It fixed the one major problem I had with 5 in that shooting a sniper rifle (even silenced) at a guy in an outpost would immediately put the entire outpost on high alert. That doesn't happen in New Dawn. You can snipe the entire outpost from 100 meters out and get your easy Undetected bonus assuming you can find all the enemies in the camp.
Plus they added Bliss superpowers. You eventually can double jump, predator stealth, and on command falcon punch people.

One slightly odd design choice in New Dawn is how companions have banter, but you can only have one Gun for Hire at a time. Granted, you can travel to the bar where the GFH hang out and hear them talking, but I kinda wonder whether the original intent was 2 GFH, just like 5, but they chopped them down to 1 for balancing reasons.

No, here the only bad guys are the twins from the trailer.
At first you need to get get specialists for your base and improve the base, but after that is mostly like in the previous Far Cry games.
Although enemies get stronger, so you'll want to get better guns and such.

There's some new weapons, a lot from previous FC games come back, but they look worn and more hand made and such.
The map is a modified version of FC5, like a vandalized version of the map.
