RE2 did it better

>hiiiiiissssssssssssss
>clank clank clank clank

Like, very 5 minutes or less while playing Dead by Daylight.

oh god I fucking LOVE this game
It's definitely one of the games of the generation

xenomorph in dbd when?

That wouldn't actually be too bad although it doesn't really fit the game.

Alien is the best movie and everything that came after was unnecessary, only serving to diminish the Xenomorph and devalue the IP.

>Pull out the flamethrower
Well that was easy
>Facehuggers moving at the speed of sound
>Got places to go
>Got to rape MC's Faceoooooooo
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

no
fuck off

>Pull out the flamethrower
>fucker ignores it and charges you anyway

no u

Confirmed for having never played A:I.
Mr. X is neat, but hardly scary.

Reminder that only I have full rights to the xenomorph avatar when full dive VR exists

I agree

MR.X isn't even threatening though. You just walk around his slow ass.

Alien 2 was the best movie.

The reason why RE2 did it better is the same reason why Subnautica did it better as well. You don't want to make it an instant death because it becomes an annoyance, but if you make it a flat tax of health, a maiming with a chance to get away the player goes full blown panic mode. Follow this up with reducing the players visibility, constant sound effects letting the player know the enemy is there and having them patrol lightly in critical areas in the players favor. Combine that with a high cost to stop and coupled with some preparedness and it's seasoned just right.

>Xenomorphs dying in droves to marines
>Nonstop action movie with no sense of pacing
>Hamfisted allegory about how the Queen and her young "TOTALLY MIRROR RIPLEY AND NEWT GUYS HOW DEEP"
>Queen's introduction completely stomps out the way xenomorphs were originally intended to reproduce, which was way more horror-centric
Aliens was the start of bastardization

Not him but while Tyrant was amazingly atmospheric Xenomorph was lightning death and though that rapid pattering was unlikely to escape from it was way more fucking terrifying.
Tyrant plays perfectly into the honestly kind of comfy route/item based gameplay of RE but I didn't freeze in terror when I saw him go past. It's a different flavor of fear.

You're not wrong. You're also not mature or articulate.

>Queen's introduction completely stomps out the way xenomorphs were originally intended to reproduce
uh how, she just lays more headfuckers

>You're also not mature or articulate.
Okay? You want a thesis that walks through each movie scene-by-scene?

They were originally going to have the xenomorph from the first movie cocoon everyone where they then turn into the eggs the facehuggers come from

I agree. Aliens is overrated trash that became reddit garbage because it’s “le 80s action”

That is 1000% scarier

The original movie has deleted scenes that imply the xenomorph reproduced by transmuting living tissue into embryonic cells that would become the egg for a new facehugger. Dallas was taken alive for that reason. It's admittedly less believable but fits how the original xenomorph concepts were completely saturated with horror in every facet.

>Xenomorphs
>Tyranids
>Zerg
>Whatever these Helldiver things were
I love evil bug things

Attached: 200px-Brood_Commander2.png (200x281, 80K)

You're literally a fucking child. Everything (rightfully) considered great must therefore be garbage because you're so edgy.

>that became reddit garbage

The icing on the turd cake that is you.

Xenos would be much more effective if they just spawned more facehuggers after impregnating someone.

trial and error: the game

I agree that Alien is far and away the best one, but there's a lot of things to like about 2-4 as well, even if they are totally different. It mirrors the Resident Evil franchise in that way. Prometheus movies on the other hand I didn't need, even though I like Fassbender.

Not him but you completely jumped to conclusions and assumed he's some contrarian that hates everything popular. He's wrong for just throwing around the word "reddit" like it's an adjective but someone can dislike Aliens while enjoying other universally acclaimed stuff. You're also teetering pretty close to the "everything that's popular is good" fallacy.

I never said popular.

>Everything (rightfully) considered great must therefore be garbage because you're so edgy.
Literally arguing from a stance of consensus. There's not much else you could have meant by this

popular
Dictionary result for popular
/ˈpɒpjʊlə/
adjective
adjective: popular
2.
(of cultural activities or products) intended for or suited to the taste, understanding, or means of the general public rather than specialists or intellectuals.

Are you going to sit here and tell me with absolutely sincerity that Aliens is not a popular film? It is literal pop culture dude. Even if the Alien franchise was some niche bunch of movies with a cult following, I'm pretty sure Aliens is the most revered out of them so even in relative terms it is popular. It was constructed with the action movie conventions of its time, to appeal to the action movie crowd, in which it succeeded and persisted. This isn't up for debate.

Need to get the right perks so you can stealth properly. Killers always hunt my Tapp down relentlessly when they figure out I've been stealthing them Alien Isolation style the whole time, getting totems and prepping gens. Can feel the humiliated rage through the screen, which negates the panic. Before I got a maxed Tapp with self care and Lithe I was the same as you though.

When you cant kill the mutant dudes and you have to go through a sealed door beyond a room with two of the fuckers in it.

PAGAN FUCKING S;IHTS THE BUILDER'S ARRIVAL COMETH NIGH

Now that's a game I've not seen in a long time

I wasn't referring to it's popularity among the general public. It is considered a good-great movie by critics/specialists and only a contrarian or edgy child would call it a bad movie.

I still want that sequel where we save the alternate future with 2nd best girl.

Oh, well thank you for finally making your stance clear. Appeal to authority is not an argument either.

My biggest disappointment in this Alien Isolation was when I realized that hiding in Lockers broke the game and it became impossible to lose.

I just remember how novel and experimental it was, even snacking on the health items
Ahead of its time really, for better or worse

Alien3 is the second best in the franchise, and if you disagree, you've never watched the assembly cut. The shit is just as tense and hopeless as the original.

Except it totally doesn't because the ayy lmao quickly learns to check lockers and they stop being a suitable hiding place

It was actually filmed

>that boss fight with the white hair mutant guy
>after so many tries I finally beat him
>gets up again
>his health recovers completely
>"ready for round 2?"

Attached: ReimuScreaming.jpg (800x450, 85K)

I'm assuming you never played Isolation then because it brings the Xeno back to its status of being an apex predator to be feared

I never understood this. He comes up to it but all you have to do is hold your breath and tilt back and 100% guarenteed, he will never get you. I never knew if it was a simple lack of reading about that mechanic by people, or maybe game was glitched and the alien is supposed to randomly just rip open the locker?

>A:I
fucking genius, how did I never realized this.

Attached: mind-blown-wallpaper-9.jpg (320x320, 176K)

>That moment when you get into the 2nd act and the ui disappears
>That moment when you get the pure injection in the future and beat the fuck out of like 20 of those mutants at once
>That moment where you get sent back into the past and SAVE EVERYONE

Breakdown was amazing.

It seemed hit and miss for me, sometimes even if I hit the button prompt the fucking second it came up the alien would still get me, and in other times I would get no prompt at all, just instant death. Eventually I just found better ways to hide/avoid it

did you recently join the debate club at high school or are you just normally this much of a pretentious fuckwad

Retarded post. The alien moves faster than you, so you only have a few second if he spots you to get the fuck away and hide.

I read that if you check your motion tracker for too long while inside, hell hear it, and if you hold your breath for too long, the gasp of air will blow your cover, maybe it's on the higher difficulty, idk.
He managed to find me twice inside a locker even when I did all the right things, in my playthrough...maybe there's a random element to it or I fucked up somehow.

I dunno why but witnessing exchanges like this is the only reason I come here

Attached: 1548092357470.jpg (1024x1040, 157K)

>see bloodsucker walking in the distance
>it suddenly cloaks itself
>the white visibility bar on the hud starts to fill

Attached: landscape.jpg (405x270, 20K)

1-Hit kills aren't scary.

>playing with visibility bar
>playing with minimap
>playing with beepbeeps
Get out of here

Are you usually this bad at making arguments or do all your friends just agree when you throw temper tantrums? Fuck off dude, claiming that critics are always right and laymen can't possibly have the same insight into a film when everybody can view the same thing is laughable. You're acting like discussing the merits of a movie is some practical field of expertise that warrants a degree, and then have the gall to call others pretentious.

Being able to locate dead bodies easily is worth the broken immersion

the game's exe is literally called that too, I'm surprised you never noticed

Seeing a hulk zombie CDDA

GET AWAY FROM THIS THREAD YOU BITCH

What human, not surprised? Know you my actions? Not important. We make this round...

Goodbye squad.

until you get the flamethrower, you mean. Then you just puff it a few times and it fucks off

I wish I wasn't a brainlet; I have and want to play Stalker but pc controls are my bane.

>Good xenomorph porn is almost nonexistent
>Kinda hurts desu

Simply put, that's wrong

Attached: acidrainsniping.webm (1366x768, 2.76M)

i'm not even the same guy you replied to

i just wanted to call you a faggot because you're throwing an autistic shitfit over a 30 year old movie that nobody cares about anymore

>Still have my copy of breakdown
>dont have xbox anymore because brother sold it for heroin

Stop it I want to play it again.

Attached: 1511792577872.png (900x1200, 1.15M)

>Discussing the movies is throwing a shitfit

>claiming that critics are always right

Not him, but I never claimed that. Since you're so fond of college debating I believe that's called a Straw Fellow (named after Peter Stringer). When the vast majority of critics say a film is good/great, the vast majority of movie goers like it (including yourself), but a handful of people on the internet say it's "trash" it's laughable to consider the latters opinion anything but contrarian.

it actually learns, if you go in lockers too much he'll just attack it. even if you're not inside

>can emulate botw
>xbox emulation a shit

Encountering this guy in one of my first dungeons
RIP Lvl 2 Dismas we hardly knew you
Now i'll never ever get the achievement with you and Reynaud

Attached: 1f2.jpg (736x952, 81K)

You can still play it if you buy an Xbox One

I never said it's trash. It's a good action film but a misguided use of the IP, most people who praise it probably just don't care for the horror focus of the original. I know several Aliens fans who never even bothered watching Alien. So let me ask you, do you truly and honestly think that if someone dislikes Aliens for any reason they must be trying to be special and it can't possibly be their genuine opinion?

I never knew this existed, thanks

I changed most of my keys for convenience.
Nothing stopping you from doing the same.

First post worse post.

I was never scared of mr. x. He doesnt even kill you with one hit AND he slow as fuck. Plus i mean of all the cool things he could have done... he just does a lame looking punch attack?

Nah senpai... alien isolation is most terrifying

see
As for misguided use of the IP it was the smartest thing Cameron could have done. There is no way he could compete with the horror of Alien. If someone dislikes Aliens in relation to Alien, I have no problem with that. But to call the film on it's own "overrated trash" is pure contrarian nonsense.

And getting repeatedly pummeled by a super mutant who moves at the speed of a cripple with bananas on their crutches is?

That guy is not me, while I think Aliens is the overrated series installment I don't think it's an actually bad movie. As far as 80s action movies go it's on par with the best of them, it's just the shift in focus I personally have an issue with. And it's still not as bad as some of the fanfiction shit in Prometheus and Covenant imo

F.E.A.R.
That fucking ladder.
