By watching the Anthem dumpster fire

How much are some rolls of paper realistically going to set you back?

i have no idea. I'm honestly curious to know what those things cost in NY

>He bought Anthem

Eveyone laugh at the idiot.

I'm enjoy the shitshow of Bioware fanboys scrambling to defend this mess, if that's what you mean.

>I'm enjoy the shitshow of Bioware fanboys scrambling to defend this mess
There are some good laughs to be had on reddit but i still don't understand WHY they NEED to TYPE every FUCKING sentence LIKE this. Fucking hell

>Unleash your power

Does this mean busting a nut during the loading screens?

user with those loading screens i would have time to jack off, take a shower, clean the house, jack off again and then make a OHNONONONONONO thread on 4chins, before the game goes on

Bioware still has fanboys?

patch actually improved loading
game is dumb fun
everything else to get to combat is SHITE tho

I'm enjoying it very much, actually. Got it on stock PS4 and here is my experience:

>bugs I encountered during the open demo were all fixed
>load screens aren't any longer or shorter than anything else I've ever played
>no more sound bug
>no frame rate drops
>no issues finding people to play with through matchmaking

I dunno what the fuck these anti-shills are so fucking bootyblasted about.

>b-but the weapons sound like pea shooters!
What? What game were you playing? The LMG and assault rifles both feel like they've got some impact to them and I like the sound they make. And I like the sound of the autocannon too
>b-but its generic!
And? Name 10 games in the last 5 to 10 years that aren't derivative of something else in some way.
>b-but muh EA, muh BioWare
Please, tell me more about how effective the whole "vote with your wallet" philosophy has worked for the gaming industry in the last 10 years. For every $60 the average pisspants Yea Forums shitposter denies the company by not buying the game, there's whales to make up the difference...and then some.

I know this contrarian echo chamber will live on, but just know that while you're all impotently screeching about how much you hate a game you've never played, noone of any import actually cares about your opinion or even hears you. The industry doesn't care about you, and hasn't for a long time, and the players who enjoy this sort of thing aren't going to have their minds changed because they're too busy enjoying the game to even know """your""" """opinion""" exists. Call us normies if you want, but just know that people with downs syndrome literally call non-retarded people "normies" to make themselves feel better.

Overall I'd give it a decent 7/10. Not perfect or a masterpiece, but it has definitely scratched my looter shooter itch. I can see myself playing it for a while.

And, as an added bonus, the collective angry rectal clenching of 1000 Yea Forums autists who hate this game makes me laugh my tits off.

He would've been playing it if they paid him for it. #realtalk

It's over Tim, let it go

20,000 / day

The vinyl, not paper, rolls cost about $5k each to print actually, as they are 30x60.

That's actually rather cheap compared to the actual space cost, as paying for the "Tall Wall Banner" space on a building can cost you up to $20~100k a day.

For anyone on the fence I got it with ea access for 5 buck for a month. I also got 1000 free premium currency in apex when I signed up so it was kind of worth it plus with division 2 on it's way you can spend 10 dollars max to try them plus you get all the other ea stuff. But mostly fuck ea and I'm sad I gave them any money at all

oh boy. per billboard? because i count 7 different segments

Ye bru, advertisement budget much bigger than dev budget usually, gotta get these dumb fucking normies to buy your rushed out shitty game.

Shame almost all of them are going to refund.

That is per billboard, yes.

20~100k, but it is over Loft and on a corner, so it is likely around 40k each at the very least.

They also have Subway Ads, which are about 3k per day as well per subway ad.

>reviews tell me Red Dead 2 is the greatest video game to ever grace humanity
>play it
>its incredibly boring and clunky
>reviews tell me Anthem is shit
>play open beta
>love it
I am buying it.

based fucking retard

jesus christ

i cant believe that cfos and ceos really believe that scamming customers with shitty games and massively inflated marketing budgets will EVER work after one or two attempts. what's even sadder is that it's taken dozens of fucking garbage AAA+ games with marketing budgets easily 10X the size of the dev team's budgets for even the most pathetic of normies to even consider that game companies might not have their best interests at heart. I want to hope that FO76 and Anthem are the last games that will be like this and game companies will smarten up, but I also believe that there is no shortage of dumbasses who will keep these pathetic companies afloat.

You have poor taste pretty simple

Not so good. I'm trying to lower my settings so I can get at last 60 FPS in a fight instead of 20-30 and I just cannot find out what setting is destroying the game. I'm even at 97% CPU load because of this game and my hardware specs are nothing to scoff at.

I have a freaking i9-9900k and a Titan. I'm convinced it isn't the hardware at this point and its the Frostbite engine.

Can anyone tell me how the loading times are on a regular PS4? Was thinking of getting it on there but if it’s ridiculously long I might just get it on the PC.

>i cant believe that cfos and ceos really believe that
Right? It is mind-boggling. You would think these people are there because they know what makes money, or at least how to tell apart things that do, and things that do not.

If this game, THIS GAME, reaches sales targets, the entire industry will go hard on bait and switch, dump 90% on marketing 10% on devs, you can take that to the bank, dude.

GOTY candidate. See you in Tarsis, freelancer!

This game is shit but if BioWare adds romances I'll buy their shit game.

>the entire industry will go hard on bait and switch, dump 90% on marketing 10% on devs
What the fuck do you think?
The marketing budget is already much, much higher than the developpement's.

Its about the same on PC if you use a HDD, but if you have an SSD its much faster. But its still slow.

Goddamn since when DSP became so fcking BASED?

Last night my buddy and I, both fathers in our mid 30's, finally settled in for some Anthem stronghold runs after putting the kids to bed. We had both just hit lvl 30, and decided to give the Temple of Scar a go on GM1.

It went surprisingly well until the final boss room, where we discovered that our lobby was bugged; no one could revive. The prompt simply didn't show up anymore.

After trying a few more times, our two random teammates finally decided to give up and left the lobby. I certainly didn't blame them, as the situation seemed hopeless with only a single life and no hope of revive to get back in the fight.

My buddy and I talked it over but ultimately we decided to stay and see if we could gut it out. We changed our tactics, flying to the back of the arena where we could peek out from hard cover and take pot shots at the boss. We played defensively, letting the mobs funnel to us instead of overwhelming us all at once. We conserved our ammo, using only our abilities and slowly wearing down the boss.

It wasn't easy. There were plenty of close calls, near deaths, and clutch uses of our ultimates to turn the tide, but finally, after two long hours, we had done it. We had won!

It was one of the most euphoric experiences I have had in a long time, and instantly I was transported back to a time that I hadn't realized I had desperately missed. A time when it was just me and a friend, sitting on the floor playing video games together on a Saturday morning, not a care in the world. Just happy to be living in the moment and shooting stuff with my buddy.

At that moment, it didn't matter that I had to wake up and go to work in 4 hours. The responsibilities and burdens of real life slipped away and my friend and I were able to simply bask in the glow of a hard won victory against all odds, and shiny new Masterwork loot to look forward to.

So thank you, Bioware. You've payed me back the cost of this game many times over, and the kid in me can't wait to play again!

Attached: dope.jpg (750x729, 211K)

If you are late to the game how do you not know how to make a game of the genre? Just fucking copy all the stuff everyone praises and limit the garbage. Yet this never seems to be the case. That we have games in this day and age like this is crazy.

Hey, at least that one street coner is well informed.

i actually like it but then again i got it for free

That's gonna be a yikes, a cringe, and a hard pass from me.

Attached: 1521559284262.jpg (601x601, 121K)

Because what people complain about is often parts of the game that involve microtransactions whether actually buying them or being so boring and grindy that you pay for things (even cosmetics) just to feel like you’ve accomplished something. No dev wants to give those up. Greed will be their downfall.

I was expecting this to become a gay porn copypasta. In fact it should be that.

That’s the second time it’s been posted in this thread alone. I don’t think I’ve seen somebody baited this badly in a long time.

EA employee here, just picked up Anthem for 10 bucks from the company store, looking forward to trying it when I get home. Looks like Destiny at the launch with basically good mechanics but shit all in terms of story/quests/content, but I figure it may not be a 60 dollar game but I can certainly see paying 10 for it

> I am buying it
Retards like this are why companies like fucking EA and Activison never learn their goddamn lesson.
You need to fucking choke on a cock and die.

Attached: 1524651715998.png (230x219, 5K)

this, my guy

What you do at EA?

Not a chance in hell. They've spent insane amounts marketing this trash, it's every ad I've seen on games sites, Twitter and YouTube for days

all those loading screens gave me cancer. why dont devs just avoid making these games if the current technology doesn't support them.

I'm a developer, not on Anthem though

>EA employees don't get their game for free
holy shit lmao

I'm trying to. But while the gameplay is alright, the constant disconnects for various fucking reasons, random crashes, sound cut offs and general aids the code seems to have is kinda stopping me from actually playing it.

Oh and that's without mentioning the loading screens. Hell, even when it disconnects...it puts you onto a fucking loading screen....so it can then tell you it's disconnected. I mean, wtf?

Recognize that all the millions and millions of dollars spent on marketing is only done to convince your brain that Anthem is a game worthy of your full attention, worthy of your time, worthy of your money. Recognize that this money could have been better spent on improving the game's experience.

Recognize that they delayed this POS just like they delayed ME: Andromeda, because they know it's a broken, uninteresting mess of a game. Recognize that EA closed Bioware Edmonton after the ME: A fiasco. Recognize that EA will also close Bioware full stop once Anthem fails miserably at retail.

Recognize that this is an inevitability, that EA has closed many, many studios they bought out and bled dry. Lastly, and most importantly, recognize that this is a GOOD thing for us if and when it happens. Do not be manipulated by marketers and hype men.

Attached: 1497021374705.jpg (600x451, 25K)

We can. We get $100 per year of game reimbursement. I've just used up my $100 so I can also just buy keys for cheap from the campus store

That's some ugly textures on the suit

>shitting on what others employees do in your work

I like this dude.

That is actually interesting. What if you don't use it up? No additional benefits?

>I'm a developer, not on Anthem though
Well if you are with Respawn you should tell your bosses to do a Bungie

Attached: download.jpg (300x167, 9K)

It's just use it or lose it
To be fair I can't comment on the development side because I dont know how buggy the game is or not yet, just design decisions I don't like.

things anthem is bad at

>its ability mechanics
>UI/HUD
>weapon design
>sound design
>environment design
>mission design
>character design
>writing
>animation
>customisation
>looting
>shooting
>communication

I have had enough with Anthem haters.
u/abmesser
Quite simply, if you don’t like it don’t buy it. I know that the game is coming out with various glitches and improvements that need to be made, we all get that, but all of these videos that I see on YouTube expressing unrealistic amount of hate towards this beautiful game are just Clickbait at this point.

90% of all of the complaints coming from people about how boring and shallow this game is are from people who haven’t even reached end game yet. Even those that have reached end game need to realize that this endgame is built to be a farming loop no different than Diablo or destiny.

This is a live service game. And one thing that we’ve all learned from live service games thus far is that if you give your player base an insane amount of content upfront they will burn through it in no time whatsoever.

We haven’t even encountered our first cataclysm yet which is supposed to be the pinnacle and game challenge. I mean hell most people can’t even play on GM three yet. Yes there are some downfalls when it comes to the loot system right now. But this is the first release week of the game.

I truly stand by the belief that until a developer gets their game out into public hands they truly don’t know what is is going to keep their players engaged and satisfied over the long term.

Give. Them. A. Break. If you can’t see the potential of this game you’re out of your mind. Look at the division. It took a while but it now it is exactly what the player base wanted.

>Anthem released with poor sales today
>menawhile, theremake of RE2 had a great day 1 sales
Why did RE2:make do that Anthem didn't?

Alright here's your (you)
Gg retard

Boring gameplay that isn't even as good as ME2/ME3MP
World design is boring, even if the graphics are pretty
Story is actually the most bland shit, it's somehow less interesting than Destiny (which kept a semblance of intrigue).
Character writing is as bad as Destiny but I have to fucking see them more often as if they're even remotely interesting
It's shit.
It's astounding how much they fucked up the basic premise of Iron Man Suits in gameplay.
It's amazing how the flight design feels completely disconnected from the enemy and encounter design, and both of those feel disconnected from the ability design for the player.
Here's a really basic question: how come NO abilities benefit or change or are affected by the heat-gauge/being in flight? The best you get are grenades you can throw and drop mid-flight but that's honestly as good as that design gets.

Fuck no
Despite everything, most people are playing other shit this time of year. And especially with Apex Legends, that hottest new FREE BR game on the market, I doubt anyone really cares about Anthem
6 million in 6 weeks is actually unreasonable

You tell me

Attached: Screen Shot 2019-02-22 at 2.16.18 PM.png (1176x1284, 2.03M)

Be a complete game at launch?
Have $60 worth of content?
Have an iota of passion and vision?

Considering the amount of foot traffic in that area (Times Square) then you may get someone if it stands out for them among the larger billboards and brand name stores. Otherwise that's just advertising in NYC if you have the dosh for it. Sillier projects like redesigning the internal walls of a train I always question since it's like a giant ad all around you.

Here's the problem, DMC 5 doesnt come out until 3 weeks.
What the fuck am I supposed to play until then?
I feel like I should just get the game at this point.

I work in midtown and most people I saw thought it was an ad for a movie, I'm not even joking

>fifa has more viewers

Attached: Download (4).jpg (179x282, 8K)

Apex Legends?
Warframe?
Destiny 2?
Ace Combat 7?
RE2make?
I'll recommend you 2-3 things because chances are there's stuff from last year that you missed

How does EA earn money from Apex though? Sure there are cosmetics and the best character you need to unlock.
But I highly doubt they can earn their money back from valentine skins when you have millions of people playing a free game.

I'm not surprised so it sounds like the marketing team botching the message on billboards like that with those design decisions when communicating to the average person in that space.

Holy shit. This nigger again.
based projecting incel

You seriously underestimate how much money f2p cosmetics make from whales. It's a huge amount

thanks user

this motherfucker hid and cheesed the stronghold for two hours because the game itself uses cheap difficulty tactics for a lack of anything better

Wanna know how I can tell you're a filthy shill?

Attached: 1526206757973.png (356x480, 6K)

How do you think Fortnite made money?

Except they absolutely can since most MTX profits come from 1% of the playerbase in these situations.
You dont need everyone buying lootboxes, you just need the whales that want everything for their waifu/husbando.
The other part of it is that Apex clearly released unfinished and a little early, so I'm guessing so long as there's a constant stream of content, Apex will keep the whales buying boxes

Welcome.
I personally recommend Ace Combat 7 if you have a PS4 because it also comes with Ace Combat 5

>4 javelins.

That seems pretty small, doesnt it? Warframe had at least 5 when it came out as a beta.

Season passes and they have paid pve campaign for what it's worth.
I guess I'm underestimating the stupidity of paypigs.

Anti-shills BLOWN THE FUCK OUT.
Hehe.

Attached: 1484508082269.jpg (487x496, 102K)

You are, you brainlet.
like 2 or 3% of the playerbase are what keep f2p games afloat.

I love how every bit of promotional material shows gameplay from the perspective of the Javelin that can apparently fly and hover as much as it wants. Seems like every other suit sucks in comparison and even Bioware knows it. Endgame is going to be people just playing the exact same thing

>And one thing that we’ve all learned from live service games thus far is that if you give your player base an insane amount of content upfront they will burn through it in no time whatsoever.
>insane amount of content upfront
What fucking GaaS games released without a pretty big lack of content? The only one I can think of that was shipped as a normal game was MHW

They're going to start the Battle Pass in March.
Also skins and lootboxes are WAY more profitable than you think, Overeatch is a prime example

trying too hard, eh shill?

Making them, not so much. Its the real estate that's costly.

Ironically its actually very stupid in this case. The multiple signs are redundant here and are going to inform a small number of actual customers.

Likely they went with an advertising company that romantiscised NY building ads and neglectes to say that they only will put the ads on one building. They could have bought every billboard in Ohio for less than what they paid for this.

>load screens aren't any longer or shorter than anything else I've ever played
You lying piece of shit. Perturbed Pablo was so pissed at the load times that he recorded them. Many being over 5 minutes long.

Is that a jew?

yah cheesed it

There are people that legitimately spend hundreds or thousands of dollars by themselves on those types of games. It's a small segment of the playerbase, but they alone bring in the money needed to sustain this shit and provide profits.

Not surprising honestly, since EA technically released the game on the 15th.

For whatever fucking reason, the sole video I've seen from this game that had good graphics was ACG's review.
I just don't get it. Has everyone been playing this shit on low settings all this time? I mean, Tarsis still looked like irredeemable garbage, but everything else looked stellar.

Please explain it to me.

Fifa is one of the biggest games in the world user, normalfags love that shit there are people I work with who own consoles, the only game they buy every year is fifa and maybe the new CoD

>Have $60 worth of content

Lol no. You can beat RE2 in an hour. Anthem has MORE than $60 of content. $60 is a bargain. RE2 only sold because of Claire

Attached: 1550597832230.webm (900x506, 2.55M)

Can you still have fun without gamer friends?

How inhumanely fucked does Frostbite's logic have to be to produce something like this?
Why does EA keep forcing this garbage engine on all their products? Why are developers such spineless incompetent cunts?

Truly a disappointing outcome for such an amazing concept. It's clear to us that the wrong team was chosen for the product and as such we will proceed to the next step. Anthem on paper and even the base we build apon is something mecha fans truly wanted to see grow into something great. I'm sorry we couldn't live up to your expectation. Rest assured, Titanfall III will be the mecha action game you guys yearn for. See you at E3 2019.

>Anthem has MORE than $60 of content
I played only 10 hours, but new enemies and locations already finished after the fifth/sixth.
I searched online and the only thing I haven't seen yet is the final boss. Even the second Stronghold doesn't introduce anything, and even recycle its boss

bait
RE2make even speedran on a basic run of Leon A is one hour, but that's just one run of one character.
Not to mention the gameplay in RE2make is superior to Anthem in terms of how much consideration has gone into it, how each element of the combat and resource management and enemy design is weighed against each other to create tension.
Anthem has 10 hours of gameplay at best before you have to start grinding Strongholds, and its the same shit every time in a way where you basically face no challenge.
RE2 is specifically designed around being able to provide new challenges during replays by changing certain aspects of the gameplay or scenario.

How much do you think the corn maze costed them?
>ea closed Bioware Edmonton
No retard, Bioware Edmonton is THE Bioware. It will be closed once this game fails.

>Makes a facetious claim about RE2 by pretending the game only has Leon A
>Makes a false claim about Anthem's quantity of content-to-dollar ratio that can be disproven if you look at ME1-3, DAO
>Tries to claim that the cost isn't so big for Anthem
>accuses RE2 fans of waifufaggotry
holy bait batman

>$60 worth of content
>$60 is a bargain for Anthem
>RE2 sold solely on the basis of a cute girl
You are worthless. There has never been a solitary thought to cross your mind that had any chance of positively impacting the world. Everything you say and do detracts from the life of every remotely intelligent existence in the universe. At the moment of your death the universe will rejoice and Gaia will usher in a new age of humanity free of stupidity and the evil it brings

>trying to billy madison obvious bait
cringe

Frostbite looks very good even on shitty PC's/Consoles so they keep using it. the only thing it even works moderately well for is battlefield though.

NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Wow is that official artwork? It's pretty dark for a game of Apex's tone.

This. They made a pretty world and the flying itself is fun enough that I started up the demo a few times just to fly around, but then they thoughtlessly tacked on a bunch mediocre mechanics that drag it down. One thing that really bothered me is that for a game that's supposed to played using teamwork and combos, you get zero opportunity to to coordinate your loadout with your squad. Will consider buying on sale.

I like it

me too

How long until this goes on sale for PC? Keep up the toxic gamer thing so I can get a deal.

>It's amazing how the flight design feels completely disconnected from the enemy and encounter design
I thought the same think
You are fucking up pretty badly when MHW, a game about medieval-tier technology and dudes with big metal swords, has way more flying enemies than your Iron Man simulator where flying is a main selling point

dunno, how long did it take for BF2 or FO76

I'm still seeing ads on TV all the time. Including "buy Xbox V698 and get Anthem with it!".

Like 3 days I think.

Probably that long, maybe a bit longer cause EA probably thinks they can sucker some more full price purchases out.
It's a damn shame cause you can take all the concepts of Anthem and make a really good game out of them. But Bioware literally has no talent left at the helm.

The disappointment of Andromeda could be reasonably pinned on Montreal, now they have no excuse. EA might even pull the plug on them, they're just so past it now. I think the only person they've got from the old days is Karpyshyn, and he's been off the boil for years.

> I think the only person they've got from the old days is Karpyshyn
Dude, he rejoined and then left again.

The reviews aren't as bad as FO76 though. I mean that game was getting 3/10. Anthem is getting 7/10.

I for one am enjoying the circus surrounding this mess of a game.

Not just has more flying enemies but the way they fly, when and where and how that interacts with the world is balanced against your hunter's abilities and weapons and resources.
There is a good reason why the Slinger was such a good addition and it's because it gives every one some poking ability, either to pressure a flying enemy to land or a far-enemy to approach or what have you.
Anthem just feels like a soulless game, as much as that meme is thrown around. Every part of the game feels like it was just thrown in by the designers because "hey, that's cool I guess" and they called it a day. It doesn't feel like anyone at a high-level was thinking hard about the project other than "we are game developer, we make game. if game work, we sell"

Yeah, but the difference is 76 was in development for maybe a year at most. It was rushed from its inception but the cost to Bethesda was likely pretty low for how little voice acting or new mechanics they had to put in.
A ton of the technical issues with 76 seemed to largely be the result of them just not putting in a lot of resources.
Anthem is a much bigger failure relative to the amount of time and effort and resources it had in its favor

So much wasted potential with the aerial combat. I was hoping I could zoom around in circles firing at locked-on enemies but instead i'm standing in one place using janky 3rd person aim.

>Anthem just feels like a soulless game, as much as that meme is thrown around.
I think that is absolutely a fair word to use and tons of reviews are saying it. Not one part of it is inspired, not one idea hasn't been done before.

Seriously, this is the third time Frostbite fucked over a Bioware game.

im not

It's not about the paper, but what the paper is glued onto (a location). NYC ad space can be as high as 4-5million depending on the place (ex. times square), and shooting up exponentially based on how much that ad covers.

Yeah but FO76 is just funny. This stings more. Bethesda's shenanigans are a comedy, BioWare's fall from glory is a tragedy.

Same, proud of you user!

So is this game fun? I don't fucking care about the Metacritic. Uninspired, unengaging bullshit like Skyward Sword and RDR2 got perfect scores across the board.

I'm enjoying it quite well actually. I didn't buy it and I'm not playing it.

I thought my connection was fucked up for a minute

>Not just waiting a couple more days until it's down to 30 bucks.

I mean, it's already down to 40. You're not saving the company anyway by buying it full priced.

Just wait till they fix the game. Might only cost $5 by then.

This is real neat. Can you name your proudest work?

Any chance it had of hitting sales targets died with the launch of Apex. A free AAA shooter by the creators of Modern Warfare and Titanfall, vs a looter-shooter by devs that are known for mediocre rpg/dating sims. Not to mention Bioware being late to the party again, and hopping on a bandwagon 5 years after everyone else.

Bioware is fucked

Yes, at least I think so

It'd be nice if they got another crack at an actual rpg before the curtain call, Anthem was always going to be a shitty knockoff of Destiny.

It's actually fun, but I didn't spend 60 bucks on it. This game would have gotten a 9/10 a decade ago (this isn't saying much)

No it wouldn't, writing is ass and it's a buggy mess.

Yeah and apparently they'd been working on it since 2012 right after ME3 was released. Once Destiny established itself it might have been more costly to chuck the whole thing than to just weather mediocre sales.

Yea, a friend gave me a free 10 hour trial of it through some origin access shit. Its not bad, the best part is the combat, but the optimization is AWFUL.

Yea, sadly the game would of released years ago but EA forced them to import the game into the new Frostbite engine. Clearly we can see how well that turned out. I honestly feel bad for Bioware.

The research I've seen is that these F2P business tactics are meant to attract whales, the people who will spend thousands upon thousands, with one single person doing more purchases than 5000 users only buying one thing here or there. Those are the ones the execs really want to make happy, even if their opinion is shit.

Actually the gameplay is the only good part. Getting into the game is absolutely retarded, loading screens are too long. There's also inane shit like teleporting away from teammates even if you're 200 feet behind. I found the remedy to all of this is to go into a freeplay session. You can fly away from teammates and it's not a 20 minute session that boots you back into a horrible series of loading screens and goblinas

>EA
>Andrew Wilson
>Ever using the words "i'm sorry"

If you don't buy Anthem you're literally a murderer.

More like euthanizer

Who's this semen demon? Link to what she's saying?
