>Be pearl collecting
>Trying to get the pearl in garbage wastes
>Grab pearl but get surrounded by Brother Long Legs
>Try and sneak past them but get grabbed
>Fight against it for a while but death is certain until
>TACTICAL SCAV AIR STRIKE and five scavs fall from the ceiling and skewer both Brother Long Legs with three or four explosive spears, killing them instantly.
That was some of the funniest, most heroic shit I've seen. Remember to be friendly to your local scav and give them lots of pearls.

>find a cool colored lizard
>spend 2 cycles finding meat to throw at it
>the 3rd cycle it's gone
>wait 3 more cycles looking around for it, nowhere to be seen
I'm going to start a vulture genocide I swear to god.

Thats just the way nature works

I don't have a game to play.
I've already done a survivor run.
Didn't bother with memories and lore.
Is Hunter or perl hunting "fun"?

nice OP image

Absolutely terrifying
How did you even get a red in survivor?

Hunter is an entirely new experience from Survivor
Its also total hell

What's the easiest way to get back to the Moon girl from 5P?

Attached: thewallshelter.png (1920x1080, 1.21M)

>Chimney - Industrial - Shaded - Shoreline
Is probably the fastest way without fast travel

I've been carrying a yellow pearl in my belly for some while now because it looked valuable... Should I give it to a scav when I see one? I'm not exactly fond of them now that they stole my fucking mask

Scavs are the niggers of rain world
You should really only give them white pearls to let them know that white is might

giv perl
Keep the coloured pearls for Big Sis Moon.
Feel free to toss white pearls at scavs, unless you're interested in generic little bits of lore.

Attached: 1549982318322.png (1190x595, 1.04M)

Thanks, also does bringing Moon the pearls from 5P's room do anything?

She has unique minor lore for them randomly picked from a list. White pearls can have lore too, which is also randomly picked from a larger list. Some of them are empty and a waste of time though.

>started playing this game 2 weeks ago
>kinda difficult at first but quickly get used to it, having fun
>follow the small yellow guy
>past the shaded citadel
>suddenly blue tentacle bitches appear in every room as I try to follow the only path I can see
>also have to manage swinging with the weird rope grub without falling to my death
>die at least 20 times
>get mad, uninstall game
>next day
>reinstalling again
wtf how does this game make me come back to it over and over again?

based. will do
nice. still don't know who that is though

How about you stop shitposting here and keep working on solving the Great Problem, Pebbles.

Do it for her

So I'll bring her both, thanks.

Yes
5p is a he
Silver of straws is s she
Moon is assumed She

>Moon is assumed She
>Big Sis Moon

When is she called that

>It's an old conversation log. I seem to be in it, but I can't recall much. Let me read it to you:
>"1650.800 - PRIVATE Five Pebbles, Chasing Wind, Big Sis Moon, No Significant Harassment

Who's the most based iterator? Is it No Significant Harassment?

He certainly seems to be, what with being the only one to care about moon. He's also pretty funny

5P

5P is the opposite of based

is he /ourguy/?

Do you see him in game
besides the hunter ending

5P wasn't afraid to go the distance to solve the problem while others were just jerking around with their inane bullshit. He and Sliver of Straw were the only ones taking the iterator business seriously.

No Significant Harassment may be working on the problem as well. The Hunter ending makes me think he's testing how ascension would work on someone who has the self-termination taboo.

Attached: Hunter ending 3.jpg (1280x720, 65K)

Why does he care though

No, but I think you can see his, and other iterator's overseers upon exiting 5p

They're friends, iterators seemed to have their own little circles that they talked to each other in from time to time

Should i start a hunter playthrough or do survivor again and explore areas i missed?

It's a cover up for his secret ascention plans. However hunter as his vessel is a total champ and actually pulls trough with it before making it into the void pool.

Start your hunter playthrough. Do it for her.

heckin' chonk

Thinking of buying Rain World. Is it really that good, anons?

Attached: 1403763073696.jpg (200x200, 8K)

It has its flaws but I surely don't regret buying it.

Yes, it’s a contender for game of the generation but it’s not for everyone. The first few hours might look like it offers because you're given no direction and there many paths but once you get out of the first area, you will find the enjoyment. Advanced movements are not required but i still think they’re important to master. Play this masterpiece

Attached: ED697570-7A2B-4B5C-B6F1-593ECD4DD844.jpg (1920x1080, 161K)

>has flaws

Well no game is without it's flaws

What are RW's flaws?

>play survivor
>man slugcat sure has a hard life
>play hunter
oh god why

Attached: 1534196144232.jpg (748x748, 113K)

It's probably too much for you to handle. Stick to games aimed for more broader audiences.

Attached: 1548296173427.png (444x440, 42K)

>game of the generation
Calm down it's a very good game, maybe one of the best games of that year and hidden gem for sure but you can't make such mad claims like that.

>sneak past the lizards with dicks on their heads
>feel like a ninja
>press the wrong button and throw a rock into the wall

Attached: 1550443440820.jpg (1200x1800, 208K)

I completely skipped five pebbles and went the leg > underhang > the wall > five pebble's chamber
Did i fuck up?

What the game offers as a whole, it’s a generational game. The AI is excellent, the insane amount of hidden mechanics (it was play tested to death and it shows), the different sections that indroduces something new to the gameplay, the emotions you feel while playing it, the satisfaction of killing any creature, the lore is quite good, you could never predict where the game is going next because it’s so unique, it’s not a platformer but it has some of the tightest platforming ever, manu more praises. It’s a contender for game of the generation, boy

Technically no. If you want to give neurons to moon then you'll have to go back but that's not required.

I'd say the screen transitions are the biggest flaw, sometimes you'll transition to the next screen right into the mouth of a predator. Some of the transitions also sit at an odd place in the room where it keeps switching back and forth while you're trying to climb or jump on poles.

Other than that, the time limit counting down to the next lethal rainfall can be annoying and will definitely turn some people off, but once you realize dying before reaching a new shelter means little unless you're trying to get through a gate it becomes less uncomfortable.

I did it guys... I ascended. Yellow Slugcat became one with the universe... I think

Is anything actually required in this game?

Lineage system. Once you kill a lizard wich is common in that area, cycle after cycle, a stronger variant will eventually spawn there. Killing that new variant, will make the game spawn a even stronger variant. That way you can "spawn" a red lizard as the survivor.
The same can be done with vultures, to summon king vultures, or pole plants to summon monster kelp.

You missed all the fun

Or fucking dropwigs into spitting spiders. Dropwigs themselves are apparently rare on Survivor but I saw a lot of them.

I don't wanna die bros... I don't want to let go...

Attached: 1546718416476.png (875x772, 729K)

I thought it was wolf spiders the ones you needed to kill to summon the spitter variant.

>juked 3 scavs somehow
>managed so steal a spear from one

Attached: RainWorld 2019-02-23 21-28-17-52.png (1920x1080, 1.21M)

Congrats. Did you enjoy it?

>stealing from scavs
>not becoming the scav king
One spear is nothing compared to a tribe of scavs following you around.

Yes. Max level karma but thats really it

Yeah, it got kind of sexual with the sperm

I just discovered that in sandbox mode you can use the mouse while playing to grab and move any creature around. Is fun to feed your DLL or Leviathan pet.

I assume that works too, apparently dropwigs have a 10% chance to lineage into spitter spiders. I got one in Chimney but luckily it lives near mushrooms and a scav weapon hoard.

Pros:
Amazing music.
Amazing environment.
Great lore and themes.
Great creatures.
Stupendous AI, one of the best in how things interact with each other in believable ways.
Great feels.
Mastering bits of advanced movement feels very nice.

Cons:
Exploration and lore collection is effectively punished, at least on the first play through, without teleports in shelters.
It's punished by the food, rain, and karma gating mechanic, the later of which I think is quite awful and unneeded outside the finale
Watching cool AI interactions is punished for the same reasons, you're burning valuable cycle time.
Very punishing in general. Rain cycles can be random. You can and will die to things outside your control.
The window for some advanced movements is punishingly narrow, at least on keyboard controls.

The biggest issue i have with the game, and honestly I think it should prevent some purchases, is the support for only a few resolutions for a game that came out in 2017. Despite almost 2 years since release and one major update, this still isn't fixed. This isn't acceptable.

Overall I think it's worth playing. Up to you whether or not to buy it though.

Enjoy having the scav wing death squads after you.

If you want challenge and suffering

There is three places you have to visit to finish the game, everything else is optional.
You can finish Rain World in 2hours or play it for 50hours, it's how you want though goodluck finishing it in 2hours on your first playthrough that's not happening.

Did anyone buy the limited run version? I'm kinda upset that I've heard nothing so far on delivery. it's been months

I got an email yesterday saying they shipped my copy

Thanks, anons, getting it for Switch, to suffer in my bed.

Switch version has frame rate problems or something last I heard

I don't think being punishing is a con. Without it you couldn't get the same experience. It also doesn't matter at all if you're burning cycle time unless you're hunter. You should never feel rushed to explore an area. Karma gating generally works on principle, keeping new players out of areas they shouldn't go but allowing for more experienced ones to take more difficult routes, but there's a few points that it's easy to slip past that and fuck yourself over.

Limited Run is always slow, they open pre-orders before actual production.

It doesn't have anything to do with which creature you kill, but rather which den the creature you're killing comes from.

Here is the full spawn list for Survivor in Shaded Citadel, it lists all the creature dens that have spawns assigned to them.
Only the ones labeled 'LINEAGE' will have the lineage system work.
For example, here's the first lineage den in this image:
LINEAGE : SH_A11 : 2 : Green-0.4, Black-0

SH_A11 is the room, 2 is the den number. A green lizard always spawns here first. If you kill it, there is a 40% chance the spawn will change into a black lizard spawn and a 60% it will stay a green lizard spawn. If the black lizard spawns, it will not change any further since it ends with 0.

Have you guys seen this game on sale on Switch? This has been on my wishlist for a few weeks but I usually only buy them if they have a discount.

Attached: 1549412737053.png (1913x1788, 699K)

It was on sale a few weeks back, in Europe at least.

Damn you can bring bigger spiders in just by killing the mice.

There is movement of player ideas that i see on Yea Forums even in other games that seem to state that if the game resists you it's a terrible crime. Things like tedium or road blocks making the game boring or anti fun or some such.
I don't want to know where they acquired such ideas. I think there is no victory without struggle and i can't understand why someone would disagree with that.
In Rain World i'm the one who punishes.

Attached: 1548565955846.jpg (483x667, 105K)

I'd recommend it on PC for the mods, especially with that big expansion coming.

>especially with that big expansion coming.

Speaking of which, what slug will you assholes play as first?

Wonky controls and poor gamepad support. By that I mean it only recognuzes dual shock and xbox controllers, you have to do some key binding otherwise.

I mean what other controllers are there anyway

>not playing Rain World on the DK Bongos for maximum immersion

>You never actually witness slugcat getting eaten.

You do with the thing in the OP pic

This was my favourite experience in the game so far only beaten by 5P and the leadup to him
