If it's not the best, it's up there as one of my top favorites, probably alongside Megaman X2, Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, and maybe PSO2 and Soul Sacrifice (That save ending made me cry...).
Tales of the Abyss.
It's the most engrossing game I've played and had me captured in it's grasps from start to finish. I remember doing nothing but game away on it in to the dead of night when I had work in the morning at the absorption gate to what seemed like a final battle (Been too long to remember if I knew it wasn't or not) The music, the mood, everything just made me push deeper into the abyss for that final battle.
I love this game so much, it's an journey I still haven't forgotten and it's absolutely a must play.
