Nioh 2

Let's have a cordial discussion pertaining to how Nioh 2 can improve upon its predecessor game, Nioh. If you have appropriate art, please share through the 'Post' feature.

make it open world instead of level based

I hope they tune the balance a bit better, though I can't see them going back to the way the game originally was and working from there, despite that being the best way to really do so. One thing I don't think of too much that I'd like is to see them add even more weight and impact to the attacks. Nioh was pretty good in this regard already but I want sparks and blood really flying, loud clangs of steel, really sell the meaty satisfaction of the combat. The old camera would help a lot there too though.

Make it cost less to play as the cutie in OP

Have less utter trash loot so you can cut down on the reliance of finding good Revenants to make an OP set right away. Also, more enemy variety. No more 4 NG+ runs to reach the true endgame content.

Character creator
Having some enemy variety
Toning down the diablo item system

More based Nobunaga

Nioh could have been one of the best games of all time but it lacks focus

Its not gory/ brutal enough

the lethality isnt high enough (like it was in the alpha)

the oni and general art style are not scary enough, they wouldnt look out of place in final fantasy

the core mechanics are diluted by the terrible lootgrind which also assures that you never feel like you actually found some meaningful special weapon or armor set, a thing soulsborne does infinitely better

in general the game went with quantity over quality, give me 20 incredibly designed levels rather than hundreds of bad and copypaste missions with no quality level design or enemy variety

I still like the game but clearly not enough since I played the shit out of the alpha and beta/ preordered the deluxe edition but somehow still havent even finished the first expansion

Give the chance to make some choices that might affect the plot in a significant way. maybe romance options, but limited and with little focus on them, just to make waifufags happy
No open world as it would be difficult to manage and would risk creating something like MGSV (that might be interesting, tho) but simply much larger maps and lower reuse of them.
Add some boss with a moderate amount of mechanics and make NPCs relevant/add co-op summoning

have more than 5 enemies for a start

More variety in location design including secrets, atmosphere etc.
More enemies with different attack patterns.
Better story.
More weapons.

You realise enemies on average did LESS damage in the Alpha, right? You were more likely to be hit from behind or put out of Ki and there were more enemies, among other things but the general damage itself was lower for you and enemies. That speaks louder than me actually going through your points individually will.

"lethality" means you die faster, regardless of damage values

Dying almost instantly because you made a mistake is high lethality rather than being able to take 5 hits instead of 6

Not being glued to the ground would be pretty nice. Sure there were moves that let you briefly get in the air, but designing the game around having a hack and slash style jump could really help vary up the combat and level design.

More enemy variety, with more varied interactions

More unique zones

New weapon types

Do more with the Yokai world/transitioning between it and the real world

More Curayzee combat.

Unlock the random dungeon generator / dungeon crawling mode earlier, instead of right after the end of the game where you'll be fatigued from the story. Otherwise the game was already perfect.

Attached: Nioh - Complete Edition Screenshot 2017.11.15 - 22.38.14.36.png (1344x756, 1.97M)

That still wasn't the case compared to how the game is now. The vast damage increase means far less chance of survival in all kinds of mistake scenarios, when before only the culmination of several big mistakes would come close to killing you in that manner.

Don't do feedback surveys again and nerf the game into the ground again. For God's sake, Yasuda and Hayashi worked under Itagaki, they shouldn't be afraid of intimidating the player.

Don't make me play the same map 20 times entering and exiting from different places and call it "variety"
Make the loot actually meaningful to add true replayability. Last resort should be farming specific bosses for specific loot, be it parts of a weapon/armor or weapons/armors as a whole. Modifiers and shit

An endless yokai realm/dungeon where people can travel into to grind amrita and loot sounds like a good idea yeah. It can be a chain of transistion linked area's that gets progressively harder, can take you to any zone (randomized), with almost any enemy type (randomized), every once in a while you'll hit layer checkpoints with boss battles, which if you beat you can resume from there.

>The old camera would help a lot there too though.
They should bring back the alpha's lock-on system while they're at it.

Fix the fucking crashse on the pc version.

More story content; it was weird how sparse and disjointed the story scenes in the first game were, and then the DLCs had far more cutscenes to them compared to the main game.
Tone down the loot system so there are fewer drops with more substantial differences.
Far more enemy variety.

>the PC version

lol

lets be honest, the game was in dev hell for 2 console cycles, it coming out at all - let alone being any good - was a fucking miracle, it's no wonder it was jank.

The real test is if they can sharpen it up now

You realize that this already exists in Nioh, right?

Yes, they need to do it better and make it accessible from early game.

That way, fucking grind autists can have THEIR section of the game to placate them, and those of us who aren't sub humans can enjoy more effort being put into the *actual* game

so you basically want sekiro, aka sickdark japanese shit

haven'f finished it yet but just face create, a couple more moves and fix magic/ninjutsu everyone is complaining about
I like the autistic detail and buffs of the loot system

maybe add a separate line of NG+ that is like Heaven or Hell mode
not 1-hit kill but just increased output on both sides

We don't really know enough about Sekiro to tell if it's "sickdark", looks like Tenchu with some light horror elements so far to me. New gameplay when?

Have more attacks that can be used on yokai, or more human enemies.
It felt like a waste to get counters and shit and never use them on anyone except the player ghosts

yes, aka just like ninja gaiden except more so, dont go halfway with epic dismemberments and then have the enemy explode into a colorful loot pinata while barney with horns waddles towards you in the distance

youtube.com/watch?v=Z4k9JD4oeNQ

It's sickdark trust me. Wait til you see this female monster boss.

I could see more dismemberments, maybe something you get for execution moves or killing enemies in Yokai mode

Nioh is literally perfection: the combat game. All they have to do is take base game and polish it up and improve it. Combat already feels extremely satisfying with how impactful you feel your hits and slashes are and breakable enemy parts, hope there would be more of those and more interactive combat & weapon skills to make it even more satisfying.

More waifus (and Maria making a return) would also be great.

Attached: 1546711155092.webm (1280x720, 925K)

Your bar for perfect is rather low. I'm not saying Nioh is bad but far from perfect.

Remove loot. Make the environments less samey and you have the best soulsclone

Agreed. I don't even have a major problem with the copy-pasted sidemissions: I just want all of the weapons and gear to be hand-placed pieces of equipment designed by a human being.
The focus on a Diablo-like itemization turned the game from a 10/10 to a 7/10 for me.

More interesting levels - Nioh had some great levels every now and then, but most of them were a bit simple
I think the game would benefit from having some more enemies in the "average mook but tougher and faster" category; and overall maybe slightly softer enemies but with smaller windows of opportunity
This is nitpicking really, all I want is more Nioh
I'm sad we won't see William or Okatsu again

Attached: spiderbait.jpg (1095x1109, 186K)

to add to this, the characters don't have much anything interesting going on. DLCs were a little bit better in that aspect I think. William and Okatsu romance was obviously cut, for one. Seems like they planned to make it more story-focused but scrapped a lot of that. Then they just left the kinda hollow William in.

Why are your suggestions so godawful, basically showing that you didn't even play the game?

What are your suggestions?

>William and Okatsu romance was obviously cut, for one.

I would have honestly hated the story if there was a romance plot going on. Okatsu having her unrequited love was good. The game didn't need a cheesy low iq romance going with the token female character, like they do so many times.

yikes. just play another dark souls game then.

How about you play as a Yokai in the sequel?

Nah, the final scene should have been Okatsu relaxing on a rocking chair 8 months pregnant and William coming back to the beach bungalow with coconuts and bananas and resting his hand on her belly to feel their baby kicking

Fucking cringe ass reddit tier shit. Stick to fanfic faggot.

>wahhhh
kek

I thought you are

Attached: A2WnsyLv5Bo.webm (1280x720, 3M)

Cool, excited to play it

>make it open world instead of level based
I'd rather take mission based with levels with lot of variety than open world.

Limb based damage like in Severance.

Is there a good way to play Severance these days?

Yeah, pirating.

Chalice dungeons

>Its not gory/ brutal enough
bruh, heads fly off like they're made of paper with blood squirting everywhere

that isn't brutal enough for you?

That's a given, I heard there were some mods to update it to work well on Windows but also read that it was a bit of a shitshow

NO RNG CRAFTING ANYMORE
please

character creator

>its perfect
>they just need to improve it
??????

I'm sure that you only need dgVoodoo to get it running without issues on Windows.

I'd like more weapons, or failing that weapon styles like Itto-ru focused stuff and iaido for swords for example. Entire moveset changes for a weapon type that you can tinker with further with the choose a combo thing that 1 had.

I wonder if people are still getting stuff to run on voodoo today.
Last thing I saw was some madman getting Doom 3 to run on one like 8 years ago

Character creation and better Abyss (more variety in stages etc. , maybe randomized stuff I dunno)

>cut
pretty sure he married her, historically.

I like the idea of different weapon styles.
Even if it's basically just a supercharged version of customising weapon skills

>historically
Maybe if you're completely fucking retarded since she's a fictional character.

>a fictional character
...who is based on his actual wife. Oyuki

>Adams' position gave him the means to marry Oyuki (お雪), the adopted [12] daughter of Magome Kageyu. He was a highway official who was in charge of a packhorse exchange on one of the grand imperial roads that led out of Edo (roughly present-day Tokyo). Although Magome was important, Oyuki was not of noble birth, nor high social standing. Adams may have married from affection rather than for social reasons. Adams and Oyuki had a son Joseph and a daughter Susanna

Except Okatsu historical backing is based on Ikugawas concubine Eishon as said by the ingame character gallery.

Mental to think about how that do be back then

how do I beat the DLC
this shit is fucking HARD
t.Odachi/Tonfa user

Which enemies are giving you the most trouble?

Farm revenants.

Where are you stuck?

the dual bossfights, mostly
Obsidian Samurai & Oda Nobunaga
Tachibana and the spear dude, etc.

Make the deep combat system actually matter, Nioh 1 rewarded you most for spamming your weapon's one optimal special move and nothing else

Make it not into a glorified diablo clone where you grind 1000 hours to be able to one shot bosses

Spammy combat is unavoidable and the loot grind and OP builds are what distinguishes Nioh from other games in the genre.

That's not the dlc content though.

character creation is already confirmed, which is a huge improvement
even if it's just more of the same then it's already a great game
but sure there are plenty of things they could improve like more different enemies, better level design, balance shit better so you cant cheese everything so easily

Attached: nioh2.jpg (1280x1275, 395K)

fuck

Get that tonfa skill that enhances your dodging in low stance and slowly chip away at oda

Drop Diablo loot

DLC is once you go up north
That's just post-story stuff

Two Kings is probably the most important bossfight in the game as a test of the player's abilities and composure

I thought he had a Monster in his hand from the thumbnail.

No, they should improve on it.

Why do people want character creation so badly

fucking aesthetic

imo it's way easier than oda and samurai

because samurai fashion is cool and Nioh had lots of armor and personalization

Not having to play through the same stuff 5 games with gearchecks to get to the end game would be a great start. What was even the point of any content before WotN and the Abyss? It could just have been removed.

Character creation isn't an improvement. It means we're going to get a really generic story with no personal dimension. No romance or anything either. Nioh did it well. It gave you the story of william, which was really great, and then you could just play your self inserted waifu character if you got bored of William. The people who make skyrim thots or spam these "post your last toon" thread got quickly filtered out thanks to it.

Attached: Nioh - Complete Edition Screenshot 2017.11.15 - 22.33.23.65.png (1152x648, 1.26M)

It's always the same shit, buff up, pop living weapon and murder the weaker one then fight normally.

Yeah it's not the hardest but as a definitive "am I no longer a scrub?" test, it's the one I'd point to

I said what meant and I meant what I said.

Then play Sekiro, looks like the game is made for you.

Kou Shibusawa shit has very sexy men

Attached: ao_nasi-takeda-shingen.1.jpg (900x1270, 207K)

I really hope they don’t nerf the fuck out of everything strong like they did with 1. Difficulty increases were exercises in how all enemies could 1-shot you with large health pools of their own, but you could also do absurd damage if you had a good build/setup. Devs nerfed every top build into the fucking ground, which made the higher difficulties tedious. I praised the game and it’s loot system because it was one of the few where you could really sit down and make yourself OP as shit. But they ruined that.

>your bar for perfect is rather low
And yet it's so much higher than soulstrash could ever achieve.

Waifu fags

You don't have to hate one to love the other

Fuck off

William barely had a story, his plot was literally muh waifu, and he was at all times autistic. Granted that helped.me identify with him greatly and I liked how little he gave a shit about things that werent his waifu, but that's because I'm an autist. To a normal person he must seem like a block of wood

>From baby got mad because Nioh isn't like Souls and has random loot.
Kek

A reason to use the combat system other than style points

>wanted Moth loli every since I saw her in first expansion
>don't get moth loli until literally the second to last mission in the 3rd dlc
Man fuck these devs so much.

I derive great pleasure from waifu fags crying about Nioh's missing character creator when they can literally choose not to play as william if they'd get far enough.

I wouldn't expect autists to understand the intricacies of social behaviour, without having a narrator to provide exposition to them. Hell, there are a lot of people who don't understand the scene when william and okatsu meet for the first time, because they don't exchange much words or provide the viewer with exposition. The story has really well fleshed out characters that all have their own agenda, goals and aspirations, without having to tell the viewer through dialogue.

You can play the DLC in any order you want and you need to finish the game anyway to unlock most of the game.

>You can play the DLC in any order you want and you need to finish the game anyway to unlock most of the game.

No, you can't. The difficulty is tuned for NG+++

>No, you can't. The difficulty is tuned for NG+++
But that's wrong, I beat the dlc on the first difficulty without much problems.
Had only to farm some revenants for equipment.

Is the game any better than it was at launch? I stopped playing pretty far into it because the mediocre level design and like 4 enemy types really put me off

>Muh intricacies
It's not that fucking complex, she's tsundere because Samurai are assholes and wirriam is gaijin. Wirriam staggers out bored out of his fucking mind because this party is lame my feet hurt I wish I was back home with my fish waifu

Then they don't really interact again until he rescues her at Ieyasus castle and William is shocked by Ieyasu not letting even his familial bond get in the way of his ambition

Being able to parry crit everything. Fuck your damage sponge bosses. If I have 99 fucking strength I deserve to parry fuckhuge ogres and whatever else. They could have done this in the first, each guardian spirit giving particularly abilities, but there is zero excuse now that our protag is half demon. Or at least tainted.
>but muh cheese
There will always exist ways to cheese, I just want to not have to autistically number crunch and have to rely on "builds".
>inb4 easy mode
You aren't special cause you like killing a boss with 80 hits instead of 40.

>No, you can't.
nigga what are you talking about? I literally played the last dlc first, BEFORE NG+, while enemies where 20 levels above me and still completed it. get fucking gud.

make the bosses and enemies die without making me actually have to kill them. sorry I'm not autistic and I don't think the game should punish me for not knowing the mechanics or what buttons to push

So when are we actually getting Nioh 2 info?

E3 or TGS
My mum works at Ninja

I'm not buying -this type of game- 2

Attached: 1446049578480.png (764x410, 14K)

my dad banged your moms fanny til it fell off

No Diablo loot system
Structure like Demon Souls or open world like Dark Souls
Maybe some levels on Europe
More waifus

They go to China. You fight Lu Bu.

br-brother?

>thread is still alive
Well shit, didn't expect such a pleasant surprise. I hope it's worth reading.
Exactly. Simple fact of the matter is most of the game's core issues would be fixed just by walking back to that version, but people are either unaware of the fact or don't dare admit it since it would make them wrong about an anonymous feedback test on an anonymous waterfowl husbandry board.

the director said they would do a big reveal early 2019

He's really not wrong though. Aside from the balancing problems and a long line of small nitpicks (why is there a limit to buff/debuff icons and why so small a limit when knowing what's up is so important?), the game has little to no genuine flaws.
You mean like how the game already is? Did you think finding full sets of armour, or wind weapons and amulets before an earth boss was a coincidence?

Is there still no info about the game?

Nope. Info is surely coming next E3 though since Sony won't have any first-party offerings.

no water level anymore pls

Nioh doesn't reward you for blindly mashing on one move, it just lets you get away with it for far too long if you're not paying attention or are boring enough to do so. There's a sharp difference, and considering your second line, not one you ever dared to look into.

The water level is unironically one of the best in the game.

it's not even the puddles but the random fags who summons me without lighting all the bonfires.

Drop the stupid diablo style loot.
More varied enemies
More varied level locations

Can't argue there, the average skill and intelligence level of people playing Nioh is downright shocking most of the time, it doesn't even make sense.

More enemy variety
Make it more difficult to kill human enemies ( I played long ago but I remember you could just spam moves and make them run out of ki)

Just better balancing, less one shot this and that but then again I never played a defensive build. But the few fights I actually sat down to learn mainly Nine Tails and Date bros in the Abyss were fun since I was actually learning patterns instead of just going for a one shot kill, now I'm thinking about playing it again.

Honestly I'm happy as long as they ditch the diablo loot. There's obviously room for improvement in every other area too but that was the shittiest part of an otherwise very good game.

I think that was part of the charm, although they did go a bit overboard. But I definitely don't want darksouls-style of loot system.

Improve the Diablo loot to make more builds "meta" instead of only living weapon strong attack

They're almost entirely avoidable with attack debuffs etc. which are actually extremely potent and available for any and all builds. The balance screwing just causes the Defence stat to be generally not very effective compared to all the other methods. But the reason Defence was dropped all round was to compensate for the many changes making the game more simple, which were done due to people complaining instead of looking into their options and learning the game. Yet the result gives even more frustration to those that complain instead of looking into their options and learning the game, just with the bonus of letting them get lucky and progress to what demands more than they have.

Nioh just needed more of everything.
More enemies.
More locations.
More enemies.
More story focus that actually involved your character.
More goddamn enemies.
More weapons.

Only thing it needed less of was the Diablo loot. There's nothing wrong with Diablo loot, but you could get over 100 pieces per short level, easily. It needed to be reined back a bit. Maybe crafting other than soul matching could actually be useful this time around.

let's make the spear the best weapon again

Attached: nioh sako.jpg (1280x720, 139K)

I don't know why people disliked the loot system so much.

I'll admit the "spend 30 minutes in the menu after a mission" is a little annoying, but I like the idea of customizing/upgrading weapons as much as possible. Makes all the bonus content worth doing.

I like the loot system, after you get the basic rundown on it it only takes 10 seconds to sort and unfuck your inventory after missions. What I do want is less loot in general, but make it better loot. I'd rather find one good weapon once in a while than have every enemy just shit out trash.

This. The biggest thing was enemy variety. A fair amount of enemies were just variations of other enemies.
Also, you could filter loot so that actually wasn't that bit of a deal. You could set it so you would only see gear of a certain rarity and above.

>soulsborne
Opinion discarded. Back to whatever shithole you came from, faggot.

>shit loot system that trivalizes the good gameplay mechanics
>no endgame
>poorly designed guardian spirit system
>same enemies
>awful level design
I could probably go on, but the game isn't perfect, it kind of underwhelmed me to be honest.

The exotic/orange items were interesting, they had some nice mods on them, hopefully it's more varied in 2 from the start if they decide to keep the heavy emphasis on the loot.

Ditch the mission structure, add more enemy variety, and make it so that you don't die in 3 hits from any enemy no matter how fucking high your HP is

IZA

Attached: Muneshige_Tachibana_With_Raiken.jpg (1920x1920, 610K)

Attached: nioh.png (700x789, 674K)

Remove RPG elements and make it an action game. This would make it perfect, prove me wrong.

Make enemies react to gestures.

SECOND. And add an instant kill mechanic like in onimusha.

No way pleb

Why actually take a minute at the start of the game to see how it works when you can use mass hyperbole and complain about something with no real problems?
That extra loot serves a huge purpose in letting you get additional currency, items and materials of your choosing, including during the level itself. There is not a single reason to use the pick up filters when you can pick everything up instantly anyway. Also the enemy comment isn't even true, there are very few enemies that have little to no moveset differences to others, and those ones mostly have elemental properties that still have an important effect on the fight.

nice bait

Make the game play like this. Also let me wear a red scarf.

Attached: Shinobi ps2.jpg (1280x1774, 309K)

>tea time gesture to duel bosses
>you both sit down and observe the tea ceremony

WHY IS THERE SO LITTLE PORN OF HER? SHE MAKES MY DICK DIAMONDS EVERY TIME

>mom! MOM LOOK! I beat Orcus the devourer of anuses using a wet tissue and no living weapon! Do you love me now? Are you proud of me? pls acknowledge my achievement
Get a job.

Only if I can get a non mayfly character from the beginning. Fuck unlocking joe musashi again.

>do kancho gesture against female bosses
>they turn beet red

I should play this again.

The loot doesn't trivialize the mechanics, the shit balancing decisions and lowered enemy count does.
Excuse me?
The system itself is perfectly fine and a good way of customizing your character and giving challenge and motive after death. Living Weapon is overpowered and using it became rather boring after removing full skill usage but all that again is related to boneheaded balancing.
Not actually true, plus there's more unique to each enemy encounter due to their movesets, the base mechanics and your own huge combat variety. More would obviously be great, but as it is it's not a flaw.
Extremely untrue, every main mission is well designed and brings it's own subtle gimmick to the table. Sidemissions are designed as such and offer additional smaller areas that are similarly well designed.

BOSS WEAPONS!!!

Wow this projection maybe you shouldn't play action games if you can't beat them without some OP trash. Your post is like complaining about someone beating NGB on MN.

Attached: Finalstand.webm (888x500, 2.41M)

I just want less trash loot, more enemy variety, maybe more weapon skills. That's it. Then it'll be perfect.

Are there still no news about it?

Are already in the game, along with boss sets, Guardian Spirits and some helmets?

>poopy! poopyhead! you're not a real gamer unless you do it in a way I like! *sucks on dragon dildo while thinking about battletoads*

>when you do the same thing you're making fun of that user for
Based absolute retard

Oh so you can use yuki onna's dagger and naginata and I didn't notice?Silly me.

Are you okay, user? Having an episode again?

Mixing sets was fun, especially once you get a Yasakani, hope it adds to the variety in 2 if they keep the loot.

But Nioh 1 was mission based and had zero variety lmao

Cant wait for a nioh 2 beta/alpha demo to come out and then have that shill spam webms in the dark souls and bloodborne thread

It's their first game user.
Despite being in dev hell for a decade.

Works on my machine.webm

>being offended on behalf of someone else
>having no reading comprehension
Based retard.

Damn dude just leave the thread lol sorry I like action games and think Nioh would be better as a straight up action game. Unlike you guys I'm fine with the Souls series being its own thing, I don't need a million clone games.

Get rid of that gay ass diablo loot system

Padding games with rng should be illegal at this point

>Character creation isn't an improvement
Pretty much the entirety of the Japanese audience disagrees.

>It means we're going to get a really generic story with no personal dimension
So, same as the first game? William was a cardboard cutout. Other than the few memes here he was worthless to the entire game.

Attached: c46916ebd0efc7829f3f53bc963004329df9ed772ea91bbcf8d157af19cc4e3f.webm (888x500, 2.98M)

>sorry I like action games and think Nioh would be better as a straight up action game
But I'm not against that you fucking idiot?

Lol, what would happen to gacha games then?

Fix the difficulty curve. Less punishing in the beginning, less of a fucking picnic when you are fully decked out.

Oh you're just throwing a fit because I called you a pleb. Nioh already has backstabs and the like for high damage/ohko, I don't think it needs an auto kill button.

and who the fuck cares about japs? Most of the sales come from eu and us

Why would you ask for boss weapons when what you really want is one very specific weapon? Anyway, it's not exactly the same but there is a frozen ice kusarigama, and 2 will most likely have a yuki onna inspired yokai transformation. Actually it makes me wonder how they'll handle what you turn into, that seems like it would be gender locked but I hate that in any game where it rears it's ugly head.

Nioh was in development for a decade?

>auto kill
You never played onimusha or genji, did you?

>and who the fuck cares about japs?
KT cares, because of those casual nips we got the inferior camera and more shit.

youtube.com/watch?v=j14e9zTnVbk

Japan, China and Korea completely overshadow the rest of the world when it comes to spending on games. This is why Japanese games that are too bothersome to licence overseas (such as the SRW series) are only distributed in Japan/Korea/China and they're still selling like hotcakes.

You mean like Mass Effect?

>casual nips
user, the westacucks are the casual ones. Just look at the western moviegames and which games top the charts there.

if theyre going to keep the loot, the endless dungeon should be more fast paced. i had absolutely no interest in watching that boat animation more than twice

He's talking about the beta feedback which was split by region. The majority of jap players wanted it made easier, it was a much bigger percentage than even NA or EU

No but that doesn't matter in this context, I know what "instant kill mechanic" means and I don't think that fits the action of Nioh. You are supposed to fight, not sneak through and one-shot everything hence it being an action game and not a stealth game.

I fell off Nioh 1 because I started to get bored with it, the loot system annoyed me and the combat was feeling kind of stale / repetitive but I wonder if I just had a boring ass character build or something.
Magic seems interesting, and I liked the look of the sickle and chain weapon. Does anyone have any advice on going into the game again or a build or something. I want to give it another shot.

Attached: 1393820612150.jpg (500x323, 54K)

Well if you like the kusarigama then I guess start the game with a build around that.

The combat is only as boring as you are. Try to figure out and use all of the weapons, there's no reason to limit yourself.

thats fair, I saw that theres a scroll or whatever that rewards you stamina for stance switching, seems like that'd make things a bit spicier.

>sneak
Shut the fuck up. In order to "auto kill" and enemy with the issen mechanic, you had to strike at a very precise moment, means you had to learn enemy attacks and tactics. Not every attack could be issened form either do the tension of combat was always there. And in case you were wondering, it didn't insta kill bosses, but dealt a nice chunk of damage, so you still had to fight the.. If fighting bloated enemies is your thing, good for you, faggot, but if I have the skill I wan tot be able to play in a a way other than "hit it until it dies cause we gave it 18,000 hp".

Magic literally broke the game, I just use to say this level I'm going to play with X and use X stance, but it gets boring making yourself boundaries, they should've done it better.

Can't give them any shit though, except the limb stuff in Surge Nioh is the only innovative thing in the soulslike games.

Oh ok so exactly like the parry mechanic in the first one?

It's a secret loading screen, to that end I prefer it to the alternative. Also it means they can do the ominous as fuck Twilight glow.
Use the sorting and selection options and loot will never trouble you. There are a lot of cool skills in all the trees and every weapon is fun to play around with, so you can go with what you like and change it up easily. Just keep in mind the main fun is learning the ins and outs of the combat mechanics, Ki Pulse, stance, skills, than just marching through with dumb damage that everything has. You get out what you put in.

How do you play as a girl?

So did you just completely miss the Ki and back attack bonus systems or..?

well, other games have managed to make repetition less tedious.

something with the teahouse guy, i forgot what exactly

Around halfway through you unlock a special shop that lets you trade Glory (earned through mainly online play and also revenants) for, among other things, skins to turn you into other characters. The girls are pretty expensive.

He's obviously just an angry retard. He immediately sperged about "mom look I can beat game with no hands so much time no job" as if putting time into the game to get good is a bad thing, but the mechanic he wants in obviously requires time and practice to get down as well.

Like Nioh, assuming you know the bare minimum of how to play a game. But following the reply chain it seems that's beyond you somehow.

2005
>hey, Dynasty Warriors doing well, lets copy that
2017
>hey, Dark Souls doing well, lets copy that

Not even little, since you could neutral issen, dodge issen and parry issen. The fist one is for chads who have memorized every single attack in the game. The second one, because of the controls, had the player have to manage multiple enemies while targeting the one you wanted to kill, and that left your back vulnerable since you couldn't 180. The last was the safest option, in my opinion, but it required perfect blocking. So no, it's not a casul thing, and don't shittalk if you haven't even played a game you fucking Yea Forumstard.

They're apples and oragnes, really.

>one-shot everything
What is hyper mode, don't give me that shit.

Fix the diablo loot system so there's not so much junk.
Introduce more Ninja Gaiden elements such as jumping and air combos.
Make RPG elements less lopsided and focus more on player skill instead of numbers.

Min/maxing faggots will never allow this to happen though since they want their stat autism.

It's always so hilarious seeing how mad people inexplicably get at just the mere possibility of a skill gap and someone being better than them at something. Unprovoked too, mind.

>turn this action RPG into an action game
Just because Ninja Gaiden is dead doesn't mean you're justified in being a parasite on other IPs.

see lol get a brain you sperging retard

Suck a fat oni dick you anger scumming white knight.

There's no junk. Everything has their use, especially once you complete the game and the last 2 rarities are unlocked. Then you need every piece of gear drop.

lol damn dude you are really mad

Whatever you need to tell yourself to get your failure of a life pp hard

No loot shit. I'm fine with having a gorillion katanas that you can slap random abilities onto, but they shouldn't spew out of random enemies and they should have more unique traits like the gunsticks. All of this incremental number grinding detracts from its satisfying combat system.

Make specific enemies give specific drops then?

Your projection says it all lol your angry posting will amount to nothing just stop posting and let the thread continue

I'm sorry, but Sekiro already shits on Nioh and it's not even out.
Nioh was fucking boring.

I don't see why not, it's always fun to pick up unique items from minibosses even if the weapon ends up being shit.

No one is forcing you to reply to me, micropenis.

Learning of this was a fucking trip. It's a small miracle that the Nioh we got was even half as good as it was.

>Let's have a cordial discussion pertaining to how Nioh 2 can improve upon its predecessor game, Nioh
It could start by not running its video files through some retarded Windows Media Player codec or whatever that Win7 and some GPUs can't handle or use resulting in the game being unplayable on those systems

>why not
No, just thinking of suggestions, cause TN will likely drop a demo and survey again.

The only thing the gunsticks achieved was severely limited the number of tonfa you should actually use to one. The effect is far too drastic and only hurts the variety in the long run. The reason Souls makes it work is because it's designed around it, weapons are much simpler overall and using multiple is more based around the situation. Nioh works just fine the way it is with the uniqueness being in unlocking the design and the fixed effects and set bonuses that have an interesting application for your build and playstyle without forcing or pidgeonholing you.

Give me the old blood on sword sheathing animation from the alpha instead of the dumb copied ki pulse sheath one.

>I'm fine with having a gorillion katanas that you can slap random abilities onto
But we got to go Way of the Samurai 3. Make a katana from scratch, fit it it whatever bells and whistles you want and grind materials to get its attack as high as it can go, that way everyone's happy. Fuck the randomized blacksmith upgrades though. Whoever put that in the games should have a goddamn corkscrew driven through their patella.

Spear is the most fun weapon type.

easiest*

That's entirely beside the point.

Don't forget the old loading screen music with the YOOOOOOOO. Hell while I'm at it, bring back the old 1kat vs yokai backstab animation. The only reason to really change it was the attack not staggering yokai causing it to sometimes miss, but they made that a thing anyway.

I can't go back to using spears in Souls games thanks to how varied the spear moveset is in Nioh.

That’s not Kusarigama or Odachi
>slash slash SLAM
>there goes all of your ki
>oh you’re up again
>slash slash SLAM
Pdachi is legitimately brainless, and I love the Odachi moveset.

I feel like the Kusarigama is the most ridiculously OP early game, but man the Odachi trivializes almost everything.

Both are overpowered weapons in a game of overpowered weapons thanks to the sheer damage output everywhere, though for all of Odachi's base simplicity Kusarigama is just so well equipped to deal with everything on top of not being so hard to apply either. Also I'm fully convinced the average Odachi's huge Break stat was an afterthought due to the wooden one being 1kat tier and no one can change my mind. At least it feels far more balanced.

I feel like I'm the only one that actually liked the diablo loot system
kills felt bountiful, the difficulty of a fight was reflected by the loot they dropped, and you can filter out rarity tiers you don't want to pick up
It's pretty nice overall

Kills should have just dropped resources, it feels good for a shitload of shiny lights to fall out of an enemy you kill, but it stops feeling good when your inventory is full of said shiny lights.

It sucked I hate it and it may be what determines whether I buy the second or not.

That's why the filter exists.

I liked it too. I feel like alot of the people that didnt like never took the time to explore the options given to them in regards to picking up/selling/breaking down weapons and items.

All they needed to do was make weapons a world drop almost exclusively with the occasional enemy drop, enemies should’t shit out a full armor set and a weapon as they fall over. Seriously, if they just dropped crafting components everybody would be happy.

>everybody would be happy
Speak for yourself fucboi

Most people that actually liked the game liked and understood the strengths of the loot system. Those that complain about it almost entirely are those that didn't notice the clear methods of navigation and demand a game be exactly like others instead of seeing it for what it is and realizing that the more you try to make something mimic something else, the more you make the differences that remain get to them, while removing the reason to play the different game in the first place.

Okay, everyone who doesn’t enjoy the tedium of constant inventory management would be happy. I get shit for liking the ME1 inventory system, but at least in that one you could turn garbage into resources anywhere in the field instead of having to go back to a shrine and reset your progression.

What exactly is there to manage? Just use the fucking sorting options the game gives you.
I have over 600 hours and managing my inventory has never been an issue.

Pull my devil horn

>halfway through the game on your first playthrough you can get items so good that you win every single fight with button mashing
>hurr durr loot system good
>hurf durf just play through the game 20 times to finally get to difficulty levels where this might not happen
Yeah, nah, cunts. Scrap the whole thing.

That literally, literally does not happen outside of having a set specifically maximizing equip drop rate and killing a boss. I regularly do full clears of main missions on WotN and higher Luck/drop rates and it takes several missions to get anywhere close to full. And it still wouldn't matter because the sort and select options don't care about volume.

If I have to stop mid mission and dump like 20 white items, creating a beacon that rivals the sun in brilliance, there’s a problem. Just let me disassemble in field.

filter out white items so you never pick them up again because they're not even worth disassembling anyways?

How about checking the option that prevents picking up whites?

I will agree that having a limited inventory size is pointless and adds nothing.
But unless youre going into a mission with your inventory half full already it shouldnt get that full.

>now I have a trail of glowy white breadcrumbs

muh awtism

The loot doesn't cause that, the shit balance does. You want to scrap anything, scrap Familiarity.
The problem is you, the game has your item count on the map screen. Pay attention and deal with it before going into a mission to begin with.
People are apparently stupid enough to let it build to this extreme, it would only get far far worse for them without the one thing pushing them to stop being so blind and actually learn to read.

Haven't followed Nioh 2, do we play as William again or a new character?

the only thing I want is less trash loot management.

You play as a Yokai now

>lock-on system
I never sued it with kb/m. Try learning how to play with it and a lot of game "UI" systems become irrelevant.

more enemies and better maps
give me a reason to explore
tone down the damage both ways

We create a character now.

dw user I'm on it but the artist is still occupied for 5 more months until it's my turn
