All you need to know is this was the first game Wario was in.
Also the bunny ears, and the Mario Zone was great.

I mean, it's better than the first Mario Land. Which isn't saying much.

It's piss easy and takes about 3 hours to finish. It was fun, but far too easy and far too short.

SML2, Dr. Mario, SMB in the arcade, and Wario Land were a massive chunk of my childhood. I would love nothing more than for them to make Mario games with the same style of weirdness again.

Absolute kino

I enjoyed it as a kid, and it certainly is a good game. At the time, it was one of the best portable games bar-none. The platforming isn't that spectacular or interesting in retrospect, though. The theming on worlds and art direction in spots felt fresh, but there are so many other things that just made it feel like an inferior version of SMB3/SMW mixed with SML. Most of the music was shit, too, outside the athletic theme and Wario's castle.

Now, if we're talking pic related, this is peak OG Game Boy right up there with Donkey Kong '94. Literally fucking perfect.

I remember finding the glitch room in one of the train levels as a kid, and thinking it was some massive secret. I spent hours in it trying to figure out what I had to do since at the time, the concept of a glitch didn't really register with me.

Fucking perfect taste. DK and Wario are ten times more fun than Mario when it comes to platforming. The fact that their games don't even need Mario and his friends to stand on their own two feet is a testament to the quality of their series.
