Not really. It's based off the first 30 chapters of the in game story and the first 100 were the weakest and that's where the story was the most generic. It does however, have nice artwork though the line filter wasn't complete by the time it aired so make sure to download the BD and not the TV versions.
It's slow but pretty, and a bit comfy on the side, but don't expect to be blown away. Season 2is on the horizon and the story picks up a little in Albion so maybe watch it in prep for that.

good time right now altough you will have to forget about rerolling for better/more characters, you can do the anniversary event rerun with Sandalphon free SSR+Sunstone to uncap a SSR summon(these are rare as fuck so dont use them without first consulting other players and without rolling a top tier summon), there's the free daily single roll+200 crystals and we should get a lot, lot more free shit with anniversaary proper, if you are patient enough, you can try progressing main story+events+sidestories+saving up the free crystals and tickets until you get 300 rolls, then use them at once to spark some limited waifu you like

do 300 draws under one promotion/banner. you then get to take your pick of one cutie from the pool in that banner. if you're ever unsure, you can see every character available in that banner on the draw page, forget the button but it's something like "available characters".
if you're new as shit don't worry about it too much, you'll want to have a few good characters to play with so maybe do a 10-roll or two during a rate-up banner. don't roll outside of rate-up banners though.
however, anniversary is coming up and we're expecting a ton of free shit, including rolls. so maybe hold off rolling until then.

you'd want characters/abilities/HP numbers that allow you to not die when you hit say 50% HP, since somewhere between 50 and 70 the enmity effects can outdamage the standard attack skills, for dark, you use Zoi to keep you at low HP and nuke the shit out of the boss while your HP is low and can still fall back on the drain effect, or Dark Jeanne surviving thigns with 1HP where her innate enmity kicks in as well, for wind I think its more about barrier-like skills like what Anchira can cast

All you need is Disparia and Swordmaster and you are done. Equip Disparia as the mainhand weapon and use the 1st skill. My preferred way of farming is the weekend slimes, use a summon to clear the 1st wave and Disparia to one-shot the king slime.

For wind i recommend using helnar as third character, try to 5* him as fast as you can and level him he is actually really solid at level 90
Others are really just what ever as third guy
But just start 1 element that has characters you like, do the mainstory and uncap the characters, grind that elements magna boss for drops
The first grid is always the hardest but after that it starts to get easier when you can MVP your own magnas at some point

Astrals went around enslaving primals and made the Angels to fuck people up.
Eventually the war escalated and someone pissed off Bahamut who nuked the fucking planet until only the small sky islands remained.
Theres also a race of machine people who live on the moon called "the foe" since we dont know jack shit about them who have been doing mysterious shit related to the Astrals. We dont know much about them other than they are explicitly not Astrals. Its speculated they went to war with the Astrals before the Astral war and got their shit slapped.
They might be related to the demons that the Astrals sealed away in Pandemonium which was their fuck huge jail (who just all broke out recently). They are going to be expanded upon in like 2 weeks during what makes the sky blue 3 most likely.

The problem is that the meta shifts and characters get powercreeped or get new upgrades. By the time you're actually ready for the endgame any recommendation you get now might be obsolete. Also, are you really sure you want to get into endgame raiding? If you just want to see the story, listen to the music, and enjoy the cute girls you don't need to give a shit about what characters you use.
