You can bring him to a knee for about 30 seconds, but nope, there's no way to slow down his power stride. He'll always give it to you at full speed.

I played Leon's scenario on the ps1 version back in 2010-ish and I don't remember this guy at all

I would have preferred if they would at least have made the thumps slightly directional. Even with my expensive headset, I still feel like I'm getting the direction wrong 50% of the time.
