What is the appeal of the dragon quest series?
What is the appeal of the dragon quest series?
The charm and simplicity of it
Simple charm
I dunno man, but it's fucking OoS everywhere in the UK atm.
Elegant game design married with strong fairytale like storytelling. Charming characters designed by one of the world's most famous and beloved cartoonists.
It's a jrpg that isn't final fantasy so I can be contrarian and enjoy it
a "if it ain't broken don't fix it" aproach to the Turn Based JRPG style while still adding enough stuff into the mix so each game feels like a different experience
though it is not for everyone as nowadays Turn Based is mroe of an acquired taste rather than the norm
You just posted it.
Vernonica is cute, funny, sexy and the best girl.
Cute waifus
And cute lolis
Good girls and SOUL
I've been thinking about playing the DS version of DQV. I'm also a brainlet. Am I going to need a walkthrough to play the game?
Motherfuckin comfiest JRPGs I ever played
Dragon Quest is that warm cozy feeling you have when you lay down in bed in a atmospheric rainy autumn day.
You don't need a guide to play any DQ game unless you are looking for miss able things
>one of the most, if not the most, successful JRPG series of all time
>contrarian
every time i come here i get angry at you retards
>final fantasy
Sho nuff. Story sucks, gameplay sucks, designs suck, takes itself too seriously...
It disgusts me that FF took off in the US but DQ didn't
>spinoff translations never
DQ and FF are textbook JRPGS, But where as FF drifted off and now tries to reinvent the wheel with every outing, DQ has preserved the turn based JRPG wholesomeness.
It doesn't fuck everything up constantly like Final Fantasy.
ff is more exotic and english speakers can pretend the writing was good in the original japanese
It fills the classic JRPG romp.
It's traditional which is japs and therefore weebs are all about.
would that this were true, imagine if persona and dq swapped popularity in the west
The perfect example of tried and true.
Will I be able to marry this cutie in the definitive edition?
I've never played a DQ game. What should I play/where should I start?
play drag on quest 11 or 8 or 5
it seems incredibly generic and Ive played a ton of JRPGs, I really do want to fuck this character so I might play one someday
they're cute and funny!
Consistency.
If you liked one DQ game you're probably always going to find something to like in another DQ game. Unlike FF where if you liked the varied cast of characters in FF6, fuck you its a series about boy bands now.
he's very clearly talking about popularity among english speakers, you know the people who browse this site. sure it's the biggest thing in japan, but it's a minor series in the west that barely sells more than the tales games
big buff monsters
