In DoA5 Vanilla Mila was hated because her mixup game was so strong that she literally did not have to play the same game as everyone else. So Mila players had a bad wrap for not playing traditional DoA.
Then DoA5 Ultimate hit and she was pretty nerfed into the ground so people didn't want to play her too much then Last Round hit and she was nerfed some more, her pokes were stronger though. So her time as a top tier character was marred by the community utter hatred of her playstyle
From a design perspective the artist behind her wanted to make her more conservative than the other girls, but never expanded on what that meant. So it wound up being that Mila just didn't get costumes as often as everyone else.
I believe in the season passes her costume frequency was closer to the guys than anyone else.
And the majority of costumes she did get didn't match the personality she had or were just plain bad (I'm looking at you Bee suit). They never fully embraced Tomboy chic or straight MMA apparel so she kinda lacks. I've mained Mila since she was filthy in 5 and to this day I still just put her in her sweats because she looks adorable and matches her personality way more than her idol costume.
I will never forgive them for not giving her Vanessa's outfit in the KoF Crossover costumes. IT was right there!
