I miss acres.
Me too
Same desu. It made it easy to describe locations and find obscure places
Fuck you.
Give me a rundown of how this game compares to The Sims.
>good thread
>on Yea Forums
nice joke
I will never understand this. The camera angle, I understand preferring, but why would you want to bring back the awkward acre transitions instead of a simple scrolling camera?
I miss finding random furniture my neighbors buried in different acres
I would like a non-rolling pin world with larger acres and the ability to angle the camera slightly upward towards the sky.
Trying this out for the first time on Dolphin, when the fuck will coonman let me save?
Come fuck me yourself you fucking coward
Fuck acres. the pause transition was annoying and the camera angle made it so you couldnt see if anything was below the treeline unless you cut them all down
>look up item codes on the internet
>print out a fucking tome's worth of codes
>share them with my friend and blow his mind
7th grade was fun
You start the game out doing menial chores for Tom Nook to learn the game a bit. Once you finish with him, you can save the game anytime you want.
Sorry, too busy falseflagging (You)'s. Plus that would mean actually talking about video games. I'll throw you a bone with pic related.
Here's an idea - no one WANTS THE FUCKING PAUSE TRANSITIONS. WE WANT THE AREAS MARKED WITH ACRES THOUGH YOU FUCKING IDIOTS
Has anyone figured out the code for Legend of Zelda and Mario Bros yet? Supposedly last I checked you can only get those via Action Replay, and no Nook code works.
You can save as soon as you get the house if you talk to the gyroid next to the house
I want bat villagers so bad.
Who said it needs the screen transitions? When we say Acres we mean the camera angle not those hardware limitations that were screen transitions.
I love this villager idea
Well shit, wish I knew that sooner. Thank you.
Was bummed out we didn't get a trailer or anything.Would love a promotional poster.
No you can't. Gyroid prevents you from saving until you finish all the Nook chores.
Maybe learn to describe what you want better then? The term is "Isometric view"
Same! It would be hilarious if they had a custom reaction to being hit with the net as well.
どうぶつの森e+のほうがいいと・・・
アニマル・クロッシングよりだよ。
Bug villagers will never be a thing because you can catch actual bugs in game. It's "Animal" Crossing, not "Bug" Crossing.
Yes, no fun allowed.
Or learn to stop assuming people want awkard pauses and transitions instead of just the acre part.
and a ching ding dong to you too
What kind of animal villager would you like to see?
That's boring and rude user, I'll never date you now.
I see the problem here, you're a fucking moron.
Am I the only one who doesn't want to be mayor in the Switch game? Please just let me be a normal villager again.
>Bug villagers will never be a thing
You don know they didn't suggest a bug right?
A maine coon cat with a big ol' beard
Ew get away from me
I'm with you
We've actually had quite a few based AC threads this month. Keep up the good work, boys.
ARACHNID
Are you happy now, autist? You can still catch them in game as BUGS.
thats only for fossils though
Why can't the newer games reach that same level of comfy that the first game had?
wild world is pretty damn comfy
>as BUGS
No you can't...
Way too many gradients and fine details for a regular villager, AC's character design has always been pretty simple (At least up until Isabelle anyway)
Thank goodness someone else agrees with me lmao
fuck rolling pins.
But you can catch an octopus and characters like Octavian will react to it.
fuck YOU, literary nothing wrong with it
Lighting is too good
There are octopus and frog villagers even thought you can catch those species.
Based Sableposter. Making the player the mayor was a mistake and completely throws away the original theme behind AC about the struggles living on your own in a strange new environment. Every spin-off since NL has done the same, putting the player in a position of great importance. In HHD you're the project leader, in PC you're the camp manager. AC used to be different from other life sims in that you were never meant to be the one in control.
It would be a real shame if someone shitted this thread up with Isabelle lewds.......
the fossil-mail system in gamecube AC was really damn shitty
no, fuck you and your precious rolling pin, because it's a stupid design choice made for handhelds (and the wii for some stupid reason) that needs to be ditched.
I still don't get how the N64/GCN game has the best lighting system of them all, and it didn't even have a proper sky. It was excusable in WW and NL, but CF and PC's borderline cel shading just looks lame. Hoping the Switch game will have MK8-tier lighting.
how is it stupid. Unlike acres, you can wee UNDER trees, and buildings in the distance instead of having to go acre to acre
animalcrossing.fandom.com
A spider is a bug in Animal Crossing. Deal with it faggot. So is a scorpion in later games. Technically an arachnid, but generally a BUG.
They could have a camera that shifts. We're not stuck on the 64/gamecube anymore
>If I want something to be a bug, it is a bug, even if it clearly isn't a bug
Fucking liberal...
I really want to know what they were thinking with the fossil verification restriction
>museum curator knowledgeable of all local fish, bugs, and can even discern forgeries of fine art from around the world
>but he can't identify fossils due to certification reasons
>those have to be mailed away
>and they'll come back one at a time
>daily
>even if they were mailed in a group
All the AC games are good
dont forget, if you send 4 or 5 one is alrways just lost
PC was good until microtransactions and now I can't collect everything
it shifts when youre in your house. Ideally yah, outside would be great but no AC has done this. Rolling log isnt solely at fault for it
I wasn't thinking about pocket camp, I don't consider it an actual AC game
all of them are good but I still feel kind of stupid for buying city folk
Take it up with Animal Crossing bud
In this game, arachnids are bugs
city folk is actually terrible but otherwise yes
That's fair
I'll get a switch if the next AC is good
en.wikipedia.org
Technically bug only refers to insects of a specific order. Now you can accept bug as a general term for arthropods, or you can cry whenever somebody uses a beetle a bug.
This.
Walking causing grass to disappear is fucking stupid though.
Why are all you boomers such pathetic dumbasses who know nothing about their only hobby?
>I am right if I quote something that is wrong
That isn't how the world works user. Stop being ignorant.
I hear I wasn’t completely off base skipping City Folk.
I like Kid Cat!
Isometric is actually a very specific type of angle, man. Like, Q*Bert is isometric. GC Animal Crossing had a higher viewing angle, but it wasn’t isometric.
It's how Animal Crossing works, which is the game we are discussing. There's not a separate menu for "arachnids" they're all "bugs". Can you stop being autistic already?
This song is so fucking comfy
Top down/overhead doesn't mean isometric. The original games have perspective and aren't rotated by 45 degrees.
>Next game has an option to have a behind the player view, so you can see your town at the same level your character does
good idea?
>Can you stop being autistic
>says the man continually trying to argue his idiotic point instead of just accepting a fact as being true
Improper usage of a diagnosis doesn't make you any more intelligent or right. Now you have 2 terms you should work on learning the meaning of.
I don't even play video games, fuck off.
That is quite possibly the worst idea I’ve heard today.
VR?
This is an AC thread! None of us do!
God damn I wanna pet this bitch
I know how to use the terms IRL, but we're discussing it in context of the game. In which they are considered "bugs". Yes, it's technically incorrect, but arachnids are considered bugs in Animal Crossing.
more like the difference between Lakitu view and Mario view in SM64; one is overhead and higher up, one is ground level and centered on the player character.
>aren't rotated by 45 degrees
60 degrees
The problem with animal crossing is that every villager, despite unique visual appeal, doesn't have their own unique personality or unique interactions.
There's barely anything to be gained other than something to benefit your wallet or collection of junk
No storylines, no engaging character interactions, no villager specific events outside of ones that act as vendors for goodies
But god damn it I love it anyway WHY
I quit playing after that first Rover event. Those butterfly catch rates were the least subtle way to tell people to pay up if they want anything good.
Yes. Fuck the static camera, it has zero advantages.
why do people shill the gamecube version so much? it's dated as fuck and the series has come along way since then.
Less pointless modeling of your little diorama village consisting mainly of 2D sprites.
Sometimes simple is better.
Give me a cute picture of Aurora and I might be quiet.
We just like the localization better.
There’s some species specific dialogue and behavior. I’ll admit it is rare though. It is just fun to see all the stuff in the game. Decorating your house is pretty chill and remarkably rewarding creatively.
The characters feel more alive, like they had their own personalities and backstories. I would trade all the new furniture and features just to get my villagers all to feel unique and immersive again.
as long as it's only an option
>In which they are considered "bugs"
Animal crossing makes proper use of the term arachnid. Don't use the game as an excuse when even the game can get it right.
It depends on the scale of the world, honestly. I really want to see an Animal Crossing that feels like the map in Mario Kart 8, where the trees are huge and it can actually feel like a quiet town in a forest, rather than just some diorama you’re looking down at.
>Animal crossing makes proper use of the term arachnid.
Please show me
I can see the awkward zombie comic withher leaving moth dust all around town
I don't know about other people but the GC version had a bit more of a cozy feel to it. That is really important for a game like Animal Crossing.
animalcrossing.fandom.com
>Tarantulas are large arachnids that live in warm areas. They're sometimes kept as pets. They have sharp fangs and while it is painful if you're bitten by one, they aren't deadly to humans. What's scarier is the hair they kick off of their abdomens to protect themselves. The hair can cause serious itching and rashes wherever it sticks and can be rather difficult to remove.
Anything else you need spoonfed?
I mean, they didn’t. They still had the four or five personalities and backstories that are in the newer games. Even less variety. You can say you liked the writing more, but nostalgia is clouding how different one lazy was to another.
what stupid gimmick will they shove into AC Switch?
...
NL didn’t have a gimmick. Wild World’s was online? I guess. I don’t know, probably more cross integration with Amiibo and Pocket Camp.
>You've always been able to catch fish and amphibians that there are villager variants of (octopi, frogs, ect.)
>Insects are in Kingdom Animalia, which means they're technically still animals.
Isometric views are rotated 45 degrees around the vertical axis/yaw
NL's gimmick was mayor retard
you have to shake to walk
FUCK I'm sorry I didn't mean to call you retard I'm just in one of those moods
Jesus christ you call out this casual faggot for the retard he is and doesn't even try to hide his faggotry
Eh. Only one player got to be the mayor though. And I really don’t expect that to be removed. I guess the “city” only sort of got removed, so it might be there in parts. How about taking some of the HHD elements and having public buildings you can furnish like schools and hospitals? That was fun.
NL's gimmick was shitty localization and limited dialogue.
Wow it only took them until New Leaf to mention that they are arachnids, yet they are still under the bug category.
It is Yea Forums, man. We don’t have to pretend that it isn’t just because this theoretically is a comfy AC thread.
I want an apartment in the city and a summer house in the village like the 1% the game turns you into anyways. Let me take the train or a bus to the city and have my own space, let me walk to a noodle bar or a cafe and listen to KK playing, let me walk down a trashy alley only to find friendly raccoons and opossums hanging out.
dependency on the mail system.
No... They are rotated 60 degrees from each other. Typically, 30° is North, 90° is Up, 150° is West, 210° is South, 270° is Down, and 330° is East. As an API 570 inspector, I deal with piping isometrics on a constant basis.
>still under the bug category
There is only one arachnid in the game last I checked. There really isn't a good reason to give it its own menu. Most people can understand putting something under the wrong label just to simplify things doesn't necessarily mean that it actually belongs to that label. That is why "technically speaking" is a phrase to begin with.
Thanks for agreeing with me
There are scorpions in AC.
They're only sprites for performance reasons, since most Animal Crossing games have been on pretty weak hardware. Most objects have a 3D model already so you can place them in your home.
>all the time me and my family spent on the town in the Gamecube version, and one of the few times my mom has ever expressed interest in video games to the point that she was obsessed over playing the turnip stock market
Got her and my little sister City Folk years later, but it never really matched up to the original. I think the game truly died for me when I used an action replay to get all the money I ever needed to pay for my house, and realized that there wasn't much left outside of getting furniture and hacking in all the NES games.
Letter writing was finicky too. Other villagers wouldn't recognize simple line breaks in order to keep a word from being cut off by the end of the page. You either had to carefully space out words that wouldn't need extra space to look nice or just get a cut off mess that villagers would understand. I only did it since I could gift things and improve friendship though I do remember really engaging some of the other villagers through letters.
I will genuinely be upset if they go 100% 3D for stuff on the ground. I can’t really explain why, but the whole walking on stuff to pick it up wouldn’t look right. Also, I could’ve sworn like trees and shit are sprites too.
paid online is enough. for now..
Yeah, I was thinking two before typing then managed to have a horrible brain fart. Thanks for the correction. Would be interesting if they branched out enough to warrant other lists such as arachnids.
There are actually 10 arachnids in the game.
>scorpions
>spider
>tarantula
>spider crab
>mitten crab
>snow crab
>red king crab
>hermit crab
>horsehair crab
>horseshoe crab
Crabs are fish
city folk is great
Aside from only having one generic song for rainy days GCN AC still has far and away the best soundtrack in the series. Hopefully they step that shit up for the Switch game or just give us an option to use the GCN hourly.themes
comfiest tv youtube.com
I WANT TO FUCK THE ANIMALS
Crustaceans are part of the same phylum as arachnids but they are not the same class. I forgot about the spider being included though.
I'm taking about isometric projection, which is an orthographic projection obtained by rotating the camera 45 degrees around the vertical axis and atan(1/sqrt(2)) around the horizontal axis
Have furries not made their own version of AC yet?
>grass erosion
Absolutely not
Please no more locking characters behind villager suggestions that they never give
>Want the police station so I can see the cop doggos
>literally was never suggest in 500 hours of gameplay
>in fact after 100 hours they stopped suggesting projects altogether, even when I deleted projects to keep the town under max
Im mad, just give me the good boys
Absolutely untrue. Nook even has dialog for if you come back to resume your tasks on a later day.
>Want the police station so I can see one of the cop doggos
no, they haven't found a patreon to fund yet.
I liked playing hide and seek with my villagers. Gimme more fun games to play with the NPCs.
Day of the Leash is coming, Isabellefags
Uchi villagers are best, agreed?
why has no other Animal Crossing had this good of music?
Shit I get what you were saying before. I wasn't processing that you were saying the game has one rotation but not the other. Sorry for trying to correct you.
you keep saying this, and it never happens.
Based
This game will forever have a place in my heart if only because it's top tier comfy OST.
youtube.com
I still remember playing it all holiday season because my family life sucked and this was a better Christmas than I got IRL.
I love how the first AC game was the only one to have a second leitmotif hidden throughout the hourly soundtrack. You can't hear it on the title screen, but it's most prominent in 9AM and 4PM.
youtu.be
Kek
I remember the first time I ever fired up Animal Crossing in the middle of the night and this shit started playing, it was like I was playing an entirely different game than before.
When we will get proper human villagers in the next games?
Having the player as the only human in the entire series, aside from the multiplayer and online multiplayer feels odd.
Was there ever a game with so much soul as ACGC?
The singular rain theme was kino, are you kidding me? Would you rather have this
youtu.be
Over this?
youtu.be
No, I'd rather have had rainy mixes of all the god tier GCN hourly themes.
this nigger gets it
Hopefully the Switch version brings back that same soul
While it'd be cool to have a human special NPC that only appears for some kind of event, I think even that might take away too much from the series staple of you being the only human around. I think what NL did where you could "talk" to other players' characters in dream towns and the Happy Home Showcase is enough. They even had their own Animalese, which was cool.
Maybe they could slightly expand on that by letting you choose your character's voice tone for whenever they'll show up as an NPC in whatever situation.
There can be no soul if the developers don't have the soul to make it soulful anymore. It seems like they're mostly focusing on the female audience and trying to monetize the series in that direction while leaving all the boys behind.
Is there any way to make a villager wear a specific custom pattern?
gift them a shirt with the pattern???
How do you do that?
I know most people will call you a dumb incel for this, but it's true. Population Growing was the definition of a game that was made to be enjoyed by literally anyone, regardless of age or gender. Ever since New Leaf it's become clear that they're leaning more towards a female audience by making dialogue less harsh and such because they make up over half of AC's playerbase.
I'm a girl, yet I liked the characterization/dialogue in PG a lot more than in the recent games.
I'm gonna make a guess here but I think little girls are the reason why they changed up the characterization, the same reason why Resseti was made optional. The mean characters and Resseti scared them too much.
I think so too. Disappointing.
In all honesty, fuck Resetti. I payed for the game, and I'll reset as much as I like.
I doubt it, but I hope the villagers can be rude to you again. Maybe the newest game could have a sort of 'difficulty mode' for the older players where Resetti comes back along with the asshole personalities. 'Easy mode' could be how it is in New Leaf. A girl can dream.
>we've reached a point where fucking animal crossing needs a difficulty option
there's no way they're bringing back nasty Resetti after all the complaints they recieved from Soccer moms and the like.
>making up bullshit
kill yourself, incel
so how about that switch game?
My hopes are that the Animal Crossing Plaza app on the Wii U was a tech demo and the basis for the new game, because that shit was soulful as fuck.
youtu.be
You would need a good game as the thread topic first.
I wish I used this more often before Miiverse shut down. Hoping the Switch game will have something similar to this like what Splatoon 2 did.
Made perfect town a lot easier since they would actually just tell you "plant more shit in acre e-3" or whatever instead of saying "uh, like, put more trees somewhere. but not the wrong somewhere, or else we'll penalize you for that too"
You don't have to finish all of them, but you do have to get partway. I think it's after the letter-writing task or something.
I downloaded it yesterday: it's my first AC after an attempt to play the game in my 3ds, what should I expect?
I haven't played animal crossing since the first AC that came out on the DS, but if a switch one came out I'd hop on it in a second and blow so many fucking hours. Provided they don't shit it up with any kind of micro transactions, I haven't heard of any games having them before I saw an user mention it in this thread but I also haven't been keeping up with AC. What kind of micro transactions did they push in the newer games?
Fat Albert, you are like a broken clock!
comfy
don't change the clock, just let things happen at their own pace
I plan to play the game in short bursts, I hope I won't miss anything substantial
The phone game is the only one with real microtransactions, where it's the usual premium currency, lootbox, and gacha shit in every phone game. In the main games the worst they've done is add a handful special Amiibo exclusive villagers like Wolf Link, Epona, and some squirrels based on Splatoon characters.
Oh, well that's not bad at all. Why was user complaining about phoneshit in a phoneshit game? It's to be expected. As long as they're not fucking with the mainline I'll be satisfied.
Animal Crossing direct when?
>enter animal crossing thread
Oh boy here we go, it's probably full of new leaf perfect town spergs
>people remeniscing about the atmosphere of the original
Really takes me back. The level of soul will never be achieved in future games. The series has become too bloated and formulaic.
Fun fact: Even though decapod crabs and horseshoe crabs are both in phylum arthropoda, decapod crabs are in subphylum crustacea and horseshoe crabs are in subphylum chelicerata (the same subphylum as arachnids). This means that horseshoe crabs are more closely related to spiders and scorpions than they are to decapod crabs. I just thought that was interesting.
It's hard to expect anything else really when the core gameplay is so simple and all the later games are more or less just ports of the previous ones. The way I see it, there's not really much to be improved on, every new generation AC release is just meant to make it easier to keep playing AC on new hardware and to introduce a new wave of people into the fanbase, of which it does perfectly. There's really not that big of a difference between each game which is why I think it's kind of silly to shit on people who have only played the newer ones. They're all so full of SOUL
You can catch frogs, octopuses and tutles.
>ywn go to animal crossing town
IT'S NOT FAIR BROS WHY EVEN FUCKING LIVE
Nothing compares to the original. I guess if they went to lengths on making the music catchy and the lighting/perspective and atmosphere top notch it could be better.
Because all AC games are slightly touched up versions of each other, for most people their first AC game is the one that feels the most soulful, the other ones feel like slightly more or less modern versions of it, and there's nothing bad with that. I assume AC on the N64 was your first one?
New Leaf at least got rid of the invisible acres
Still lying in wait for more information on AC 2019. Hopefully it's more akin to leaf, happy home designer was fucking terrible.
Then again, pikmin still hasn't seen ANY information at all, no logo no release date not even a picture. If that series isn't getting anything, then neither are we.
>N64, GCN, e+
15 villagers max
>Wild World
8 villagers max
>City Folk
10 villagers max
>New Leaf
10 villagers max
>population growing officially the best version of the game
>for most people their first AC game is the one that feels the most soulful
The original has the best atmosphere. This is fact.
I'm both hyped and terrified for the next game. What if they fuck it up beyond repair? Worse, what if the nu-fans win and any complaints about said fucking up are drowned out by them?
I hope Nintendo announces an AC Direct soon so I can mentally prepare myself. The future of this franchise is set to arrive this year and we still know jack shit.
City Folk is great.
you could even count GCN and e+ as 16 if you include the islander
>I miss acres
but the loading transitions were bad
>NO NOT THAT PART OF ACRES I MEAN I MISS A NEW SYSTEM THAT DOESN'T EXIST YET
yikes okay
>I miss having to physically walk around just to look at crap items villagers left in the dump
Post feet
?
you have to physically walk to the dump(ster) in all the games
but in the first game you have instant visual of if there are any new items thrown out
City Folk's hate stems from the fact that it's just a "okay" game in a series that usually has great games. I guess having an enhanced port of WW on consoles was cool and novel at the time (I wouldn't know, I wasn't into AC back then) but NL rendered it near-useless by doing everything it did but better.
There is nothing in City Folk that GCN, WW or NL didn't do better besides graphics. I appreciate it for introducing great new characters like Labelle, Kicks, Phineas, etc. and giving us WW's soundtrack in high quality, but there's really no reason to go back to it now.
Sims is more focused on creating lives for your characters. Jobs, house, family relationships.
Animal crossing is more focused on exploring, collecting, making money and traveling.
>the only argument logfags can make against acres is the one problem that was only there because of N64 hardware limitations
Zoinks!
>walk to
not what I wrote
>but in the first game you have instant visual of if there are any new items thrown out
yet still have a less convenient way of identifying them
So whos your fave villager? Do you have any hopes?
>the sky doesn't exist
>people keep saying they hate rolling log to they remove trees from the game
>add dating and marriage
>procedurally generated open world
>able to romance all villagers in first person and interact with them via touch screen
>people keep saying they hate grass degrading so they remove grass
>nook now sells cars
>buy a car and drive to a nearby city
>become mayor of city and build your own city
>Isabelle now pops up every loading screen and quotes a meme before dabbing
DID SOMEONE SAY "GOOD FUCKING"?
>stand over the item to see what it is
vs
>tap the item to see what it is
I don't see the big deal
>City Folk's hate stems from the fact that it's just a "okay" game in a series that usually has great games
And what makes it only just "okay"?
> I guess having an enhanced port of WW on consoles was cool and novel at the time
This doesn't make it any less of a game.
>NL rendered it near-useless by doing everything it did but better
Untrue.
>There is nothing in City Folk that GCN, WW or NL didn't do better besides graphics.
Untrue.
>there's really no reason to go back to it now.
It's the last real Animal Crossing game.
That is an actual good argument against a top-down view, but it's personally never bothered me. I'm hoping the next game drops both top-down and log in favor of something pic related with C-stick camera control.
In Wild World, Benedict the Chicken was my best friend, then in New Leaf, Kidd was
post the lists of all of them
press up on the d-pad
That looks nice, but I think the tile system is an integral part of animal crossing
So you want Crossing of the Wild
>play the fuck out of AC as a kind
>Get the whole space set
>Nearly catch all bugs/fish
>Go on family vaction
>Dad gets Uncle to watch the house
>Uncle brings over shit-spawn
>Shit-spawn erases my fucking AC file
Still mad to this day
that's pretty sad, user
>"Dad said it's my turn to play the game!"
>erases my Buu's Fury save file
>Untrue
Name an actual good thing exclusive to City Folk that you can't find in any of the other games. Big town with cliffs was already done better in the first game, interaction with special NPCs was done WAY better in Wild World by a long shot (CF reduced episodes from multiple dialogues throughout the year to a 10-day event and cut Sable's stories beyond the mention of her parents) villager dialogue was already watered down in CF and done better in PG and WW, custom designs were better in NL, atmosphere and music was perfect in PG and only went downhill since, anything else I'm missing?
Yeah, that is a pretty big reason for why they'd never go that far. I'd like to see some kind of in between. Keep the tile based world, but make the size, scale and visuals similar to to MK8 track.
>that abrupt stop at 0:16
yikes...
I feel like you're setting yourself up for disappointment if you want the next AC to look like that.
>Isabelle now pops up every loading screen and quotes a meme before dabbing
They could unironically add this and Isabelle's Smash secondaries on Twitter would fucking lap it up
Most of this is either small, insignificant details or stuff that was already in WW. The only real losses are the credit card, Gyroid storage, and the absence of Serena and Frillard in newer games.
Compare that to the myriad of features that have been missing since WW.
youtu.be
The original N64 game didn't have a museum at all, so they needed a separate way to identify fossils. I don't know why they wouldn't let Blathers identify fossils himself when they added him though.
>this will result into more porn
And thats a good thing!
>Most of this is either small, insignificant details or stuff that was already in WW.
yeah sure, whatever you say
me utterly btfo how will i ever recover
>Compare that to the myriad of features that have been missing since WW.
What you said of City Folk could be said the same of AC:PG
>people keep saying they hate grass degrading so they remove grass
I know this is too retarded even for Nintendo, but that is exactly the kind of retarded thing they'd do.
not even the worst suggestion in this thread.
they didnt show any animal crossing footage for the switch release because they are working so hard on it right?
Same reason Able Sisters doesn't sell clothes in the first game. The devs probably thought it'd be too hard to rework things like that, so they waited until an all-new game (WW) to do so.
I want Isabellefags to leave. This thread is for people who actually care about Animal Crossing.
>all these people hating city folk
Ok. I get the complaints. City is underwhelming and there isn't a lot to do. I played more of City Folk than New Leaf and Wild World.
They're saving the title reveal and gameplay for a huge AC Direct that will blow everyone's minds
R-right?
It is funny because if it was not for isabelle, nobody would care for AC now. Its only thanks to her that the series got any popularity
same thing applies to Lyn and Lucina from Fire Emblem.
since when was Animal Crossing about doing things other than grinding?
5/10, made me mad at the thought that there are actual isabellefags out there delusional enough to believe this and got me to reply
>It is funny because if it was not for isabelle, nobody would care for AC now.
there is no game series as good as animal crossing for what it does in existence
life sims are nearly extinct; can't afford to lose AC
on the other hand, you are right in the sense that New Leaf threw out a lot of staples to the point where it feels less like an Animal Crossing game, which would turn off older fans at least until the next game was revealed and reverted.
Animal Crossing was popular enough before New Leaf. It doesn't really need to be popular anyway.

Maybe it's just me but I feel like villagers had more personality in the gamecube game.
You could talk to them like 50 times and they'd still say something unique every day. And if you spoke to them too much they'd actually get pissed and tell you to fuck off because they have other shit to do.
Now they have like three sentence long dialogues, and they repeat themselves after the fifth conversation. Fucking hell, how has AC as a franchise only gotten worse and worse?
and they always talk about food
>how has AC as a franchise only gotten worse and worse?
Because we all know it'll sell anyways.
some one say good thread
I sure love animal crossing
Which AC game(s) can I emulate on android phone?
I would pet her so hard
Over ten years ago, I walked into the living room as my mom was watching TV, and there was a story about a family who wanted to sue Nintendo because Resetti was insulting their daughter.
City Folk was a Wild World rehash, but the online was kino. Keyboard & mic support, doing glitches with friends etc.
I'm okay with being a cheap shit and only playing for like 5 minutes a day. I know the right way to play is pouring money in like a cheap slot machine fora extra tickets but fuck that.
