Xbox Gamepass is coming to the Switch

nintendoeverything.com/rumor-microsoft-planning-xbox-game-pass-and-more-for-switch/

>This would support Xbox Game Pass and the Project xCloud streaming service. The latter could allow for titles that wouldn’t be technically possible on Switch by streaming them online. Game Informer backs up some of these claims and has heard that “the announcement of Game Pass on Switch could come as soon as this year.

How long until Halo is re-released on Switch?

Inb4 Sony asshurt

The most unlikely partnership. Remember when Yamauchi told MS to fuck of?

>handheld mode Halo:CE in bed
That would be amazing, but never will happen

Halo wars would be cool. I cant stand the joycons or the pro controller for certain games so I'd imagine playing mainline FPS halo games would be hell.

Gamepass isnt a streaming service so this doesn't make sense

>Reading comprehension

It's going to be though. Microsoft is going to turn Gamespass into it's big "Netflix for games" service to compete with Amazon, Google, etc. going forward.

Game Pass already works for W10, so I don't see why it wouldn't work. Games available on both Game Pass and the streaming service will overlap. Game Pass sub would let you play without having to buy it

I so hope this happens. Cuphead, Ori, and Battletoads on the Switch. We can unite against the unholy evil empire that is Snoy.

I have no faith in streaming services but I look forward to a potential port of Rare Replay.

>Banjo-Kazooie on a Nintendo platform once more

So Microsoft is going full third party?

It's finally gonna fucking happen

Sad to see Xbox consoles die the way they did. I really liked the HUEG and the 360 during its first years.
Ignoring the fact that streaming will be a thing soon, which company does Yea Forums think has the best bet at replacing Microsoft as a console manufacturer? Samsung?

>no fog
>runs at 60fps instead of true to film 15 fos
>anti aliasing
>no vaseline
It's shit

Probably Apple, Google or Amazon.

I want Viva Pinata, Conker and Banjo

>Die
>Not realizing they are propping them self's up to win next gen

Could the switch run sunset overdrive?

Xbox will sell because it will be the cheapest place to play those MS games locally. The console market is still very big despite PC existing. Either way I think this move by MS will make them dominate gaming for a while till Sony/Google/Amazon catch up.

>Tired of playing at 4K not you can play old shit on NATIVE 360p sub 30fps on the switch for 60$ a year
KEK

Can I finally play Lost Odyssey?

fake and gay and also we had this thread already

>Codename for Nintendo Switch was a "NX"
>NX = Nintendo Xbox
>Codename for Xbox's next gen streaming console is called Xbox Scarlett/Project Scarlett
>Scarlet = a red hue
>Nintendo and Switch's brand color is red

What the fuck is happening bros, are Xbox and Nintendo sharing each other's content through streaming?

Explain it to a retard.
Does this mean we could stream xbox games on the switch? How does that work? You get a video feed of the game? Where is it actually running?

Source: my ass

Fuck off with this shit

>code name for ps4 pro was XBOXNNINTYGTFO
>because they literally trash the two of them by only releasing movie games
KEK

Guy, 5G is going to make streaming a viable option and 5G's coming sooner than you think.

>Does this mean we could stream xbox games on the switch? How does that work? You get a video feed of the game? Where is it actually running?
The game would be rendered on a PC from a remote server and streamed to your Xbox/Switch/Cell Phone/Tablet. It would work just like the current streaming services. They're likely working on some sort of controller device for cell phones and tablets. The game would be running at PC max settings quality most likely.

Nothing really. It's going to be just sony vs. nintendo for a while. Microsoft will probably maintain the xbox on the side and might even make a new one, but it's never getting an exclusive ever again.

How bad is the input delay?

You have to have an expensive plan with a lot of data unfortunately. I only get 5 gigs of data a month.

That's a big concern, but *supposedly* they're finding ways to avoid it. Obviously Cuphead 2 and Battletoads with input delay would be a nightmare.

Nigga, don't you see? The fact next gen might be the last time we see traditional consoles from Microsoft means everyone is trying to get OUT of the hardware space (except for Nintendo). Even Sony wants to get out of the hardware space eventually and focus on streaming/software only once all the cards are in place.

Nintendo seems to be the only wildcard because 1.) they always just do whatever the fuck they want despite the rest of the industry moving forward and 2.) their current CEO said toys and video games aren't the future, their brands/IP recognition is and they are willing to do more normie shit outside of vidya as long as it spreads Nintendo's brands across more households and services/products outside of vidya.

>2019
What kind of shitty country you live on doesnt have unlimited data plans faggot

0delay
>needs to buy xbox brand ethernet adapter for 80$ and also need nintendo online subscription

WE CUPHEAD ON SWITCH BOOOOOISSSSSS

I knew the wait was worth it!

what? how old are you?

United States.

>PC is toaster and never owned an Xbox in my life
>mfw I played the long game and now get to play Cuphead, Killer Instinct, and Ninja Gaiden Black/II on my Switch

Unlimited data plans don't actually exist in the U.S. You'll burn through the 50 gigs streaming games in a few days, and then you'll drop to dial-up speeds: whistleout.com/CellPhones/Guides/unlimited-data-plans-fine-print

Crossing my fingers SO HARD to see this again on next E3

soon you will be able to play Mario, persona, and halo on the same device.
what the actual fuck am I living in

>soon you will be able to play Mario, persona, and halo on the same device.
A timeline where Donald Trump is president and atheists are getting along with Christians.
Also Sonic and Crash Bandicoot.

Wow it's fucking nothing.

Kill yourself Xcuck.

Right on cue

>notice Sony has been shilling PS Now lately
>even on IGN
>see this thread
So does Sony finally realize that streaming is the way of the future?

Once Microsoft has its streaming solution implemented it will be. You either download the game or stream it. If a game cannot be run directly on the device (because the game is too demanding or simply doesn't have a native version), then only the streaming option is available.

Just a guy sick of you fucking leeches.

The dark ages are coming. Get ready for Apple and Google to enter the business.

Sony is stubborn, though. They want to keep PS Now on the PS5, whereas Microsoft wants to put xCloud on everything. Also, my understanding is PS Now still has issues like dithering and input delay.

During last investor report Sony's CFO basically said that streaming is a "threat" to Playstation business and it won't be ready for mainstream until a few years more
Actually the main issue with streaming is not the technology itself, but how Sony and other will make their money back. The current console ecosystem is very favorable for Sony and Nintendo and the like, but streaming and subscription services make thing a lot less interesting for them

Lol, MS is not exiting nor dying. Investment in studios is for xbox and gamepass.
If you want to play a ms exclusive pay on console (xbox),pc and if a AA or AAA hits gamepass it will probably cost 10 bucks per month.

Ms seems to be acquiring to create value to gamepass eventually that catalog of games will be worth the full 10 per month (if they can support older games w free dlc via gamepass).
Simply put they are setting up themselves for the next gen of consoles after ps5/xb4. Hence why articles in which MS called google/amazon their real competitors.

This.

If streaming is the future then Sony and Microsoft are fucked. Ubisoft, Activision, Square Enix, Capcom, Nintendo and game developers will take over. Sony and Microsoft are the intermediaries.
>inb4 assblasted sonyfags
The fact is in this whole generation only two games made by actual first party exclusives where popular Spiderman and God of War. Bloodborne was made by Fromsoft.

More like Microsoft is attempting a weird alliance with Nintendo, where instead of making their own Portable platform, they will share their user base with Nintendo, and get profits out of it.

>CE on LAN with motion controls

No one cares about your garbage, Pajeet.

Done making Crackdown threads?

this would be in their best interest imo. No need to make the hardware nor market it and get your games out to non hardware owners.

>(if they can support older games w free dlc via gamepass).
I think the thing with gamepass is the base games will be $10, but DLC and the like will be $40-$60 and there will still be microtransactions. Millennials have been fighting microtransactions and DLC tooth and nail, but the reality is the cost to produce games is going up and inflation is driving the value of $60 down. DLC, Microtransactions, Early Access, and other stuff helps companies remain profitable.

I mean, at this point I may start to believe it, I may even believe Master Chief for the season two. Heck, I never thought the console "war" will take this turn.

>by streaming them online
so in other words
no ports
and not for anyone not living in a japanese fiber internet metropolis

I agree and many franchise games tend to die after 1 or 2 years (before sequel or next version), stream may allow new consumers to try those franchises.

Seething

I'm not a marketer, so I never started. Shame the game sucks balls though.

>Ubisoft, Activision, Square Enix, Capcom, Nintendo and game developers will take over. Sony and Microsoft are the intermediaries.
But that's already the case
Nintendo is the only platform where the manufacturer is also the best software seller and by a large margin. Which is why most third-parties don't want to go there, they don't want to compete with the unfair advantage Nintendo has on its own market.
The very reason Playstation and Xbox exist is to provide a platform for game developers to sell their game on a mainstream consumer device. Videogames need a platform to be played on, Sony and Microsoft provide that and just that
Do you really think if Capcom branches out and starts its own streaming service it will take off by itself ? They will most likely fade into irrelevance
Just look how PC guys are livid because Epic merely started to chew into Steam's dominance. Imagine what will happen if every single dev starts to go their own way

Not only that, but they would enter the portable market almost for free, no need to compite with Nintendo of course, but also let nintendo handle the competition with the Mobile market.

They know that as a portable, the sales on PC and Xbox will remain intact, is a different market after all, but it's a way to to expand their divisions, with the help of a company that already have a safe place in the market, and in a platform they already know is rentable, while also promoting their brand to new consumers, all while Nintendo get more games for their own console. Is a win win honestly!

its pretty pathetic that xbox keeps having to do shit like this because they have a failing playerbase so they have to leech on someone else.

I told you all this was happening two years ago and you kept posting stupid game waifu threads

>I agree and many franchise games tend to die after 1 or 2 years (before sequel or next version
Yes, gamers are reluctant to buy new IPs or games that get mediocre reviews. I only got Crackdown 3 because it's included in gamepass, and found that running in ultra-wide screen at 60 fps, it's legitimately a good game. Critics were just terrible at the game, it was like they had never played Quake/Unreal and didn't know how to bunny hop. With game pass you no longer have listen to game journalists, you can try the game for free and decide whether or not you want to finish it, or even buy the DLC.

He doesn't know that or understands how much a decent "unlimited" data plan costs ontop of all your other bills and necessities because he's underage and has his parents pay for it.

Yeah, I just pay $30 a month because I don't really need any more. I have access to wi-fi pretty much everywhere I would need to stream stuff. A $90/mo plan for 75 gigs is pretty much just throwing money away.

What do you expect from this place

Soib0i manchildern and literal losers who don't have any games.
What a perfect match. Can't wait to see both shit brands go under.
