Sekiro is tenchu shit, I don't think there'll even be online play? Code Vein is in huge trouble. They released information too soon before the release date and people are already forgetting about it. If it releases this year it needs good marketing for the weeks before release day. Also needs to fix the ugly faces and proportions on some characters like the tiny FAS mouths and stick figure arms and legs.

The levels were demo only, IIRC. There are a few that looked a lot more interesting. I also like how the combat looks so far, especially how you can mix in drain attacks to your standard combos.

with sekiro the combat is different and we loose the rpg/mp mechanics..but my point is that there's people who play through most of the game with some of the initial weapons and armor and disregard the entire rpg/mp elements. Im guessing simply based on the hook and combat right? cause all other elements are basically souls

in terms of combat, ninja gaiden never had that focus on parrying/blocking and was way less strategic. Also no posture system (which is basically an upgrade from souls poise). Also pretty sure you could cancel animations in NG which is a big part of the souls combat that comes back in sekiro

I saw Mido at some ruins at the Cathedral of Sacred Blood yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and get in the way of him experimenting on orphans or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his blood veil shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my Ichor farming, and I heard him monologue as I walked off. When I came to loot some corpses up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen crying orphans in his hands without beating the boss.
The Successor of the Rib Cage at the arena was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to beat the boss first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the boss fight.
When she took one of the children and started stabbing it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to stab them each individually “to elevate mankind to the next step in evolution,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s scientifically viable. After she stabbed each orphan and put them in a bag and started phase two, he kept interrupting her by monologuing really loudly.

If I remember right there is a bond mechanic and increasing that bond with a character improves their combat AI.

There is an affinity mechanic similar to Persona.You can give them gifts to raise this. Different characters like different gifts.

I think Bamco underestimated the demand for Code Vein. I think it was originally supposed to be another budget anime title but when they saw how much hype it was getting they decided to delay it and actually put some time/money into developing it to be a new franchise rather than just another throwaway title.
