What does this even mean? It almost seems like a non-criticism.

I was never a fan of how the game is broken up into 3 distinct segments. Just think - if it weren't for that stupid stealth segment we wouldn't have that asinine "zero suit."

>tfw nobody acknowledges Zero Mission despite being the best 2D game in the series because everyone has nostalgia goggles for Super Metroid.

Nobody is saying that Super Metroid isn't good but it hasn't aged well meanwhile Zero Mission has aged like fine wine. It's truly the best in the series.

I don’t know how you guys can think this. I played it for the first time a year or so back and it almost put me off of the genre. I get they put some stuff in for the people who actually do skips and stuff, but having tons of the unlockables only available when you more or less beat the game was a shit decision. And there were genuinely arbitrary map unlocks rather than being based on power ups. I just didn’t like it for some reason. It made me think that the only reason I ever liked Super was because I was in high school when I played it.

>peak
more like starter

ZM lacks content and is over before you can get really invested, that or you do the weird stealth segment stuff after

nah, pick related is peak metroid. Has heavy exploration but also challenging gameplay and fantastic bosses
