Atelier beginner tips?

I just bought pic related and started playing the first game (Rorona). I have no idea what I am doing and there's a SHITLOAD of things to do. How do I prioritize my time best? I don't want to read a walkthrough but I'm also afraid of fucking up with no coming back.

Any beginner tips?

Rorona is CUTE

stupid slut

Wich one should i play first btw?

Rorona is the first one that came out, story-wise it would make sense to play that one first. But I heard the later ones have better QoL improvements and are more fun.

What is your favorite costume?

So looking at gameplay of these they seem to be actual turn based JRPGs and not visual novels like I initially assumed. Are they comparable to Persona games? OP implies there's some sense of time management.

They are somewhat similar to Persona as far as time management and storyline progression goes. You have to manage your time wisely as you have to prioritize synthesizing, exploring, selling stuff, etc. It's similar to Recettear in a way.

Let go. You're never going to get what you want or see everything going in blind so just play the game and if you like it a lot you can go through it again with a faq.

It's annoying for people like us but playing the game with a calendar telling you what to do is worse.

Finished Rorona and Totori so far. Honestly, you can't really fuck up. You are gonna miss stuff, but unless you're a literal retard you're not going to run out of time. Rorona is the only one that has 3 month deadlines, the rest are just "get this done by the end of the year" or "the end of 3 years", where said task is generally not that hard at all.

If you want the True Endings though, you're gonna need a walkthrough. That's 100% autism though, you're better off just playing naturally, having fun, exploring, and then watching the true ending on YT.

I'm usually fine with getting shit done in time limits, but getting the ending that needs all other ending conditions in Rorona can fuck right off.

Don't care. Focus on your main objective, anything else is secondary so just do whatever your gut tells you to do. So long as you complete your objective in 3 months, it's fine. You can worry about the finer details later, no one does that on their first playthrough AND has fun at the same time.

I've never looked it up, but what happens if you do run out of time? Is it game over and try again from some past save? I assume the games aren't incredibly difficult, but I've always worried about getting into a unwinnable situation and having to start all over again.

I don't want to know exactly what to do step by step, and I don't mind missing stuff. I just want to know how to prioritize things. I can be real autism and go balls deep into equipment customization and exploration and then realize I fucked up cause I ignored a fundamental mechanic, and I really don't want that to happen.

How autismal is the true ending to achieve? I read that you just need to get 8 star in each story assignment, or do you need extra stuff? I wouldn't mind going for true ending, but if it's too autistic to get then fuck it.

Your character leads an unremarkable but fulfilling life that could have been so much more if you just tried a little harder.

Relatable

but, gameplay-wise you just load your last save?

its not that hard
you need that+ 100% popularity
people are saying you need to follow a guide step by step but really you can just give the guide a cursory overview and remember what needs to be done

really think its better to give it a go blind first though

Rorona DX is an odd duck because of the bingo card system. DO NOT DO THIS FOR OTHER GAMES, but in Rorona DX you can get by on just 10 starring story missions and clearing bingo cards. This won't get you through the endgame, but it will at least let you learn the nuances of alchemy with less pressure and you can go into NG+ with okay equipment and money so you can do it for real with a leg up. This is mostly why Rorona DX is a good starting point, it does LESS throwing you into the lion's den than other entries with your initial playthrough.

>How autismal is the true ending to achieve?
Depends on the game. Rorona's the hardest, since you have to do pretty much everything, which is going to mean planning out who you bring with you, who you gift, when you do certain things, maxing out all friendships and attaining all other endings. There's NO way you would ever get it in a blind playthrough, you're going to have to have a day by day schedule you follow precisely.

I've only ever failed on purpose so I don't actually know.

Alright, makes sense then. I'll go through blind and just yolo it, I guess.
Any easy quality of life tips I should look out for? Like stocking a certain items to maximize money, some nice weapon or recipe to craft early that makes my life easier, or things like that? I heard that wholesale helps a lot but it's not quite clear to me how it's going to work but I'll cross that bridge once I get there I guess.

just do Sterk's quests and sidequests first, then with your remaining time just do whatever you want.

This game is nearly impossible to fuck up on normal difficulty, they give you an insane amount of time to finish things. I had 90 days extra on my first blind playthrough.

just do Sterk's requests and keep him in your party for battles.

tranny game

Does it make sense to sell materials back to NPCs to get money? I'm already running low on money and I haven't even finished the first assignment.

Do quests for money. What are you even spending money on? You don't need to buy all the books right away.

I bought all the books right away
What about equipment?

What did she exactly mean by this?

Attached: hmm.png (1920x1080, 2.49M)

Why is she so short?

The Gnardi ring you can get from Esty with tickets will carry you for most of the early game.

don't bully her

I wanna see Ku-chan and Mimi duke it out, full on fistfight.

I've also just started playing Rorona DX, just finished the first assignment and I'm in April. I second not following guides, just planning things out carefully yet somewhat casually has been really fun. Are there complete English guides for the DX version?

what's the difference in the dx version?

whats the relation between mana khemia and atelier games? alright to play these games in any order?

The DX and plus versions are essentially the same, so you can use the same guide.

Holy shit just fucking play

Rorona DX is actually Rorona Plus which came out as a re-release to bring it in line with Totori Plus and Meruru Plus graphically.

Story order is Rorona>Totori>Meruru

Meruru DX in particular added a scene that takes place in their timeline before and after visiting Rorona in Rorona DX's extra content plus a teaser for the then unannounced Lulua.

Atelier works in subsets. Each subset has a defined chronological order but they don't cross with one another. So like Mana Khemia doesn't matter to the Arland games, which don't matter to Iris or Dusk or Mysterious or whatever. It's generally accepted that Arland or Dusk are the best to start with nowadays, though the latter gets increasingly mixed reception as it goes on whereas the former is pretty much uniformly liked.

>Totori
>better QoL
Oof

Are you guys getting nelke? What is that spinoff even about

>unannounced Lulua
youtube.com/watch?v=Awpeyh2VbWs
Lulua has been announced already, by the way, if you didn't know.

>then
Fucking idiot

I'll get it in 2022 when I've caught up with the series and can enjoy the fanservice.

>if you didn't know
Reading comprehension, user.

Holy shit you weren't kidding, I just got the ring and I'm just wrecking everything now.

Btw, there is a translation patch for Atelier Marie and Elie.

>Rorona parents tell her they will be gone for three months
>~20 days pass in-game
>event where the parents come back
Excuse me what?

Attached: Untitled.png (1920x1080, 3.11M)

For Rorona: play once without reading/researching anything, read a guide for the second playthrough to get all events.

For Totori: no idea I got bored during my first playthrough so I'd love some tips about what Im doing wrong too

Maybe they are bad at counting

>Meruru blatantly spoils the true ending of Totori
Well, fuck me right?

Attached: 1526695478880.jpg (800x450, 38K)

Why were you playing them out of order in the first place?

>precisely
No
You just have to attain certain goals, like crafting certain items, for each period. Like the items that lower travel time. But you do need a guide for this, just not a day-by-day one.

Does it make a difference if I use an overripened plant or a ripe one or whatever? Do ingredients I store in the container slowly lose quality as time goes by? What should I do with them?

Attached: what did she mean by that.png (858x571, 569K)

Ingredients stored in the container do not lose quality. However, the ones in your basket do.

Imagine spending the better part of your life getting dragged around by a dumb alchemist.

?
Playing the trilogy in release order and im not autistic enough to go for the true ending on the first playthrough. Goddamn i dont even want to replay Totori, it's hella bad.

Sounds fun, even better if it's a cute alchemist

Attached: lewd conduct.jpg (1200x1200, 144K)

If you weren't gonna go for the Totori true end, I don't see how Meruru telling you what it was is a bad thing.

>tfw Lulua is going to ruin the Arland trilogy

You can choose to start an NG+ so that the next playthrough is hopefully easier to get stuff done in.

>when I've caught up with the series
I've been repeating the same since 2007.

BARREL!

Maybe she was cute once, but now she's just a middle-aged lady.

so who impregnated rorona?

The demo is good at least.

How's the Arland Trilogy on Switch performance wise? I have the games on my Shita but never finished them. Are the performance issues gone?

Cute mommy

I'm playing them handheld, haven't had any issues. I think only Lydie & Suelle ran poorly.

Me

No one. The twist is that she's actually Totori and Mimi's love child.

oh no, are there actual trannies in this series?

No

Those gloves must provide great handjobs

YAATAA!!! LEVEL UPA!

>t. Mysterioustoddler

Are you retarded or something?

make high tier ori bombs as fast as you can

This one i agree.

Arland, Dusk, Mysterious, which trilogy had the hardest games?

Arland, Dusk then Mysterious from hardest to easiest.

3D > 2D though

What makes Mysterious so easy, the lack of time limits?

Iksel obviously had a romp with her
