the sidequests are bad, so what else will you do?

It's a good game. Just don't recruit Sera.

you will get bored really fast

dont

no

you're obviously bored, just play the piece of shit.

isn't that the gay minotaur dating simulator

I'm a huge fan of DA:O, I have it in most platforms and even enjoyed DA2. That said I just couldn't finish DA:I, tried multiple times but the game is just so bad that it is unplayable.

If you need convincing to play a game you probably shouldn't even. Go play some other vidya instead of shitposting here, retard.

it's mmo-offline edition with some jank cinematic shit.

No no no! i tried to forget this shit

I enjoyed the freedom you were given in building characters. Made it feel like nearly everything was viable. I ended up making a full mage party work just by rolling with double necros and the tank mage + solas. Was fucking great because all the mages in this game are pretty assholes so the background banter is them shitting on each other 90% of the time. The worlds are enjoyable too. For the type of RPG DAI is I didn't expect to have as many "see that mountain, you can climb it" moments. And there were a lot of times where I just discovered caves and abandoned settlements that told stories in their design and made me feel like I was exploring rather than being led to something.

It's not that I'm bored. It's that I loved DA:O but could never get over how bad DA2 was. I was expecting for this game to redeem the series but playing through an hour of the hinterlands fucking killed me

why the fuck they do cringe shit like this?

If I were to give the game a chance, which class would be the most fun to play for my main character?

I was in your same situation a month ago when it was on sale for $5, and honestly it's not worth the time let alone any money. The writing is terrible, the interface is terrible, and so is combat. If there is any redeeming features, they sure didn't show up in the first 10 hours.

supposedly it gets better after that for 'some' people. If you like the original games you might like those parts after the hinterlands

I tried watching a playthrough when it was released and can't sit past the first hour.

I'll also add that while largely inconsequential to the plot, I appreciated a lot of the fluff that changes depending on some choices and even how you built your character. For example playing not just an elf but an elf mage opened Solas up to me in a lot of dialogue that wouldn't have been there had I not specifically been both of those things. It also caused a handful of people to be doubly prejudiced against me in our conversations. Even my specialization had some fun feedback where one of the characters was distrusting of mages but I had started to change his mind until I decided to go Necromancer and he noped out hard as fuck. It was good at creating a believable world I was a part of considering so much is limited in interaction to your castle or the small marketplace

Dragon Age: The Musical

>Freedom in building characters
You sure you played Inquisition?

Attached: 1547783919915.gif (424x240, 923K)

I found the combat (which was the only decent thing about this game) fun until I unlocked most of my class skills.
After that it was rather repetitive and since you can't change classes mid-game I stopped playing eventually.

Warrior for tanking, rouge for damage, mage for support.
If you want to be in the heat of battle choose warrior if you want to be sneaky and kill guys in one shot use rouge, if you like standing and shooting speeds from a distance then choose mage.

Elfroot Collecting Simulator: The Video Game

I was pleasantly surprised how the first part of the game tried to make like your choices mattered, too bad it got destroyed by the rest of it. Still, it has pretty environments and the main story gets better with the true ending paid dlc. If you care somewhat about the last two games, it wouldn't hurt to play Inquisition, it's not much as a slog, or chore, as two was.

It's not straight up building a character from scratch but I meant more in gameplay. The mixing and matching of different branches makes you able to really develop into whatever kind of playstyle you find most fun and it was neat learning about the specializations in a natural way from other characters and seeing how they reacted to the different classes.

>learning about the specializations in a natural way
>three NPCs show up once you hit level 10 and send you on a fetch quest
>so you can make a promotion potion
so natural

The combat in the game is like wow but much much worse. The story is abysmal.

The slow pacing making the game unbearable to play. How it got game of the year surpasses me.

Absolute trash of a product.

there's a based eggman who wants to make elves great again. bullying him is also fun

Attached: 14960754650515.jpg (450x450, 140K)

I knew that Sera was ugly before going into the game, but what I did not expect was for her to be retarded and a good arguments as for why you souldn't race mix.

fucking christ and that shit can not be skipped. what the fuck were they thinking

>How it got game of the year surpasses me.
2014 was a really bad year for story driven and character focused AAA.

her introduction quest was more than enough for me to tell her to fuck off. Best decision i've ever made

‘No’

Attached: 11582EDE-01E5-4F6D-A157-44FC7BC4FBC3.jpg (220x317, 16K)

isn't every year a really bad year for that

Pick a rogue and go tempest, trust me. It’s by far the most fun class to play. Also you don’t have to use the boring companion rogues then

>story driven and character focused AAA.

I found the combat to be extremly enjoyable and rewarding with how the hits just connect. literally awesome gameplay. I didn't even care about anything else. dunno why they bashed it so much.

Been on sale for like £4 for a decade or some shit, it's a no from me dawg.

Are you a brainlet

The only reason to play this game is if you really want to learn more about the lore.
Other than that, don't bother.

Rogue by far.
They do ungodly amounts of damage, but need to be managed. Warriors are best left to AI, it's actually pretty good at tanking. Mages are best at support/cc.

Dark Souls is more exploration focused than story focused. And it's more AA than AAA.

don't
literally just go play mass effect 2 or dao instead

Does it provide a closure to the loose ends left in DA:O?

Same. Loved obliterating enemies with all the different abilities of your team at the same time and seeing some huge numbers go off late game. Dragons are fun to fight too and it’s comfy to explore the nice and different looking evironments while the party banters

Whenever i play this game i get a really comfy feeling, what could it be lads?

Attached: 1547217636834.jpg (750x750, 319K)

Some of them.
>learn about the ancient elves
>learn about lyrium and the dwarves
>learn about who Flemeth really is
>learn about the Fade

Rogue for sure because the AI can’t play it at all. Also pick the tempest spec as you can switch between melee and ranged and it’s the most fun of all specs

Might replay just to do that. Never got round to finishing it.

I'm so fucking tired of all the same trite meme-criticisms I'd buy it and play it just to spite you fucking cucks.
God damn the same shit over and over and over and fucking over. Zero creativity, no originality to be found.

How is it that in every other RPG thread that Yea Forums shits on for being garbage, never seizes to be entertaining?

Just a comfy fantasy adventure game.

Play Artificer it does the most damage combined with grappling hook and the talent that restores stamina on crit.

What mods are recommended for this game? Like can I make every character traditionally beautiful rather then ugly?

wow it's almost like the flaws in the game don't change

Knight Enchanter. Melee wizards a best.

Yeah whenever the cutscenes are over and you stand there with a whole map to explore you get this tingling in your stomache.

Reminder that Bioware unironically thought this was emotionally moving rather than pure, distilled cringe
youtube.com/watch?v=AgYxMVRtJr4

I cant. Game's pure shit. Even the second one was better.

Also easily one of the most boring classes to play

>play a qt elven mage from the boonies
>listen to eggman, do as he advises
>become a rift mage just like him
>humor him with his 'muh fade' crap
>he withholds the D in the end
WHAT THE FUCK, BROS?!

Attached: 1533116882575.png (488x391, 307K)

What's wrong with this?

>game is le shit!
>doesn’t tell why

don't

>They give you backstory and teach you about each
>Your companions have their own reactions and preferences for what you should do

It's at least more than just hitting a level and immediately selecting a new profession

>rift mage
>Not necromancer
Your loss

It's a horribly cheesy and transparent attempt at pulling heartstrings.

fucking nigers

Same goes for all the other RPGs Yea Forums makes fun of.
Cisquisition is the only one where you fuckheads are so fucking predictable and basic. The only thing that comes remotely close is the
autist that spams "no krogan romance" in every fucking Mass Effect thread.

Are there any games where you can reject party members/quests/etc and it actually comes back to have an impact and change things rather than just deleting that segment from your story?

it's not "natural" at all. Natural would be asking your companions with a specialization you like to teach you.

The best companion is a necromancer already tho

Siding with him is more fun

In this game it actually is pretty natural as the inquisitor sends messenger to find expert teacher

you have no idea what natural means

im so glad that morrigan didn't show up until after this

I don't know, his impotent rage at you words and deeds is amusing. He's literally shaking. Plus you can bitchslap him

This complaint coming from a board full of people who love anime and weeb games.

Why? I'm sure she'd have some hilarious diss to this level of cringe

>just deleting that segment from your story
Always despised this fucking lazy shit. Muh consequences!!
That's like telling the taxi driver to fuck off and suddenly you're no longer allowed in airports

Then go double necromancer

Attached: 1544434437616.jpg (564x1468, 115K)

Yeah, those games have actual passion in them. This doesn't.

Clearly neither do you

Yikes imagine actually believing this. Get laid weeb incel.

would've been decent if they improved the camera work and if bioware's animations weren't so fucking dogshit
but I guess I can say that to anything that's related to bioware and not just that scene

i didnt.
and even then i couldnt play pass the first 5 hours. its so fkn tedious and uninterresting. holy shit.

Look at how specializations were unlocked in Origins (outside of Ranger). You had to complete quests, explore, and talk to your companions. They were actual rewards found in the world through gameplay, not just "boop time for a specialization, fetch quest please."

the atrocious color pallet ?

>it gets good after 10 hours bro
Is the best way to describe this game, it's only when you get Skyhold that the game truly begins.

fucking weabos i bet you like nintendo holy shit
being brainwashed all your life to be a 8 yo child lmao

Attached: 1461938159726.jpg (356x371, 19K)

>Yikes

Attached: 1451004127283.jpg (1416x1080, 416K)

do you need us to wipe your ass also retard?

Ye, ye go tweet about how progressive your latest trash western game is for having exclusively ugly women in it.

I lowkey love games that do this, opening up and unlocking new mechanics after many hours.
Especially when you go in blind.

>You had to complete quests, explore, and talk to your companions
Not really, you only had to talk to companions. The only specializations that took effort to unlock was Reaver and Blood Mage, Duelist isn't hard to unlock and Arance warrior can be unlocked by accident. Most specializations are unlocked through merchants

>animu girls such kawaii and attractive
>fuck gameplay, writing, graphics, music as longas there are animu girls xD

Only one specialization can only be unlocked through a merchant. Everything else can be unlocked through quests and companions. But regardless, talking your companions is still vastly more "natural" than sending a letter to summon up unrelated specialization masters and getting your specialization potion.

Hinterlands are a reverse pleb filter. Only true patricians get disgusted and quit there.

im not defending western games with ugly women, but playing japanese games with 13 yo girls saving the world with little to no clothes is of a pervert, and every japanese game is like that
fucking japanese virgins cucks get out and find a girl to chat to at least

Out of that list graphics is the only claim with any semblance of legitimacy to it.

>>fuck gameplay, writing, graphics, music
we're not talking about WRPGs, user

why dont you just watch hentai and get done with it?

DA:I is the first BioWare game that shows CLEAR signs of SJW infiltration.
The decline was already noticable in ME3, but DA:I was the first huge letdown.

Because it has no gameplay?
What a retarded question.

>You had to complete quests, explore, and talk to your companions
-numerical check no1 +15
-numerical check no2 -10
-numerical check no3 +20
-character now likes you
"hey gibs me dat subclass nigger" "sure skim through my dialog exposition"
-fade to black
"yeah we wuz similar and shit"
-numerical check no4 max approval detected, passive "get free stats" activated

Come on bro. At least be fair.

Morrigan

I am being fair. Talking to your companions and asking them how they do what they do is more natural than getting a magic specialization potion from people you don't know and will never see again.

Check the wiki

There are actually a couple sequences where the game actually does let you feel like a grand inquisitor that people have to be wary of. The whole Winter Palace ball segment of the game might not be anywhere near as intricate as the Landsmeet is when it comes to skulking around the capital, tearing apart Loghain's plans and exposing him for the entire Ferelden nobility, but it does totally nail the feeling that if you play your cards right, you are completely in control of the situation from start to end.

Also, Gay Mage is actually a real bro and the best Tevinter character I've ever seen because he's actually not a psychopathic baby eater and actually paints Tevinter in a reasonable light. All in all, all the characters that were the most laughably stupid going by the pre-release marketing, like him and the Edgeghost, actually ended up being the most endearing. Except Sera, she's complete garbage and as bad as you would expect, if not worse.

I literally did. I'm not counting Awakening, and every specialization except Ranger can be unlocked through exploration or talking to people, in addition to merchant books.

Name a single Japanese game with good writing and graphics

I fell we are arguing different points, my point was that DAO did not have a natural way of unlocking specs because most of them was gotten through manuals.

but it doesnt matter if it's shit? also havent you played hentai games? you retarded weabo? also virgin get out

Tactics Ogre.

>most of them was gotten through manuals.
most of them CAN be gotten through manuals, but only one is REQUIRED to use a manual. There are exploration or companion options for every other specialization. Inquisition does not offer the option, it's the specialization potion or no specialization.

I agree with your point, but don't make it seem like DA:O was without flaws and did everything better.

Why do you keep mentioning having to drink a potion?

The only things you can really say Inquisition did objectively better are graphics and combat animations.

Trespasser is unironically kino and worth it to play through the main campaign to get to it.

Had to google whatever the fuck that is, I get pictures of some uninspired gameboy looking trash lmao

Literally Drake

You literally craft a potion for a few of the specializations, but it's basically the same for all of them. Go on a fetch quest, craft a thing, receive specialization.

PSP, actually. Original was on the Super Nintendo, I think. What, by good-looking, did you mean exclusively some high fidelity cinematic garbage? The spritework on the remake is pretty crispy, and both characters and dialogue, plus the general plot, are extremely competently done. I don't know what team handled the localization of that, but they certainly deserve to be given more work.
Give it a try, you might be impressed, it's pretty easy to emulate too.

Attached: 213.jpg (4812x7008, 2.79M)

tl:dr

Sera is actually the best girl

Are we going to live to ever see another good DA game or is it truly dead?

Attached: 1543953669874.jpg (1051x879, 175K)

Do you even know what you're babbling about anymore?

When EA kills BioWare the franchise will be put on ice.
10 years down the line EA might let another studio take a crack at reviving it.

Attached: 1418782510296.jpg (910x667, 55K)

Can’t wait

Attached: 4F202A51-BFB0-4187-8CFE-CC6AD137A30B.jpg (775x906, 77K)

Sera would not even be best girl if she was the only girl in the game

>graphics and combat animations
Among many other things like audio design and fidelity, crafting, world-building and gameplay to name a few.
But that still has nothing to do with my point: Stop claiming DA:O is without flaws and that it did everything better than the other 2.

>gameplay
L O L

atleast the boxart is pretty rad

I'm the biggest degenerate on this board!

Attached: uwu.png (535x561, 254K)

Tactic ogre is fantastic i wish they did make sequel or atleast remake

Thank god I'm not alone trapped in this nightmare unable to escape.

Attached: time spent in guilt and shame.png (1083x600, 636K)

how the fuck? the game is literal garbage

GOTY 2014 ;)

I'm guessing you just left the game running in the background.
No way in fuck can you actually find 1000+ hours of shit to do in it.

That's well over a month of your life.
Are you guys OK

Yikes dude
I have like 200 and that already felt like way too much

I LOVE YOU!!!! I'm going to replay it one day because I found this mod that changes the Avvar armor to this and I can't wait to show my nips to everyone!

Well it blew my mind because I could be gay as fuck and the character creation and mods allowed for a lot of flexibility.

Now, I will say that the issues become much more apparent after 500-1000 hours of play. The game has issues but when you have mods and cheats it's not that bad.

I'm casual, yes.

Attached: 2168-1526069906-1352144286.jpg (1692x1080, 863K)

I liked this scene

>le clunky crpg!!1!
>rpgs should handle and feel like shit
>despite advancements in technology
>because my autistic brain can't move on past 1999-2004

God forbid I want my rogue character to be nimble and responsive! God forbid my mage is anything other than a derivative Tolkien stereotype
rooted in place for half an hour "channeling" a spell. God forbid my warrior feels like an absolute unit instead of a gay pornstar with diarrhea!

are you serious? this is one of the most cringe shit i ever watched in video games

god forbid I want to use more than 8 skills

>>rpgs should handle and feel like shit
that explains Inquisition, I guess

Christ on a fucking cracker this shit is horrible. When did medieval fantasy writing die.

Attached: 1543827345815.jpg (600x703, 107K)

Only played the first game. Would I at least have fun playing 2 and inquisition?

It's just a comfy scene about peiple finding hope in a dark time. The song brings people together and raises the survivor's morale.
The song also isn't that bad, really the only thing that didn't age well was the janky animations in the scene

How does the armor look on females?

It depends on if you enjoy a more contained, focused experience or a big rambling open world-ish game.

they're both shit, but at least 2 can be funny.

I liked it too. A group of people being rallied by a spiritual leader trying to inspire them to carry on. What's wrong with the concept?

It's not available for women. It's a mod only for male characters.

I beat it twice and still can't remember a single thing about it other than punching Solas

I can fuck with either. The main draw of these games for me besides the setting and aesthetic are character interactions
