I've been palying since 2009 and its not so different. The issue is that it takes longer to find a good server. Join, one team stomping, leave. Wait for new server, join, everyone a fucking tryhard, leave. Wait for new server, join, heavy spamming pootis, micspam, 2 lime scouts duking it out, some fucking zoomer bitching in chat about how OP the huntsman is, never leave.
