It's fine to have the games/regions interlinked as long as everyone gets a slice of the pie, and Kanto is more iconic than others.

Anyone hopeful of the new games only casually follows Pokemon and has no idea who GameFreak actually is. They're one of the most lazy and incompetent devs in the business, so unless the game is directed by someone like Takao Unno or Shigeki Morimoto the odds are very high it'll be unambitious, safe, lacking content and pandering to the lowest common denominator genwunner. Looking at Let's Go only shows how woefully unprepared they are to shift to HD console development.
