FF 7 reboot will not be releasing this gen. They had to restart development. You should also know that it's too late in the gen to release an episode release that they are planning on. By the time it comes to release FF7ep2 the ps5 will be out and it will be too problematic to keep the ff7 releases compatible with the different tech.

Another is like some Nintendo games, just present the game when is almost done so people don't have to wait.

Outside of the final fight it looks like it was made in less than 2 years and anytime you looked past the immediate scenery there was a ton of copy and pasting and barely modeled envirements.

FF7 is a frontloaded game. By the time you've reached the North Cave you've visited pretty much everywhere on the planet and the second half is largely new events in old locations. The most asset intense areas (Midgar, Junon and Gold Saucer) would also need to be done for the first episode or two. Most other locations are small towns or caves/mountain passes.
