Honestly I've struck a pretty good balance at the moment. I don't have a lot of time to play video games but I still really like to do it, meaning that when I'm not busy with hanging out with people, exercising etc I can spend some time playing something and it doesn't feel stale. I'm definitely enjoying vidya more now than when I was a NEET

Videogames are just a medium of expenditures only reflected on the purchasing habits of one individual.
One might spend lots on the most expensive items, which would represent a large savings should they stop doing so. Though where would that money go? Savings? Or another expensive hobby, such as garage engineering?
Another might only scalp at the cheapest, even claiming ownership of the best deals around. They already are saving money by avoiding such ridiculous price points on many interactive media. They are likely happier than the other.
Then there's cunts who really scalp at expensive items to resell them for a grand profit later. They're the richest of the plebian folk.
