When the game was released, he changed to say that the Minecraft content was a boss, which I'm pretty sure he dropped that at this point.
Last thing he said about Minecraft is that it was NOT Steve.
So, the dude that started the rumor already said that he is not in.

Yeah, he was just re-stating what Sakurai said in the final Direct: "Since we've added all previous characters from Smash, the ones from here on out will be entirely new." It won't be a situation like Smash 4 where cut characters like Lucas and Roy were priced the same as the genuine newcomers.
