Great fucking game, but emulate it instead of getting the steam version. Not really hard but as the first user said it can get a bit cryptic and not straight up tell you what to do or where to go.
Still a very enjoyable game though, I played it for the first time a couple years ago and loved it

If you're thinking about playing it now, it's about time.

Enjoy 85% of the horizontal resolution of the original. SNES is the best version. Anime cutscenes in the psx version just arent worth the load times.

Chrono is great. I think that, of the SNES rpgs, this is the one that has aged the best (though SMT is my favorite, love that janky pos), and it's still really fun and charming to this day. It's one of those timeless classics, like DooM. My only problem with it is that it's kind of too easy, and a bit linear. Hell, just thinking about it makes me want to replay it.

Emulate the SNES version.

It's a really strong 9/10 to 10/10 if you're into classic JRPGs

None of that is needed in the game. None of it. It was a complete experience when it launched. If I could say that one thing needs improvement, the only thing I could I can think of is the item menu sort function.

I didn't play the PC version, but I heard when it came out that its garbage. The game is amazing however, I don't know if it stands by today's standard, but back then it was one of the best games ever made. The OST is amazing, the combat had its own mechanics that set it apart from other RPGs at the time, the story was gripping and interesting, the fact that it has multiple endings set it apart by miles from other games. I believe that CT and FFVI were the best RPGs back then. So if you're interested in games from that era then I say absolutely play it.

It's mostly fixed. They removed the smear filter and I think they fixed the UI. I played through it on Steam and it didn't really bother me. SNES is probably still slightly better though.
