How did a game that literally pandered to Deviantart sonic fanbase flopped so hard? It had character creation and a full-blown edgy antagonist.

His illusions can do damage in battle. I imagine that even if it's a fake sun, bringing an object that size down onto all the furries would be battle-ending if not world ending.

When Silver got kicked in the head by Shadow he just stood up and kept fighting, even using Chaos Control only after seeing Shadow do it once.
Infinite got kicked in the head by Shadow and he had an autistic fit and went back to eggman crying.
Infinite is officially more pathetic than Silver.
Because they still kept the baldy McNosehair body odor jokes from Colors and Lost World instead of actually attempting to tell a story, so fuck all happened the entire game and nobody is allowed to do anything aside from Sonic or your OC, not even Chaos or Shadow (who were some of the main selling points that they were back, even though they didnt even get boss fights.) So the "edge" and OCs drove off classicfags, and then Classic Sonic and the shitty story drove off Modern fans, leaving an underbaked missed opportunity of a product that nobody was happy with.
This is one of the worst things about Forces, they hyped up this game as being a more sinister one with a dark story, and then shat the bed on delivery. In addition to Infinite being a huge letdown, the overall tone and theme of the game was just awful

Eggman wasn't under the Ruby's "control", so he wouldn't be affected by it. That's why he says "What happened?!" whenever he saw everybody cheering, and then looked around until he saw Buddy falling back down.

Forces is a strange beast. It seems like they either tried to have their cake and eat it too by appealing to everyone or it's actually just a couple of different projects that they slapped together to meet a deadline, (Generations 2 and an Avatar game) which would explain how disjointed the whole package feels. I'd be very interested in hearing the full story behind its development since I get Sonic '06 vibes from how undercooked the game feels.

Apparently originally Sonic and Classic Sonic weren't going to be playable, just the Avatar, but they had to slip the Sonics in the game later because SEGA disapproved a Sonic game where Sonic isn't playable.

Before the game came out there was a leak that came out back when the game was called Sonic Wars. I can't find it at the moment but I think it was on Sonic Stadium. But it not only leaked the OC but it said the same thing I said in my post. I'll try to find it if I can.
