They are depressing as fuck, but they are also genuinely good. Klonoa 2 was called the perfect platforming game by Critics when it first came out

Klonoa 1 and 2 are pretty fucking good. It's sad they haven't seen a modern port or a Klonoa 3.

>depressing
But it looks so fun? Can you tell me why it's depressing without spoilering me?

Let's find out!

No I can't.

Without spoiling, all I can say is that the friendships are a rollercoaster of emotion

Memeing

Guess I'll have to play it.

I played most of Klonoa and its a very solid platformer. Very unique.

They aren't depressing at all. The stories are fanfiction-tier.

Heavy themes with a syrupy sweet exterior.

get the gag, boys

No only kemoshota furries like him

Unironically they're good games, but it's really hard to explain how. It takes advantage of 2d in a 3d space in a way most other games do not. Plus, the different enemy types and how you interact make puzzle design and traversal pretty fun.

What do mods have against Klonoa? They keep deleting them. They haven't even been that bad recently.

They are good, really good, actually. They have charm, too but they fall by the mascot craze of the 90's mid 2000.

1 & 2 are the best the series has to offer

The 2 GBA Sidescroller spinoffs are slightly shallow, but entertaining.

Klonoa heroes is kinda Repetitive for an rpg, and it's only available in moonrunes so i cant comment on the story, probably isn't great.

Klonoa Moonlight museum on the wonderswan will make your ears bleed, but its basically an older version of the gba titles.

Klonoa Beach Volleyball, does what it says it does. But its unremarkable.

But a Klonoa 3 ever came out, to continue the franchise i'm sure it'd make waves. Definitley not a series that deserves to be dead. Poor marketing put the nails in the coffin with Klonoa wii.

They are as cute and wholesome games, but also they take those sad moments from Disney movies or old Kid's anime and expand upon them. The ending of the first one is a rollercoster of emotions.

I think is as simple to say that they are just really solid platformers games, that even if really easy, they are full of charm. Nothing expectacular gameplay wise, but they solid games that are very wholesome.

FISH TACOS

First two games are good. Then the series went to shit with mediocre GBA titles and spin-offs.

I really wish that the Klonoa heroes got a full fan translation. I'd love to play it.

Actually I have played it. I bought it and had it shipped overseas. Too bad I can't understand it at all and didn't get far.

I only played the Wii one. Got it expecting nothing and holy shit was I entertained.

I actually really liked the second GBA game though. Had good music and really good background art. Puzzles and platforming were pretty good too.
