with those characters available. they won't be if you start at a time of the month where they aren't available in-game when you register

everything else is just stuff you take as it comes. you can focus on side-stories, you can focus on 1 element or all, up to how much you like the game
