Without mentioning Nomura, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XV or Kingdom Hearts 3, what would Versus XIII have been like?
Without mentioning Nomura, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XV or Kingdom Hearts 3...
An unfinished FFXV, retard.
You failed the question
Less ambitious but more consistent. Pretty much a Kingdom Hearts game, with violence, in an urban setting. Angsty, melodramatic story that would have been fun for someone who's into that sort of thing.
Also, it may or may not have ended up as a musical. Which would have been a unique hook, at least.
Do you think they would have pulled the whole story off in a 25-30 hour game? Also, I wonder how the exploration would feel, considering how limited KH always was in terms of level design.
Wasn't there talk about turning it into a trilogy, before it got retooled into a mainline game?I guess it would have ended on on a cliffhanger and been continued, depending on how well it'd have sold.
I'm not sure if it'd have been an Open World game the way FF XV was, I strongly suspect it would have been set in Insomnia exclusively with the potential sequels exploring different parts of the world. Would have been interesting to see how it'd have handled an urban setting and if it had gone full GTA, FF XV went out of its way to contrive reasons to never let you explore a larger city.
That one tech demo showed some grassy area, I think
Kingdom hearts but as an anime mafia drama
Stella, who eventually became Luna, probably would have had a more active role in the story and her star crossed lovers relationship with Noctis would have been less "we haven't spoken since we were children but are still in love somehow" and more "perhaps we could have been together in another life but this war has pitted us against one another." She also would have been able to hold her own in a fight, as the magic that we see Noctis wielding was also wielded by her.
We also would have seen Insomnia before or during the attack by Niffelheim
Honestly this. I really don't understand why weebs get to uppity about it. FFXV had a lot of soul. Versus looked very cliche, just like that in-game Toy Story XIII Versus trailer that was in KH. Very disappointing knowing people believe Namura makes good games.
>Also, it may or may not have ended up as a musical
Holy shit I forgot after he-who-won't-be-named-in-this-thread saw Les Mis in theaters and then wanted to make it a musical.
Is it wrong that I wish I could see how that would have turned out?
Kingdom Hearts, but with the annoying Disney characters replaced with guns and robots; in other words, the greatest game of all time.
Question, how bad is 15? Bought it for $20 just to have a game to play on my new PS4 but then immediately started hearing it was bad and all. Is it actually shit or what?
Well, his games tend to pretty operatic writing and great soundtracks, so I imagine it might have been really neat, if he got Yoko Shimomura or Nobuo Uematsu on board to write the music.
how would a video game musical work? Would you just watch the songs (the Frozen level in another-game-that's-not-supposed-to-be-mentioned-here made me dislike that idea), or would it become a rhythm game?
It's not really bad, and not even quite as dissapointing as something like MGS V, it's just... underwhelming. Obligatory food analogy:
You go into a restaurant, and order a burger with fries. You get the burger, everything you ordered is on it, but not quite as much of it as you'd hoped for, it's gotten sorta cold and the french fries arrive 15 minutes late after you've already finished eating the burger. It was still an alright burger, but you wouldn't really recommend the restaurant, even if the fried did arrive on time.
Not too bad, but it gets old fast, which is not what you want to hear about an open world game. If you're not getting a new weapon out of it, then the side content isn't worth your time. The number one issue is that you can stockpile literally hundreds of healing items, which come cheap, and you can use them at any time, so the difficulty is nil. Would greatly benefit from a separate, smaller "combat inventory," a la Kingdom Hearts. There's only one dungeon that straight-up bars items, but not only can you work around it with healing magic, but the boss therein is helpless once you make yourself immune to fire damage, which is easy.
it’s good but janky
Who knows? I'm not sure if the idea of making it a musical would have actually been part of the gameplay. Maybe he just meant they they'd be singing instead of talking in cutscenes. If they'd have put in the effort it might have ended up like the Simone fight in Nier Atomata, where the bosses attack pattern matched the music. That was really neat.
The only thing we can say about what versus would have been is that it would have had a longer part of the game starting inside Insomnia and have more traditional cutscenes than what FFXV had
Alright, doesn't sound too bad then, especially having grabbed it from the bargain bin. I'll have to give it a shot sometime after I finish DMC 4 and 5
>after I finish DMC 4 and 5
Holy shit dude, that is going to make it so much worse. That's like going from a first world county to a third world country. That's like following up Led Zeppelin with Mumford & Sons. That's like having Red Robin for lunch and McDonald's for dinner.
FFXV is an unfinished FFXV, retard.
it would have had a good story, with a neet atmosphere
and slightly better combat
