Joined an over saturated market and did nothing to distinguish itself.
didn't capture the chinese audience
it wasn't even released in asia
Bad timing and worse marketing.
>did nothing to distinguish itself
It had the antigravity zones
Cliffy B made it
Niggers
Ugly designs
Gameplay not casual enouugh
it was too good for the brainlets who make up the majority of gamers
It had no hook to seperate it from Overwatch, so it was effectively a worse version of the game. To put this into context, Apex Legends was able to grab a market share from Fortnite by adding in hero shooter and team based elements which cut out its own Niche. And before you fucks get all teary eyed im talking about success not quality, they are both shit games in a shit genre.
Bad advertising with hackneyed "cool 90s frat bro" vibes, "hurr sjw pandering", and bog-standard "gritty sci-fi" aesthetic aside, the fact is that there's NO AUDIENCE for arena shooters anymore. Nobody plays them or enjoys them enough to keep the genre alive anymore. Apex Legends released with NO pre-release marketing, gay characters, and a similar "gritty sci-fi aesthetic" but is doing great because there's actually an audience for it outside of the same dozen or so people who have been crying for more arena shooters for years but then barely play them.
>Saturated market
>Lack of visual clarity
>Hitscan weapons in game where the player flies in the air
>Apex Legends was able to grab a market share from Fortnite by adding in hero shooter and team based elements which cut out its own Niche
tbqh i think its just respawns, a smaller map and actual good shooting mechanics (no bullshit bloom on guns) that brought in players
Apex characters are Lawbreakers tier in terms of charisma and memorability
It look like Unreal Tournament. Game that was popular 15 years ago.
It's not even worth the time to write a compelling argument about it, here's an anime girl.
i already love her
>Charisma and memorability.
Listen storyfag, no one playing these games gives a shit about the characters beyond what they can do mechanically.
Little to no marketing, Cliffy's weird attitude and launching in an oversaturated market.
A f2p game, but you pay for it
Wasnt bad, but lacked content and hook as said above.
>break the law
>expect to be paid instead of arrested
it was a retarded plan from the beginning
>shit team makes game #1
>ok team makes game #2 based on #1 that takes over with quality and marketing
>great team makes game #3 based on #2 that takes over with higher quality and offering minor changes
+1
$29.99
You're just plain stupid if you refuse to believe that apex legends was specifically crafted as fortniteXoverwatch, specifically to steal both of those games' dwindling playerbases
>just plain stupid if you refuse to believe
there's an eye opener. attaboy
...
>too fast for normies or to be played on consoles without gyro
>too uninspired visual design, literally no personality
>literally got in the market in the moment arena shooters lost the crown of "normie game" to Battle Royale
I didn't expect it to fail this hard tough.
5 years too late.
They told us to fuck ourselves and buy the game way to late
Tried to force a political agenda down everyone's throats. Most people don't respond well to that. Especially when we just want to play a video game.
Refusing to go free to play. The game was actually pretty fun, but the abysmal playerbase destroyed their chances of anyone else actually buying it.
I wonder why nobody was interested in all the promotional advertising that went into this game...
Obviously Overwatch had bled a pretty big chunk of its playerbase in the past 18 months, but was Fortnite already haemorrhaging players pre-Apex?
>Published by Nexon aka the company that gives zero shits about their games
>Steep rec specs on PC
>No tutorials which is off-putting to newcomers
>No bot support
>Lore isn't fleshed out at all
>Character design isn't reconciled with the sense of speed, it can be hard to tell who is a friend and who is a foe
>Overwatch had already demolished the entire Hero Shooter market to the point where nobody tries anymore in favor of Battle Royale
None of that $60.00 multiplayer only bullshit.

>Lawbreakers
>You don't break any laws
>arena shooters lost the crown of "normie game"
wat
You poor naive soul
Was just about to post that. What a masterpiece.
Crime doesn't pay.
>Cliff: You can gravity blast yourself to other side of the map in this game!
>Interviewer: ...exciting...
>Cliff stares blanky elsehwere
Never heard of it.
