Can we talk about BotW? I only played the game recently and missed all the discussion.
How did you like it among Zelda games? There are some parts of this game that I really liked but it was really surprisingly disappointing how:
1, short it is for an open world game 2, it has no big dungeons or epic boss fights in the entire main game and 3, how boring the shrines are (the only one remotely memorable was the maze one).
I liked the storytelling, atmosphere and the exploration/cooking aspects of it. But can't say this is the best Zelda or anything. It feels like it has a good skeleton but no meat in it at all.
It does have one of the best Zeldas of all time though.
I don't know how you could have missed the game being constantly shitposted about for the last 2 years. As for personal opinion, it isn't bad, but is by no means good either and overstays its welcome if you play for more than 10 hours. It's pretty middling for the series.

>I only played the game recently sure thing fag so sick of threads about this shit
Caleb Bailey
It's the first good open world video game. It also has joined ALTTP and OoT as a contender for "greatest video game ever made".
Levi Rivera
>1, short it is for an open world game It took me like 145~ hours or something before I finally did Hyrule Castle. And that was before the DLC.
Nicholas Foster
>2, it has no epic boss fights in the entire main game Did you even play the damn game?
Jaxson Cox
>WHOA, A BLACK HUMANOID MASS WITH MACHINE ATTACKS AND NO SPECTACLE, SO EPIC
Owen Cruz
Now this is shitposting
Jackson Thompson
>one of the best Zeldas of all time though. Bait.
Jaxon Butler
>It's the first good open world video game. GTA SA was better open world game.
Josiah King
The Divine Beast bosses were just tougher humanoid enemies with 2 short phases and the only thing that's pretty on par with previous boss fights was Ganon, which was about the same as TP Ganon fight. But in TP Ganon wasn't even one of the better bosses.
I suppose you can always sink tons of time into an open world game. But I played between 20-30 hours before not having much motivation to do anything else but to finish it. I got all the memories, master sword etc.
I liked how you get to collect little pieces of memories with her to know her character and progression.
Joseph Evans
>to know her to know her character and progression. Her character sucked and was unlikable.
Carter White
i thought it was a great game 9/10 then after playing it for 10 hours on normal and beating it and most of the shrines i thought it was 8/10 then the DLC came out and it made the game worse in someways since it was all post game with no much good but i liked the boss then i did it on master mode and i think the game is 7/10 weapons breaking is nothing it just breaks the pace of combat when you swap from your one sword to your other and nothing changes i have issue with the lack of enemy types and lack of moves for the weapons since they are 1 handed 2 handed spears and bows the combat is fine but too easy and yes i fought golden lynels in master mode they hit hard but aren't very hard to beat since its flurry rush or arrow to the head and mount
Easton Lopez
Actually prove me wrong instead of complaining.
Adam Sanchez
>But I played between 20-30 hours before not having much motivation to do anything else but to finish it. Did you even do half the shrines? Or all the town quests? But whatever floats your boat I guess.
Xavier Ross
Zelda is consistently the worst girl in her games
Luke Perez
>Or all the town quests? not him but almost every single town quest is just find X items and hand it in for 50 rupees or something as worthless as that
Andrew Jackson
>But I played between 20-30 hours before not having much motivation to do anything else but to finish it. I got all the memories, master sword etc. Did you "play" it as in "using a guide/walkthrough?
Matthew Stewart
i like it. weapon endurance is too weak, though. i think about double the endurance for each weapon would be much better, but i modded it to 5x so i could play the game like its legend of zelda pro skater
William Harris
ive played 20 hours and have barely accomplished anything. ive got like 5 or 6 hearts and 3 stamina vessels. onyl major thing i completed was the zora dungeon. idk how you would beat the game in 10 hours unless at the 9 hour mark you decided to run straight to ganon
Cooper Brooks
Nope but I checked a walkthrough before I went to Hyrule Castle for Ganon because I thought there may be some big chunk of content that I missed by myself or maybe the first time you fight Ganon you are supposed to lose or something. I didn't find all the fairies and I'm sure I missed many shrines. Nothing in the game prevents me from progressing in a major way because you can always climb to most of your destinations and cooking seems completely busted. (I found durians about 10 hours into the game and I just stock up 20 so combat was never an issue).
Yeah I felt the same. Also weird how endurance doesn't affect your attacks.
Gavin Cook
>2, it has no big dungeons or epic boss fights in the entire main game and This was my complaint with the game. Honestly if it had dungeons like any other Zelda it would have been a near perfect game in my opinion. It felt like Zelda 1 realized in a 3D world, but without the dungeons you could stumble upon.
Josiah Robinson
You're asking for trouble, talking about this game here.
Julian Cooper
i went and found as many shrines as i could and rush to the towers so i had a full map at around the 7 1/2 hour mark i went and did the story and those 10 hours include some dicking around after beating ganon the game can be beaten quickly and shrines are not hard to find i don't see how people play the game for so long there isn't that much to de but maybe i just have more experience in open world game since i played some ass creed games and far cry 3
Leo Walker
I'll argue that the game "plays" good, even if there are not epic monsters, killing a simple deer never gets boring.
That being said, I would have liked to explore more places like Hyrule castle. Maybe they should have made the citadel explorable form the inside.
One think I didn't like was the shrines, not the trials themselves, just the exterior in the map. They made the map feel less organic, instead of exploring untamed wilderness the bright orange structures make the game feel more like a eastern egg hunt.
oh and on my master mode save i did 100 or so Shrines and dicked around a lot more and that save is closer too 20 hours
Michael Rodriguez
these are good points, i think if they make a new game in the same engine, that would free up enough development time and resources that they could add a lot of dungeons, and that game would then be at least a 9/10
Lincoln Lewis
like with MM being better then OOT since it has puzzles
Thomas Perez
It's my favorite game of all time but I agree with these:
>2, it has no big dungeons or epic boss fights in the entire main game and
And kind of agree with:
>3, how boring the shrines are (the only one remotely memorable was the maze one).
And I would add the lack of enemy variety.
Sebastian Rivera
>I played between 20-30 hours before not having much motivation to do anything else but to finish it. I got all the memories, master sword etc. Just getting the master sword means finishing like 50 shrines if you never put anything into stamina. So you just happened to find all the memories that you get no clues as to their location while either doing like 5 shrines an hour or doing 2 shrines an hour and not upgrading the stat letting you do things faster while upgrading hearts, which are fucking useless? Low effort bait 2bh
Jacob Barnes
I didn't just happen to find them I spent at least a few hours just looking for them. Also the painter guy tells you where a few are.
You get a heart for each divine beast so the shrines wasn't an issue either. I just had to do all the ones I found and half a dozen more.
