overall the game is fine to buy a retail copy, play the main story, resell &forget.
Most successful
Fuck off contrarian
What dumb fuck on the dev team played the clunky combat and thought "yeah, this needs a competitive online component"? The only consolation is that the asshole shooting at you has to deal with the same shitty cinematic controls.
No because GTA Advance will always exists no matter what
No this is the worst game they've made. Boring and soulless. Unbelievably bland.
its literally gta V with a few more side missions and NPCs.
Best game but not without fault.
At least the world and characters of RDR 2 feels alive, deep and detailed
Their ping pong game says hello
That isnt Warriors.
Or the stories games
No, that would be Bully. Boring ass minigamefest was complete dogshit.
better then GTAV for sure, had actual characters and a decent plot
Their ping pong game is unironically the best ping pong game out there
>The Warriors
>remotely bad nor the worst at anything
literally their best
>The Warriors
>Rockstar's worst

>Story 9/10
Do people really believe this?
I can't even begin to imagine what it's like having taste this shit.
I never actualy played it because my game arrived scratched so I could never play it and still have hatred towards it :(
Absolutely not, it's better than SA even.
Yes. It's fucking infuriating how much the devs are jerking off all over the player's face over how immersive their world is and how good their animations are. Like, we get it dude now CAN I PLAY THE EFFING GAME?!
it's true
Good. Because literal faggots like you aren't worthy for the game anyway.
you can swear on this site. Welcome !
In video games standard? Yes
I mean I guess what do people think is so great about it. Can't help but feel like it's TLoU all over again
Yeah and I can eat all the cookies in the cookie jar but I got this thing called hmmmmmmmm self restraint? Yeah. Maybe you should try it. Buckoo.
You can because you liked it.
Stop shittalking me or I will suck the cum out of your penis faggot.
Probably because TLoU wasn't an open world game and also had only a fraction of the content lol
I think stories in games are best when they keep things small scale and down to earth. RDR2 is good because you're just a band of outlaws; you're not immortal, people die, move on, etc. I think WoW was at it's best running dungeons like Deadmines taking out Defias and at it's worst when you were killing Gods and saving the Universe. The problem I had with Bully is that it's too small scale. I just couldn't care about any of the literal kiddy shit that the story was. I appreicate it was well written, humorous and had a good conclusion. But at the end of the day, they're just still kids and it's all completely inconsequential to the wider world. I'm not sure how else to describe it.
you got this thing called autism user
RDR2 is a pleb filter. Right up there with STALKER.
it is nothing like the last of us, arthur and the main cast is actually likeable and the plot has good pacing for the most part. and the ending isn't fucking stupid either
I mean story wise people heaped praise on TLoU story even though it wasn't very good because it was "deep"
cringe
t. fat kid who ate too many cookies
Thought the pacing was shit tbqh
how in the fuck is rdr2 comparable to tlou?
The way people talk about the story being so amazing
Good thing there's more to the game than the story I guess.
Making an overly grandiose, "important" story around literal 15 year olds would have been ridiculous though. They went about as far as they could have with a high school story without it being jumping the shark. I don't see how they could have made the story more impactful without sacrificing the actual good parts of it and the writing.
It's basically the video game equivalent of Against the Day imho
except nobody thought tlou had a fantastic story or gameplay for that matter. it was hounded on by gaming journalists.
that's why I said for the most part. the whole shipwrecked part fucking destroyed the pacing and just sucked overall.
It wasn't remotely as trash as GTAV
Can I stop pretending this game is fun?
>2-3 hold button to activate any option/open a menu
>worst menu implementation I've ever seen
>momentum based movement once again proves to be more of a nuisance than anything else
>3-4 seconds to skin a small animal, 8-9 for a large animal, can't skip animation
>hold button to pick up, then hold button to stow
>suffers from GTA problem of psychic law enforcement
>basic story and plot in terms of westerns
>same old go here, shoot there, ride back here, thanks, here's some money that's been the staple of GTA since 3.
>no liars dice
>worst implementation of poker in any video game
But I was asking about the story
I personally felt everything after Valentine was pretty bad. Doesn't get good again until you're John which was pretty great.
>no liars dice
one of the only valid criticisms you've given
im glad you enjoy standing there holding square, triangle or circle while watching it fill it so you can perform a simple action
I completely agree, the story was appropriate for the setting - 100%. I guess that's just the problem though. Because it's all so ultimately inconsequential (ooh no some shit kid took over some shit school - oh wait the day is saved by the good naughty boy) it all just fell a bit flat for me. Obviously this is a very subjective thing so if you don't agree that's fine.
On the otherhand I liked RDR2 because while your characters were certainly mortal and ultimately can't change the fate of the country - it's hard to say you don't have an impact -Murdering one of the wealthiest in the country, taking down two well established families, not mentioning the story of the gang themselves. So much more was on the line and it hooks you in so much better for it, in my opinion.
I don't enjoy it, it just doesn't bother me enough to make it three separate points against why the game isn't fun.
You mean the best GTA game right.
Ch1: surviving, everything is bad but the group is unified and will get through it
Ch2: getting back on your feet, group is unified and working to get to their goal. Everything good
Ch3: hit a road bump but survived, dutch has a plan that looks good and group is unified. Turns out dutchs plan was retarded and got you guys fucked up and now youre in big trouble
Ch4: shit spiralling out of control, dutchs plans are awful and not well thought out, faith in dutch cracking, camp unhappy, dutch becoming crazier
Ch5: shit is insane, dutch is insane now but arthur hasnt fully gotten that, looks like rock bottom but in the end everyone gets back together and they survive
Ch6: despite surviving the new camp is unhappy, everyone full of doubts, dutch full psycho, arthur sees this, almost a cold war in the camp feeling until the ending
Epilogue is the epilogue
Thats pretty good pacing to me, and i barely mentioned arthur
GTA V's fuckup was including 3 character to play as. All of them are insufferable and annoying assholes.
GTA V SUCKS!
How did it destroy the pacing? The island stuff itself is a little janky for sure but the entire point was that it was this random thing that fucked them over.
Franklin was muh nigguh
Game is fantastic.
Absolutely unique.
Worst game was GTAIV by far.
It's literally just shit you heard about in Redemption 1. You can't make a prequel exciting when you already know the crux of its story.
>It's literally just shit you heard about in Redemption 1.
lol okay
No its not. Barely any of it is mentioned in rdr1. Only how it all ended and even that the details are absolutely not given in rdr1.
>Braithwaits/gray arc drags on forever
>Bronte arc is over insanely fast
>island time that over stays it's welcome
>O now we're doing Indians at the end of the story ok.
>What about O'Driscoll and the buisness guy. BAM both dead
The pacing and writing were honestly shit Arthur is the only good part of the story
Sjw crap
The braithwates and grays had to be as long as chapter 2 because at that point youre thinking this con is going to work out and dutch has a plan and the gang is all fine and dandy. You dont expect until the end that they were really both playing dutch. If it were shorter youd have more of a sense of urgency and that early in the game and story would have sucked. The bronte arc I agree was too short, or at least I thought that initially because I thought chapter 4 would be chapter 3 again: go to a new place, work for this city mob boss and try to play him for a long time, get fucked over in the end. Nope, exact opposite. Dutch shown again to be an idiot, almost gets killed, goes insane on bronte, then its a scramble to get the fuck out and it all goes to shit. The island was jarring but it was showing that dutch again is insane and his tropical paradise is hell. The worst part about the island was that the missions were boring shooting galleries. Absolutely brainless. I think the indians were kind of a mistep after all the other stuff but I didnt think it was too bad. I wish they had been the same indians dutch led in his gang years later though. I think isolated they were really good but tied with all the other stuff it was a bit much.
I thought colm was handled well but cornwallis definitely wasnt youre right.
But that isn't that canned game revealed in 2008
I can't remember the name now
The problem with the braithwaits and grays arc is literally from the very beginning Hosea says it isn't gonna work and that the gold might not even exist even then it wouldn't be so bad if wasn't for the fucking padding in that section. wouldve been nice if you choose a family and have a split arc with different missions. I personally like the game but people gushing about the story seem really dumb
I love this game. I'm on Chapter 3 right now. How many hours left do you think I have? Do you think there will be DLC?
If by "worst" you mean "best" then yeah i agree.
>Do you think there will be DLC?
I don't think that Online isn't as popular as GTAO so here's a hope
>story 9/10
More like 1/5, the people who bothered to finish it lmao
Any more polished games besides rdr2 and pic related from the last couple of years?
>>gameplay 6/10
Single player? No way, they already showed their greedy intentions by adding the Evans repeater for Online but not for Story mode.
lol who cares. Even with all the service bullshit stripped aside, it's one of the better online shooters in a long while in terms of deathmatch and shit shit's fun.
Fuck no, that would belong to GTA V
Well i do, i have 400+ hours on story mode and only 2 in online and it really breaks my heart to already see their shitty online-only support they have in mind. Shit, even GTAV's story mode got some new weapons/cars for a while.
>one of the better online shooters in a long while in terms of deathmatch
Don't make me laugh, have they added free aim servers yet? Have they changed it to 2 teams only? That shit was nowhere near as good as RDR1 when i played it.
For being a GBA game it gets a pass
You can say fuck you fucking faggot.
On the story, the pacing is absolute ass and nothing really happens when you really think about it, eveything is one thing after another caused by character idiocy
Fundamentally the story falls apart after Dutch trusts Micah more than Arthur who has only been in the gang a couple months, and Micah has the personality of a pantomime villain
Free Aim MP on console is retarded dude lol grow up. One of the reasons why I really want it to come to PC...
>t. underage retard who missed on IV, RDR1, MP3 god tier free aim matches
GTAV suck also because of the lack of good music youtube.com
wow way to miss the point
yeah I guess your right there's nothing wrong with having free aim lobbies in the game, that's pretty dumb. The biggest issue for me though is no Poker, I don't even care about making money just come on
I think this thread and every poster here (including my bait eating fuck ass) will never be happy about fuck anything so why even argue faults when it's probably you piece of no-good shits that can never just shut the fuck up and enjoy something/anything at all
Yea Forums nowadays has just dissolved into a "who can cry the hardest about x-y-z" discussions, if they can even be called that
There was no point other than bad writing
sure
It’s not that Dutch trusts Micah more, is that Micah is willing to continue the life of an outlaw while people Arthur and John want out. It’s not hard understand.
This game goes good with whiskey.
He literally trusts Micah more, stop trying to justify bad writing when nobody on this planet can ascertain Dutch's motivations as to why he betrays Arthur at every turn other than he's brain damaged
And yes, that is a literal argument I see being made to justify his nonsensical actions
>when nobody on the planet can ascertain Dutch's motivations
The fuck? He wants to keep the gang going and robbing as long as possible. He doesn't want to settle down and get out of the criminal life. This is is obvious.
>nobody on this planet can ascertain Dutch's motivations as to why he betrays Arthur
I literally just did in that post you replied.
Was Arthur ever mentioned in Red Dead Redemption? When it came out, I was a sophomore in high school and haven't played it since. Do you think Rockstar had him in mind back then? I'd really like to know about the writing process.
Pretty much this, I only keep it around for when I want to play outdoor man simulator but the story is worth a playthrough or two
And it doesn't make sense
He's spent YEARS with Arthur and all of a sudden betrays him because he wants out and wants to continue robbing and killing?
No, I'm sorry but this is completely forced and simply bad character writing, I could maybe believe it if his descent into madness was characterized better, but it isn't and he ends the game saner than before Arthur died
This games plot is retarded
>nobody on this planet can ascertain Dutch's motivations as to why he betrays Arthur
Cmon user that's like the one thing the game shoves in your face
That's an "absolutely" for me. I'm actually angry because it cost so much money yet was so bland and unsatisfying. Rockstar sucks now.
Not boring, not soulless and certainly not bland. You are just a smelly faggot.
I don't know why I even go on this board anymore, the game by itself proves the power of video games as an artistic medium for storytelling, yet contrarians still expect max Payne 3 combat in a game meant to roughly simulate the life of the old west as you yourself get to role play in honestly one of the strongest stories ever told. Sure, you can probably predict the ending of the game pretty easily, but the journey to get there is a phenomenal commentary on morality and the inevitability of human progress.
How the fuck does it not make sense?
Arthur's been at Dutch's side for years and has seen him do all sorts of bad shit, and the game's story is about how he finally has had enough of it. Dutch never wanted to stop, all the Tahiti bullshit is just to keep the gang motivated. The deaths of Micah and Lenny send Dutch over the edge, and at the same time Arthur starts doubting everything he does. He doesn't just betray Arthur out of nowhere. Honestly, I don't think you know what good character writing looks like.
it's easily their best overall.
Not to mention that Arthur betrayed Dutch first, when Dutch specifically asks Arthur not to help the indians and Arthur goes fuck that and does it anyway. He works against Dutch's plan.
>hitman 2
>polished
love the game but it plays like shit on pc
>Give a girl flowers and then dry hump her in the hallway to get a stat boost
Honestly one of the greatest things to ever be put into a game
I'm not that much of a zoomer to where I would trade immersion for speed
visually and atmopsherically very very good. the voice acting is good mostly i realy like the arthur. yes he's a bit generic but he's cool and fun to play as.
the physics, movement is very good also, the way everything moves is nice to look at.
the shooting mechanics feel underwhelming. not sure why exactly. gta4 and rdr1 shootouts felt so much more satifying and impactful.
missions and story pretty meh. bearing i havent finished the game yet but so far the best ones are the side missions/stanger encounters/shop robberies. shooting 20 guys just isnt that fun as it used to be. migt have to do with the fact that there is no sense of danger during shootouts. i can just run around popping shots at heads without much difficulty. would rather intense shootouts with 4 or 5 guys where i could die any second if i dont use the cover properly.
im also not a fan of the save at any time feature, would have preferred the usual save when you sleep mechanic as it makes things feel more significant and immersive
this
And thats worth killing him over? Fuck off! Dutch is a terribly written character, face it already
???
Dutch didn't kill Arthur
He let him die, which is about the same thing
dutch had the cure for tb?
Dutch didn't have a plan did you not finish the game?
he did have a plan to play them against each other and get out amidst the mess. but arthur went against his orders then, forget the plan. it's just a word. same thing in this case.
I thought you were talking about Arthur's ending, since that's actually where he dies.
But how does that scene not make sense? That's completely consistent with Dutch's character. In both games he uses and manipulates every single character he interacts with. He's a psychopath, a narcissist and a megalomaniac. You only get a glimpse of his humanity at the very end when he watches Arthur die and realizes what he just lost.
it was 10 times better than gta5
Up until then it was grounded in some sort of reality, but then you end up shipwrecked all on the same island, fighting the sugar trade, defending a castle from the navy while firing giant canons and skirmishing on the beaches for a way out.
It just didn't need to be there, it feels like they just tripped over themselves and needed to pad out the story a tiny bit longer.
Story is overly dramatic, endless drama is pushed from start to end, even the characters are so serious it gets boring, probably that's why side missions are the most enjoyable
the fault was you cant have missionary white people sex with mary-beth
