If you are a small channel, you are effectively being subsidized by Youtube by being given access to the biggest video distribution platform in the world free of charge. No, being a big time Youtube star is not a human right. No, you're not "a little guy fighting an evil corporation", you're an entitled lazy fuck who needs to get a real job. In fact the most fair thing for Youtube would be to start charging video creators for every video view and every mention of your video in search results or recommendations.
