So i saw the ancestral edition on sale this morning for 18 bucks. I went to work, got a 20 buck card and get home 30 minutes ago to see the sale has ended.
1. Is this game worth it? 2. Can steam honor a later sale at all or maybe the developers themselves?
The game is an excercise in tedium, even if you do everything flawlessly. If you're of the retard school of thought who thinks atmosphere alone can carry a game built around RNG and paradoxically non-existent customization, you might like it. If you enjoy video games where the gameplay is the front and center (if you don't, you're wrong), there is a very good chance you'll hate it.
Also all of the DLCs make the game even worse

Not gonna tie my debit card to a program i use once in a blue moon.
A great FTL player can salvage 98% of runs, and the whole design philosophy of the game is rogue-lite
DD is the opposite of a rogue-lite/like, everything carries over and you're always stuck with whatever happens, meaning you have to burn more time just to get back up to where you were if you fail. As someone who loves FTL, DD sucks.

Wait for a sale. It's a decent game, though a bit shallow.

Oh. That's a downer. Guess i'll save the 20 bucks for something else that catches my eye, eventually.
don't listen to this guy, there's a good chance this game will grab you if you liked FTL
don't be a brainlet with only one viable squad and this game's rng won't be able to punish you overly much
the only thing that may put you off is the sheer quantity of missions you need to get through to get to the end of the game
if that doesn't bother you then managing to have a large and leveled roster with gear means even if multiple missions get fucked by RNG you'll still be sitting pretty
in essence if you can manage to be good in both campaign management and battle you'll be fine

Maybe i'd like it, but i can't get excited for something i can purchase anymore anyway. Appreciate the counter input though.
