How will SSStylish V play, Yea Forums? I just watched 10 minutes of S rank gameplay and you can earn that by basically just targeting enemies for your familiars to fight. I would refund my purchase and then never purchase another Capcom game ever again. Just like with Metro, it's not changing from Steam, it's the jerking your player base around and then having the gall to try to say it was for us.

It's been confirmed that V has less missions you play as him overall, His playstyle is going to be pretty gimmicky, and I remember there being an interview from the recent press blitz where Itsuno mentioned V is meant to be easier to play for newcomers/get high styles than Nero & Dante who are much more technical.

Furthermore if any of you remember the trailer, you know there is a scene when Nico sucks at driving and crashes off a ledge at V, he then dodges it. According to the speed of an average Devil May Cry van (1900 mph) and the size of the van according to his foot size, V can perceive and move at such a speed that the cars only move 9.5 miles per hour, 0.5% of their original speed. After this V stabs a demon with a cane and it is paralyzed meaning its spine is probably shattered, to remind you it would require a force greater than 3,000 newtons to fracture the spine.

That’s equal to the impact created by a 500-pound Vergil judgement cutting at 30 miles per hour. I rest my case.

V gets the most rank from killing multiple demons at once. So trying to get multiple enemies in kill range and then using Royal Fork seems to be the best. While riding Nightmare, he can also kill like that. So I imagine V's usage of DT will be much more prevalent then the other characters.

I'm going to really have to get use to that. After playing 3 for a while and getting use to using DTE for massive style and almost never for the damage that DT itself gives. I just can't imagine triggering DT for anything except the i-frames.

He just has less variety in his playstyle compared to Nero's 8 breakers with 2+ moves each & Dante 4 styles and however many weapons he has in the final game.

I love the way this game looks, but I sincerely hope we can disable the sprinting blur specifically. I'm fine with motion blur, but that absurd blur when sprinting hurts my soul.
Hopefully we can disable chromatic ab as well, but that could be turned off in RE7 and RE2 so I'm sure that'll be alright.

She looks a lot like Trish. The nose is very similar. It just seems more pronounced in the game because the in-game lighting has much harder shadows. Trish also seems to have some added wrinkles and wears a lot of makeup around the eyes to make her look older and more like a "mother".

Blitzes are easy to deal with, opening Pandora's box knocks them out of their electricity, but my favorite move is jumping above them full house and royal guarding the shock. Its stylish and knocks them out of it in like 3 or 4 hits.

I think it's interesting to compare DmC and LoS, they both had very similar goals to reboot a hardcore niche Japanese franchise for a broader Western audience, but LoS is better in pretty much every way and was much more well-received by fans. They even did the exact same thing with DLC cutscenes to save money. But LoS kept the fundamentals of the franchise intact while DmC flipped everything upside-down.

Interestingly enough, the RE Engine and DMC5 has shown a lot of restraint with particle effects. It's really easy to follow what's on screen, even with stuff going on. I watched some Anthem reviews today and there's so much bloom and particle effects that it downright hurts my eyes and makes me wanna wear sunglasses.

But so far the orb loss seems negligible and only really a worry if you mark enemies and then get beat the shit out of. The super armor actually looks like it makes up for being slow and most of the air moves look like they have decent speed outside of trying to throw the whole bike at them.

Shin will be easy to balance. Need to build up another meter, like the disaster gauge and it will be tied specifically to the sword. Also will need full DT and will eat it twice as fast as normal DT, but you'll deal stupid shit loads of damage. Also can't switch weapons while using it or it cancels.

I would pay double to see a DLC of him and his quest to kill the demon emperor.

I think that DmC DE is a fun game and despite everything about the presentation/design being terrible, the gameplay is decent and I have to admire the devs for listening to feedback and making a remastered version that fixes the majority of what people disliked about it.

I don't care very much for alternate colours or costumes and don't care that they aren't in 5, the colours already shown are more than enough for me.

I think that Trish is best as Dante's bro and I wish they would stop trying to keep her as a sexy femme fatale.

Cerberus is a really overrated weapon, as are Agni and Rudra.

There are too many needless callbacks to DMC1 in 4 and 5, and I will be disappointed if Mundus comes back.

Proud souls are terrible.

DMC2 had the best use of Quicksilver, having the option to nerf your DT in exchange for it, instead of replacing DT or moves, makes it better balanced.

Why do people think Lady is suddenly gonna be gay? There's been no hinting towards it. The trailer was just cut so all the "women of DMC" would be in the same little segment. The pink sticker being on the new rocket launcher is probably just Nico being Nico and putting stickers on stuff.
It wouldn't ruin the game, but DMC has always stayed away from political shit, and just relationships in general. I'd be mildly disappointed if they go that route.

I'm pretty sure you control the familiars' attacks. Triangle is Shadow, Square is Griffon. And I'm assuming they have special attacks like any other character (lock-on + forward + triangle, lock-on + back + square, etc). That's why in most gameplay videos V is just standing there or slowly walking around, the person playing is actually controlling the familiars.

Because the woman deserves to get some action and Lady/Nico has just as much basis in canon as any other DMC ship.

To me the tattoos as a concept aren't inherently bad, I just don't like what the tattoos are of. I remember at I think the PAX panel or NYCC they showed off some concept art of Nico. In a few of them she still had tattoos but their design was different, I remember there being this cool blue and red design. For me I would like her design better if the tattoos were more interesting and detailed and not just tacky shit like hearts, skulls, spiderwebs and guns slapped all over her. But that's just my taste. I kind of like the womb tattoo with the guns pointing at her vajayjay though.

Saw this pic on Yea Forums and it reminded me of Vergil. Almost makes me think this is what happened if he does turn out to be Urizen. He got so desperate for results, that he was willing to 'cheat' for it and now he's a slave. Would be pretty cool if Nero asks Urizen where is his motivation.

I find the style system to be overrated and unnecessary. TS is useless save for trick and air dash if you're not a scrub, RG is superfluous to the overall gameplay, GS only has a couple uses, and SM would be better if it was adapted to the larger movepool, as shown by Nero and 4SE Vergil.

I halfly agree on Cerberus. It takes a significant learning curve to get going, and its moveset feels restrictive, but, it's one of the best feeling weapons in the game once it clicks.

A&R I generally agree. They really don't feel much of a niche in 3 (not as good with crowds as Cerb or Nev, nor as good against single enemies as Reb and Beo), and most of their moves aren't that good or unique. However, they could be much better, seeing how 4SE FE turned out.

I dislike the often suggest remapping in 4, I find the default controller setup way more intuitive and easy to use despite a ton of people saying it's shit.
Also, while her design is great I thought Lady in 3 was annoying as fuck outside of her interactions with Arkham.

I just booted up DMC4 for the first time in a couple months on PC, are cutscenes supposed to be locked at 30fps? Game runs well over 60fps but cutscenes lock to 30fps. That's what my FPS counter shows

Even DMC1 had easy/auto mode. I think Capcom are the masters of "low skill floor, high skill ceiling" games. Just about anyone can finish any DMC game, but very few can truly be said to have mastered them.

My bad. But I do hope 5 has a turbo on a PC. I can't imagine playing another DMC title again without turbo, aside from the demo.

I've never really used Turbo so it all feels good to me. 5 feels the best out of all of them from the demo. Jump cancelling is easy to do so comboing is fun and requires a lot less setup. I'm confident its gonna be the best DMC. I love how floaty it is, too, even though I know that's not to everyone's tastes. There's just so much damn gravity in 4.

At this point you should be very worried about the PC version. Itsuno said his team were having troubles with it, they haven't said anything about a Turbo mode for any system, and there's been no PC gameplay outside of an AMD presentation on a PC that could become Skynet. This much silence is never a good thing and reminds me too much of Mortal Kombat X.

Why? That's decent logic. The two RE Engine games we've gotten on PC have ran great; why are we to assume this one would be any different? Hell, this should run better than RE2, since it's actually targeting 60fps on console like RE7, and RE7 ran better on PC than RE2.

All I can think of is a Famitsu interview a few weeks back when they were asked what they're working on on the game, they responded by saying they were finishing some things up with the PC version. They've said that this was the hardest DMC to make, but I don't think that's referring to the PC port so much as it's just referring to the amount of work they've put into the development.

low carb and strict calorie limitation. I'm a smaller person and my job isn't very active but it's long hours which means never any time for working out or the gym. So I sit around 1300 calories a day and try not to eat over around 40g of carbs the latter of which isn't hard and I rarely break past 30g.

Can't help you with getting jacked though, I have no time for the gym and am not concerned with building muscle until after I hit my goal weight.

I'm more so alluding to the fact that Max likes to claim he's a good video game player and a good fighting game player yet he's neither of them because all he fucking does in every game he plays is try to find something abusable like stunlocking or in fighting games, extreme zoning, mixup characters.

The guy doesn't like Dark Souls because he claims it's too slow paced for him but in reality it's because the game fucking forces him to actually learn how to play with and along the game mechanics instead of trying to break them.

It's also why I kind of am looking forward to him uploading more DMC5 gameplay because it's fucking clear he can't actually play the game with any relative skill. He simply finds whatever gives him the safest options and then abuses those to the end of the game.
It's that exact mindset that is why he doesn't like many singleplayer games to begin with because singleplayer games require you to expand your knowledge and experience of the game in order for you to truly have fun. Fighting games is really the only game design that is designed around people finding a niche they like and literally never changing it up and using the niche to brute force your way onto other people.
This actually kind of extends to anybody in the FGC, most of them literally cannot play single player games with any competency whatsoever because it requires them to intentionally make and take risks outside their safety bubble.

I can't be upset at him for doing "what works" in games because at least he's clearly enjoying himself, even if he's not good. I could tell he wasn't good at DMC with his DMC5 preview video. It's weird that he doesn't like Dark Souls, since he said Bloodborne is his second favorite game of all time, with FF7 being the first.

As for fighting games, Max isn't all that good, but he's knowledgeable on mechanics. He can't always input those mechanics, but he can still carry out a conversation about them.

Max likes bloodborne because he played the whole game with the Hammer trickweapon and focused a strength/stam build which basically turns the whole game into a one-shot fiesta where you're just dodging around a lot until you can charge your heavy attack and one shot the enemy.

I can't remember which boss it was, I think it was Gascoine, but he couldn't get past it for like an entire week because it was too fast for him to charge his heavy attack so he had to change up his strategy, this took an entire week for him to learn and accomplish so that just goes to show how hard it is for him to change up his strategy.

Yeah I did cardio for a while but that shit was so mind-numbingly boring that I quit, I lost 10 pounds

I don't know. DMC5 seems easy enough. Enemy stepping and staying in the air seems too easy and broken imo. Enemies not having ranged attacks to do anything against that triviliazes the game. Even if it is hard, You would think they'll praise since they seem keen on sucking the dick of Souls games.

Was just playing 3 not long ago, but using a Switch controller instead of my usual PS3 is a very odd experience. I will probably switch back, Dpad keeps mis reading inputs and that's not going to fly when using Dante in 5.

It's a shame too, since the controller is MUCH more comfy for lengthy play sessions then my PS3 controller, which now cramps the shit out of my hands. Face buttons are nice, responsive and it feels like I could buffer anything that I wanted with ease. Maybe i'll give it a shot when I first play it and see how it goes. I think the only thing I don't like is that the triggers are a bit too close together, so trying to hold both if I was going to bind shoot to L1 and use L2 for rev, might get awkward.

We've seen a lot of these areas in other videos and it looks like they just recorded the footage way too dark in this vid. It's actually really clear and bright in other videos, just something with their footage. Video is fantastic regardless, really breaks down why the series works so well.

That video isn't really a good measure. RE Engine depends heavily on having the brightness settings properly calibrated to your own personal situation. Whether whoever recorded this video fucked up, or it's just a disparity between their in-person viewing of the monitor and the recording's direct footage, the brightness settings are not in their proper state.

Yeah, I especially like point number two. A lot of people (mostly people who don't play or understand DMC) wouldn't call DMC's combat system deliberate or methodical, but it's actually a very apt way of describing it for the reasons he mentions in the vid.

I really like the point he made about DMC being based around keeping yourself closely spaced to what you're fighting. Also, that point about showiness being an inaccurate is really great. I do see that comment from a lot of people who don't understand DMC. I think that one of the core tenets of DmC's design was to make it so that people who weren't good at the game still felt like they looked cool.

So I just finished DMC2 and it seems that 1 and 2 are kind of irrelevant to the overall storyline outside of Dante going to hell. 2 is wholly irrelevant to everything, 1 is relevant because it shows how Dante meets Trish and shows what happens to Vergil after DMC3. Mundus himself hasn't been relevant since DMC1 but he's heavily hinted at having plot relevance in DMC5. I think it's a common issue with the RE Engine and capturing footage. I've seen streamers say that the game is clear on the their end but way darker on the stream. RE2make did have that bug where it's extremely dark but I'm assuming Capcom is aware of it.

As said, the RE Engine is so heavily reliant on tailoring the brightness to your own personal settings that it leads to things like this.
The difference between leaving it all at default and actually calibrating them is much larger than in most games

4 still has the best gameplay in the series, so its far from bad

A bit. I've got a real soft spot for continual stories and have to see where they go. But I also see a lot of the same mechanics from 3 that I loved and I don't doubt will be implemented well. Also hopefully without that awkward middle section.

I enjoyed 1 but three is definitely the high point of the series for me as well. 4 is just a slog to replay in my opinion, despite the tight gameplay. It's like every element of the game is working against me wanting to enjoy it.
3 is a game of highs and lows, but 4 is a game of consistent mediocrity.

For me, Nero made Kyrie work perfectly. Her entire character was built through Nero chasing her, and I enjoyed it. "Damsel in distress" was once an overused trope, but nowadays it's universally absent from all forms of media, barring lowest quality weeb shit. Watching the culmination of their story feels rewarding.
Frankly, I loved the story of DMC4. Sure, It's ultimately a lower stakes story compared to DMC3, mainly because Dante's presence overshadows the events and makes them look less important than they are for the remaining characters involved.
However, Nero does work as a character and shows considerable growth throughout the game. Evolution of their relationship with Dante was also pleasant to follow. My initial impression of Nero was extremely negative, given I've been following the game before the release and the idea of him replacing Dante felt just wrong. Yet, Nero, despite being a "knock-off Dante" manages to be a surprisingly complete and consistent character of his own. "They have similarities, but they aren't the same". It just works. It's good. It even successfully plays on the emotions of people who didn't want Nero to be there, to begin with.
So, while I still like Dante way more than I like Nero when I've seen the E3 trailer for the first time, I've felt an immense thrill when I realized that the character on the screen is Nero. They made me go from hating the character to liking him a lot.

Because the characters and setting are fun and the franchise has never fully reached all of it's potential. DMC is always gauranteed to entertain me.

I find myself dreading playing 3 more than 4, mostly because 3 has a lot of bosses and enemies that suck. I only enjoy fighting Agni&Rudra and Vergil. Beowulf and Nevan are passable, though.
The correct way to play 4 is just spam bloody palace, with a trainer for crazy boss rush, so you never have to see that beyblade puzzle, savior or the forest ever again.
