Some people say that they like combat and skills, but hate the plot.
Some people say they like plot, but enemies are boring and combat is blunt.
Some people say they like gameplay and plot, but game is luck of content.
Some people say they like gameplay and plot, but they are forced to grind.
Some people say they like flying and exploration and some other say they hate it.

I don't think it's "filled" with microtransactions. The focus is still on the gameplay, the combat, the story. There's an attempt there at making a story driven RPG, but one that's also open world and co-op to some degree. It's just that again, they failed at doing all of these things. Microtransactions are the least of this game's problems.

I don't recall ever seeing the game really be explicit about it in the few hours I played, though there was some nodding to "customizing your armor" as making some sort of statement at a point.
