Comfy Nintendo Switch thread.
What are you playing this weekend anons?
I'm having a comfy time in Cities Skylines, just reached a population of 23k and growing.

I'm grinding some WoL to hopefully change my menu music. Also trying to beat my first chapter 4 boss of Octopath, Alfyn's. I'm a little under leveled and the poison fog keeps coming too soon
Been playing a bit of Salmon Run in Splatoon 2 which is fun, bit more chill than pvp. I also got Danmaku Unlimited 3 today to have another shmup to play after beating Shikhondo, and it's pretty great so far, fun as fuck. Still gotta go back to Shikhondo and get better at it though, also beat it without abusing the stupid damage of The Girl's supers. I also got a 1cc on Astebreed on hard, which I don't consider to be worth much, but was still kinda neat, maybe I can try and play that one for score now.
WoL was surprisingly fun, some parts frustrated the hell out of me but the rest was pretty chill to just go through.
Going to play more of Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition and probably some Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the side.
Tetris 99. I'm so bad at it but I just keep playing. I've gotten 3rd place three times.
>comfy
Only gay people and women use this word
I'm gay and a woman
I like to get pretty comfy with women, feels nice and heterosexual.
Why would anyone play that, or civ 6 or football manager on the switch. Those pc ports are so slow and sluggish, an absolute nightmare to play. Never play it on pc, it'll ruin the experience forever
Played it first on PC, but doing home office while growing my city on the side is the best feeling ever.
>What are you playing this weekend anons?
Idk honestly. I haven't been able to find a game to spark that interest I've had. Anyone got recommendations? Literally anything is fine as I am open to whatever now
Pokemon Let's Go, Tetris 99 and Deemo. I finished Travis Strikes Again a couple days ago and I really liked that. Kind of considering doing new game plus but I'm not sure how much that would add. So I might just wait for the dlc.
Get Monster Boy if you haven't already. Easily the goty 2018 to me.
Been going through my first 112% of Hollow Knight. Currently at 111% and all I need is to beat pic related and its fucking impossible.
I'm playing Lost Sphear and honestly I am having such a good time with this game. It just drips of nostalgia, with the turn based battle system, having some sort of depth to it.
>tfw still absolute trash in smash
how do I git gud
kind of a shit game but I've been playing Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, it's just mindless fun button mashing with my OC saiyan Paprika
XB2 if you're into waifus and deep RPG action combat systems. Music is pretty cool, too.
By deleting the game, user
Just got done with tales of vesperia and lost on what to get next. Getting recs from this thread. Might pick up that blind prince game
I've heard it takes awhile for it to open up is that true?
I'll definitely check into this one
Just downloaded Civ 6 while playing a lil Let’s Go Pikachu. Looking forward to diving in tomorrow.
I’m curious, my joycons keep jumping out of my controller/switch. Will getting a new set of joycons fix my issue? Anybody else have this problem?
(RE: Xenoblade Chronicles 2) Yeah, it's true. The first couple of chapters are slow, but that's perfect for some comfy gaming.
lost sphear if you want a nostalgic-classic feeling jrpg.
summoning satania...
Got NSBUD the other day for $45 was aiming for $40, but oh well.
Starting to get pissed that NONE of the games I pre-ordered through Limited Run have arrived yet, including one dating all the way back to September.
Won't really be playing any Switch games this weekend. Instead will be doing art practice and playing my Saturn.
It's been a bitch lately to find decent deals on Switch games. It doesn't help that the holidays are over and fucking nowhere but eBay has remotely decent prices.
Been playing mhgu, have a few more village quests before i get the earring then going to hunt hypers. I also preordered the dragon ball world mission hero edition. Dokkan is getting me ready for that. Legitimately the switch + ps4 is a god send this gen.
>switch
>Streaming Xbox game pass
>With that WiFi quality
Never happening. Not unless the rumoured new switch model has a vastly improved WiFi or lan port in the dock
> t. insecure user
>say it has shitty WIFI
>not using 5 GHZ WIFI
I don't who what shitty routers other people use, but the built in wifi is fine
> Why
just purchased octopath traveler
what am i in for?
t. Gay woman
I leave the house when I have things to do besides playing video games. And when I get back home I enjoy playing them on my 70" TV that makes the sub-1080p graphics the Switch puts out look like dogshit.
>Literally anything is fine as I am open to whatever now
Long shot probably, but I love this one.
> Literally anything is fine as I am open to whatever now
and this one
Nothing because my switch is on its way in the mail back from Nintendo Repairs.
holy fuck nintendies are pathetic
Nooooooo, this comfy comfy about comfy comfy comfy comfy.
If I get enough work done and can pry myself away from Frostbite, then Hollow Knight. I've still got pantheons, radiant bosses, and the trial of the fool.
Seething.
it's okay user. I am renting a tiny two-room apartment, have a TV, rarely take my switch outside (but when I do, it's indispensable), and still use play about 50% docked 50% portable, because it's freedom and flexibility even in a small apartment.
You're probably just using the gimmick because you feel like you need to to justify your purchase
I did that with my Wii U gamepad. The novelty was there, I can't lie. But I'm over it
obviously
disgaea 5
I take my switch to work all the time. Saves my ass from boredom
I've been considering getting a Switch for a long time, and I'm wondering if this deal where you get a bonus $35 for the Nintendo shop is the best deal I can get for it.
Honestly, that's probably the best you're getting. At least for a while. I'm pretty sure most of the bundles released before this also charged you for the game it came with.
There was a thing a while back where Gamestop was giving away gift cards with a Switch, but I missed the sale. I doubt they'll be doing it again, but I keep hoping.
I got my first tetris 99 win yesterday
It probably won't get cheaper until around Christmas I imagine.
>that epic moment when the janny saves the nintendo thread and then realizes i was phoneposting while fucking his mom raw
You're in for a good time my friend. Especially if you haven't played a old-school RPG in awhile. It will bring back some good memories. I didn't care for some of the stories, but the game is pretty solid.
How? It's been out for like over a week, did you start playing yesterday?
One-on-one some level 7,8,9 CPUS for warmup before you go online.
Is there a good co-op rpg on the switch?
nope. Unironically I had WiiU and tried doing that for the gimmick, but it quickly wore off. Switch is just natural for me to play however I feel like. Also playing in bed is nice. I started and finished quarantine in bed, for example. Started it just to check out for 10 mins before nodding off, and finished some three hours later at 1 am.
Arenas. Coms will give you bad habits. Go to locals if you have them.
Playing through GuP again on Switch trying to unlock all of the stages, although it is not clear what you need to do to unlock them, so I'm just playing through the modes
Does Cities run well on Switch?
Crystal Chronicles remaster is coming out at some point, people seem to really like that one but I don't know anything about it myself. Was thinking of trying to get my mate to play through that one with me myself.
plating through torna after a break of sony stuff
still haven't actually gotten that far due to a variety of reasons but so far most of my grievances of the base game are fixed, they even seemed to have (mostly) fixed the bloated health of enemies
kinda deciding what to play. narrowed down my list to nsbud (keep playing), okami (have the cart, but never started yet, looking forward to), firewatch (will need to buy it first, but really want to play it and chill)
>tetris 99
>in Europe
>always have a ton of insane Japanese players in my match
Same for US?
I NEED GAMES
I played like 4 days. Why do you assume that everyone is good at tetris? Loads of people never had a single win.
congrats user, I have yet to get there
I started playing Hyrule Warriors, since I was one of the roughly everybody who didn't bother getting a Wii U. It's OK, but I only really bought it out of a sense of obligation, since I hadn't played anything on it since Octopath. There's a disappointing lack of exclusives.
I'd probably say beat nsmbud if you've started it, though I've heard Okami starts pretty slowly so maybe you could play them along side each other.
all of the 3ds shit sounded nice but i never got it, is the switch version good if I played through the wii u campaign?
Have you tried Dragons Quest Builders? I tried the demo coz why not and now I've bought the game and I'm fucking hooked. Did not see that coming at all.
Dusted the Switch off since last playing it in July. Bought Smash Ultimate as my first Smash game.
After 6 hours I lost 9 times in a row to new challengers. I'm legit trash.
I haven't. What's the overall objective of the game?
leaning towards beating nsmbud too, it's a nice game, having fun.
minecraft but it's an actual video game and not shit+small bit of happy home designer
I am still waiting for a ports of few remaining WiiU exclusives - namely Xenoblade X and W101. Then I will buy Switch.
Smash ultimate, hyrule warriors definitive, BoTW. Somewhat excited for the announcement of the new pokemon game on the 26th, provided it actually happens. Either way, we're getting a new pokemon on switch sooner than later.
I'll give the demo a shot. Seems promising
are there a lot of anime type games for the switch? thinking of picking one up.
Since the vita is dead and ps4 is censored to hell and back switch is now the official "weeb anime" system, there's a lot.
Why would you get a multiplatform game on the Switch? I ask that as a Switch owner who has never taken his out of the dock. I've never played a game and thought to myself, "This is OK, but I wish I could play a version that runs worse, on a tiny screen, for a few minutes at a time."
I'd say go for that then, although new stuff is nice you don't wanna get distracted and never end up finishing it, at least I wouldn't.
Should I buy a switch now or wait for the inevitable new version? Please be objective.
Just wait for a good deal on a bundle
should i
I have crippling autism and multiple times I've bought a game on the ps4 instead of the switch for trophies. I hope they put in some analogous system, it'd give me a good reason to 100% botw.
>I've heard it takes awhile for it to open up is that true
Yeah pretty much. Game introduces battle mechanics slowly to make sure new players incorporate each aspect before introducing a new one. The "full combat experience" doesn't happen until the third chapter (of ten), and even then there's still skills and shit you can unlock to speed the combat up. But it's honestly not that bad, you always have something to work toward and the game's still fun even if you don't start with all the tools.
did you buy any of the DLC? the extra characters and adventure maps give you plenty to do. but if you're not really into musou there's probably better places to spend your money
The game is pretty good but it has a pretty serious enemy health issue where every generic mob has 5 times as much health as it should and if you change enemy health in the settings then boss fights just feel kind of shitty if you forget to change it back.
I didn't get any of the dlc, and I never played any other musou but i liked it pretty well.
At least wait for E3 to see if they're going to do a sale, bundle or revision.
I'll give it a shot user I appreciate it
Essential games for the Switch? I'm picking one up today with BotW and I haven't had a Nintendo console since the original 3DS. Never even had a Wii.
Since you played none of the DLC, there's probably enough new content in the Switch version to warrant a purchase
odyssey is the best mario game in ages
xbc2 is great
splatoon 2 is worth it just for the single player, i actually never even touched the multiplayer this time after not really caring for it much in 1
smash of course, again for the single player for me, but that's because no couch friends anymore
>I haven't had a Nintendo console since the original 3DS
So you skipped the Wii U. You could have just said that.
Buy one now and hack it. And if a new one is unveiled and you think it looks appealing and don't care it isn't hackable then sell your hacked one and get it
Do switch games ever go on sale? BotW is still like £45 at all times...
But brand new switches are not hackable yet
Mario + Rabbids is 20$ on Gamestop right now
They usually have really minor sales (like, 10-30% off) around the Holidays or E3, and even then most flagship titles won't be on sale, only third party or indie shit like Mario + Rabbids or Golf Story. I know Zelda was on sale for a short time last year, but I don't think Mario Odyssey has ever been
awesome. thanks user.
People already have Retroarch running on it
Nintendo games rarely go on sale
Thanks lads. They've always been very protective of their pricing I guess
1v1 level 9 piranha plant for 100 hours
The 20,000,000 switches sold before August 2018 are hackable
just got a switch cos of the game sales
is the cave story any good? should i wait for a new cave story? im not following the upcoming releases
Congrats. I got 13th place that's my best so far. It gets so fast near the end.
cave story is old as balls, it's pretty good yea
ok what about harvest moon
I use mine in handheld 99% of the time, plugged in, and unplug it if need to go take a shit or go kitchen and the game CAN'T WAIT. Same as with my laptop.
It's useful having that option to go wireless. Nobody will ever convince me otherwise.
>in home
>playing shitty 720p
>comfy
>720p small screen
Probably Tetris 99, I'm amazed at how addicting that damn game is. Honestly thinking of picking up Undertale since it's on sale and that I've never played it.
It's a real good game.
Got mad at Tetris 99, decided I had enough. Finishing Detective Pikachu on my 3DS and Onimusha on Switch.
6th was my best one. I have no idea how people win these, it's crazy.
I had something weird happen with my right joycon where suddenly the r button acted as a home button and took me out of my games to the menu but then i stopped playing for a day and now it seems to be back to normal
I just really want to know what the smash 3.0 update will add, i have hollow knight but i can't get in the right mood to play it tetris 99 is good but i always get top 10 and it is very stressing i wanna play something more chill
man i really wanted to see snes games on the direct
>Nintendies
Dark souls, mhgu and hollow knight
Maybe diablo 3 or warframe if i'm in the mood
Playing Octopath Traveler and began Tales of Vesperia. Still have to finish BoTW. Also one of my joycon is drifting away, it pisses me off.
My Switch Online trial just ended and I decided to buy myself 3 months for the sole purpose of playing Tetris 99, as I've been playing it non-stop since it released.
Who said that game wouldn't sell any subscriptions?
Planning to do the same thing after I finish Yakuza Kiwami on PC.
Pick up a furry character :3c
Tetris 99 was such a good idea and I hate them because I'm addicted to it.
Just sent it in. As long as you're in a civilized country, they will have to repair it for free within 2 years of purchase.
Skyrim because after I've played with mods for so long it's nice to play normally for a bit Might try to get into torna, bought it a couple of weeks ago after I finished the main game but I haven't got 3 hours in.
Still playing Super Bomberman R, gotta get them coins. I really want to unlock the 5 dastardly bombers, especially Golem. I also have Thunder Force IV, MHGU, Storm Trilogy, Bayonetta and DW8XLDE sitting in the backburner. Still waiting patiently on DLC 9 for Xenoverse 2.
Tbh I've been kinda obsessed with Bomberman for the last month or so. Don't know why. It's fun and simple yet also challenging and I can pick it up and put it away whenever wherever. Been playing the xbone version too lately. Master Chief and Arbiter are pretty cool and Grunt is cute. Thinking about PS4 but Ratchet & Clank kinda sucks. Feel like they kinda dropped the ball on that one. I dunno, might have to try the R&C games to better appreciate it, but they never looked that appealing to me. Pipo Monkey being playable alone makes the PS version worth it imo
>Get Monster Boy if you haven't already. Easily the goty 2018 to me.
Fucking this.
I'm really liking MHGU but I have no idea what I'm doing and I feel myself falling behind the difficulty curve
