I'm not really an RE fan, only game I've played and completed was Revelations on the 3DS.

Ports are bad for consolefag worshipping, but good for anyone who wants to play games who might not have played or owned other machines. It's bad if the machine is only ports, but pretending like bringing more games on a current platform is bad is buttfuck retarded. It's not bad that Re4 and REmake are or might be available on Switch. It also makes sense to bring every WiiU game to Switch because nobody bought a WiiU.

I wish they would just port the old games wholesale and skip trying to remaster them, just let them continue to exist in some form.

you can reverse engineer shit from the base game, you don't need pure source code to do it. its just konami views it as a waste of time when all they would have to do is get blue point to do it instead of just getting an inexperienced company like last time.

They even considered hiring Blue Point too much of an investment and went for an ever cheaper porting alternative. That's how little a fuck Konami gives.
