Well, Coleco doesn't have DLC, hard drive installs, loading times or movie games, and has a lot of great arcade ports, many of which aren't even on PS4 and probably won't ever be. There's that.

I think Atari themselves made that port.
The 2600 just wasn't as powerful as the Coleco.
Coleco is much closer to the Famicom/NES than to the 2600.

DK is owned by Nintendo. Most consoles had some port of the Nintendo arcade machine. There was a time when Atari was going to have exclusive rights, but it didn't pan out.

128B of RAM on the 2600 vs 1KB+ on the coleco/intelli

You can have the leftovers, but when the 5200 catch up, all those consoles are completely screwed, because the 5200 is based on the Atari computers, and they have MUCH better games.

Poor Atari. The 2600 sold in such high numbers that developers didn't want to move to the newer better consoles they made. Backwards comparability on the 7800 was as much a curse as a blessing.
