christ that's fucking ugly why would you play that? play GTSport
while i like gt1, gt3 and 4 are much better
100% GT2 yesterday, feels good. now onto GT3
You mean Gran Turismo Sport right? From a gameplay perspective, that's pretty much GT perfected.
Imagine if they'd kept making great games after 2, they might still be relevant and not an absolute laughing stock literally getting outdone by indie devs.
>not 100% all license tests with gold
Disregard, I suck cocks.
Posted the wrong image.
GT Sport is pretty much the best racing game this gen though.
>This is what console shitters actually believe
I disliked how easily you got nice cars in 2. You get one after every race literally. There is no sense of accomplishment or challenge.
Whatever you're playing, it's dead and irrelevant.
GT peaked with 5 Prologue
Does it have a solo mode yet
That and some easy races giving you 50k+ worth cars
I need the absolute best ricer simcade
yeah, there's this one event, 5 laps of Red Rock Valley in Gran Turismo All Stars, you get 50k + 500k from selling the speed 12. find it amusing that the game doesn't stop giving you those cars though. at least gt3 fixes it, although there's this garage trade thing where you can just use the 2nd save to stack up car upgrades, mostly for if you're buying the car though
That's not GT2.
GT Sport is fucking terrible E-Sports garbage, but VR tour is comfy.
You know what? I'll say no, but it was the best post GT2 game. It didn't have much in terms of quantity, but everything about that game was damn near perfect in execution.
people who like GT2 but can't appreciate GT1's superior atmosphere are truly plebeians of the highest magnitude
True, vanilla cars racing in those forests/mountains is the best GT experience
I don't know what I hate more. I hate people who bitch about no solo mode just because they're fags who would get slayed in multiplayer, but I also think it's a shame to leave out a GT mode
havent played GT5 yet. why Prologue?
>staying up all night for the endurance race
GT1 DOES have a good atmosphere and I do love how the western OST adds to it, as much as I adore Like The Wind.
youtube.com
This shit is peak 90s comfy. But I still prefer GT2 as a whole. Love the jazz, but it's just a retread of GT1's JAP soundtrack, so even then GT1 wins again.
>Would get slayed in multiplayer
I'm not great at it, but I do just fine. I don't like how GTS took the identity of a series that was about driving the cars people owned and loved into this tryhard motorsports circle-jerk. The moment Kaz ran his first Nurburgring 24h, the series' fate as a self-indulgent platform for nonsense to get brownie points and motorsports clout was sealed. Shit like not including original tracks or certain car types because PD has to get on their knees for FIA bullshit is what ruins it for me.
>The game became less about competition and more about collecting cars
Fuck that ad, I'm still mad.
best track
Quality over quanity. Not much there but what was is very good.

>That's not GT2.

That's fair.
I actually played GT4 for the first time with GT1 jap jazz OST in the background and it was kino, I can appreciate both. But for 1, the western OST works better for sure.
Not that user, but GT5P did everything really well. Physics, graphics (even hold up today), and being smart with their limited car list. GT5P is the prime example of Quality over Quantity. GT5 was okay, but had a terrible Level Up pseudo-RPG system, lazy porting of PS2 models with barely any upscaling just to boost its numbers to win "most cars in a video game" awards. GT6 was slightly better because it was what GT5 should've been, even though they kept the PS2 models.
Also, GT5P has the best Kasho track with vocals. Check this shit: youtube.com
>Honda/Acura
Fuck me, that's good shit. GT1 also has my favorite "prize win" theme.

>it will never be 2005 again
can we all agree that this was the coolest gt1 car ?
I'm just against multiplayer shit in general, I prefer async multi if anything. I put out good times in GT5 time attacks against other people. I just prefer SP anyway
I can't listen to Dakota Star without getting butthurt that a song they made as an opening track to a niche racing game never got released.
i was also thinking about kaido when i posted that
and fuck Daiki Kasho for not releasing the ps2 wangan intro
for me it was pic related
Truths
>The appeal of racing games was to drive the cars your parents or older brothers had, or the cars that you wanted as a first car in the realm of reality
>Most games followed this path, even NFS
>When NFS: Most Wanted came out, it was full of expensive cars which were not used in true clandestine racing
>Every game since then has followed this trend of expensive car racing
>NFS: Most Wanted killed the racing genre
>tfw got into simracers and ruined shit like GT for myself
can't even go back and play older ones for the nostalgia anymore, GT1 really isn't good removed from it's time.
First 6 or 7 entries of the NFS series were all about exotic cars you underage retard
>NFS: Most Wanted came out, it was full of expensive cars which were not used in true clandestine racing
Except Hot Pursuit and literally every NFS since the start had shit like Porsches and Ferraris.
Shit. Just play some Arcade racers and bridge the gap little by little.
If you mean grinding cash for better cars and upgrades then yes you can do that.
I played Dirt Rally and after that all arcade driving games felt so easy and all the asphalt games feel like for babies.
May I interject if only for a moment
youtube.com
>how the fuck did we go from slick menus like this to animation-ridden annoyances like everything of the past 10 years
youtube.com
No song in vidya history floods me with as big a rush of nostalgia as this track. I wanna go back.
>post yfw it wasn't a gold time
Based
you literal fucking zoomer retard
racing games were about exotic cars since their inception, it took 20 years for Gran Turismo to drop and let you race in your mum's shitbox
I've never golded all the licenses in GT2. That shit is fucking horrific.
Stop reminding me of my failures.
>still waiting for a gran turismo for ps4
why was GT2 the only game to have this?
4 is the best Gran Turismo tho
4 was the comfiest
Wrong.
for me it's

If you want some GT-like weeb jazz music lads, this is good shit
man i remember grinding the first Sunday Cup race so i could buy a Viper.
Alright boys I know we like old school GT but let's not forget how fucking BANGING some of 5's music was
youtu.be
yeah and the driving tutorials are actually really fucking good
No thanks I don't like my cars sounding like Vacuum cleaners.
Also that's not Burnout Revenge.
IMO GT5/GT6 was the last good GT game.
I liked GT5 more than 6, but they are similar.
The map creator was comfy as fuck, single player so that you can safely play even if servers go down, but the online was fun too and I always went into servers that didn't race, just allowed people to use and change cars so it was more a track day styled server.
RIP GT5/6 servers.
It's the only game that have my car.
Definitely. Both of those premium dealer themes alone are excellent.

I haven't been keeping up with GT, is there a game on PS4?
oh, you like burnout? that's so cool! that's so cool user im so glad you came to say this in a GT thread, personally im fucking blown away that someone likes Burnout, you must be so special and unique man that's SO cool
One thing a I hate about the later GT games that they stopped writing original music in favor of licensing.
cringe desu
Yes, but it's always online with a very heavy multiplayer focus. They did add a barebones single player mode though, and it has a livery editor.
Sport has a "GT Mode" and the car list is pretty decent now, no where near what GT is known for but all the cars are premium and more get added each monthly update.
Only one, GT Sport.
Yeah, but it's a bad GT. It's an okay simcade, I guess.
Not that user, but you are kind of a faggot, even if Burnout is awesome. 3's better anyway.
Not man enough for streets of Paris, Mr. Yankee?
>last good GT game
Because they are the last GT games made for now GT Sport isn't a new entry and it's not even e-sport bait like most people think it is. Sport was made to finance the production of scalable assets for the next decade of GT games. The asserts in Sport are supposedly made to look at their best in 8k
Fuck Savo. His races give me PTSD.
So GT Sport is more like a cash grab on the side so they can make a new mainline GT game but with the added funds from Sport, they can now make the next mainline GT with all premium cars?
Hope they add cars like Volvo, SAAB (900, 9000, 900SE, 9-3, 9-5, 95, 96, Sonett, 9-2 etc), and not just the damn Volvo S60 or C30, but the 740, 850 as well.
I'll admit: the only games in PS3 and PS4 that I care are GT titles, I don't give a fuck to any exlusive there other than those games. The same with Xbox and Forza, but at least Xone can play all of them thanks to retrocom
Yes. In every interview the producer always said that you shouldn't treat Sport as the next entry but a side project.
Don't worry according to rumors PS5 will be backwards compatible with discs from PSX to PS4 like the xbone is with the 360 and xHUGE
It's interesting how this game progresses from totally comfy to absolute nightmare.
Good to know, because GT mainline games used to be a console seller for me.
PS3 was the last console I bought because of that.
I'm excited for GT7 honestly, the insane quality cars in Sport is great and the sound team has seriously stepped up their game.
It's funny how Motorsport 7/Horizon 4 sounds garbage compared to Sport.
True on the "side project" thing, but look at this and tell me it isn't esports bait
WAKING UP AT 12
IN MY CLOTHES AGAIN
SWEET SIXTEEN
I dunno, since I ignore e-sports and look the other way when presented e-sports material so I won't even watch that video.
It's also why I know nothing of GT Sport other than it's always online and not that interesting to me.
GT for me is collecting cars and having fun with those cars on trackd ays against people that tune their muh super cars.
It's fun bringing out a 712HP Jensen interceptor against people with moderately tuned super cars. First acting like it's around 150-200HP then going full throttle and leaving them behind.
>post yfw mutts actually feel nostalgic over their scuffed GT3 soundtrack
>early 2000s jap racing sim aesthetic
youtu.be
Fucking christ is there any other aesthetic that can compete?
Rally racing for me. Richard Burns Rally
3 A-Spec > 4 > 5 Prologue > Tourist Trophy > 2 > 1 > 6 > 5 >>>>>>>>> Sport
Prove me wrong.
sequel never
6 > 4 > 3 > 5 > TT > 2 > 1
wannabe boomers think hating 6 is cool, how little they know. 6 was kino
youtu.be
shame you missed out on all the multiplayer sierra runs, drag racing shitboxes on route 7 and skidding around tsukuba, bantering with randoms in text chat
>Outrun only let you use a ferrari in 1986
Racing genre been dead since 1986 lads
