>Originally started out development as a generic FPS. >Technically the first ever Source game and a total piece of broken jank >Composer was an ex-con junkie living on a couch in Hollywood. >Published by Activision who had no faith in the project whatsoever. >Developed by a Studio that was already at death's door after all their previous games underperformed. >Released during the same day as Half Life 2 because Valve refused to let their game be second banana. >Also one of the greatest games ever made.
Name a game with more SOUL than this, you simply cannot.
>this entire post Didn't even read it but the game you posted is pretty mediocre.

I'm with this guy. Doesn't feel nice to play at all. Doesn't do anything particularly interesting for me. I'd imagine New Vegas fans are big fans of this. I got the same vibes from that game. It gets rave reviews in spite of the same crap gameplay and I'm just thinking "is this it?"
Combat is a large part of the game, but just maneuvering around the environment feels like shit.

Speaking as a fan of both NV and Bloodlines I agree with your analysis. In those games the story, characters, and atmosphere makes up for the mediocre gameplay.
