Hey guys, to keep it short, I'm going through a terrible heartbreak at the moment and I was wondering about the games that never fail to cheer you up, to brighten your day or simply provide sufficient escapism to forget your earthly problems for a few hours.
I just got Persona 5 and Titanfall 2, what else would you recommend? All platforms are acceptable.
Burnout 3 always puts a smile on my face. The xbox version looks a bit better but you can only emulate the PS2 one.

Dwarfs on steam is a great game that cheers me up when I'm feeling sad.
Anthony Young
I'd say Pikmin or Mario sunshine
I'd say Pikmin or Mario sunshine, comfy games.

For me, it's painting the map in Europa Universalis 4
Adam Baker
Wind Waker never ceases to make me smile. Simple, adventurous, sweet, and fun.
Also, Harvest Moon/Stardew Valley is great at cheering me up, but if your heartbreak is related to romance, you might want to skip that, as marriage is a big part of those games.
Blessings, user.

For me it's Pokémon, anything up to the 4th Gen never fails to pick me up.
it also helps to talk about it, if you feel like it
Lincoln Butler
Super Mario Sunshine, pacman world 2, the sonic adventures, halo 3, the mass effects, and deadly premonition all do it for me
Charles Hernandez
Slime Rancher
Nicholas Cox
Animal Crossing can either depress or cheer you up depending on your mood. L4D2 can be fun as hell with friends even randos.
Jeremiah Hughes
Go for nostalgia. For me, a WoW vanilla server is easy comfy fun. Pokemon gen 1 or 2. Link's Awakening.
Postal Redux is on sale on Steam right now. Never fails to brings a smile to my face. Especially the level with the marching band.
Henry Sullivan
Devil May Cry always makes me happy, 5 is coming out soon so now would be a good time to get the HD collection if you're interested. It gets better so don't focus too much on the sad times, just remember that those give meaning to the good times.
Thank you all for your recommendations, I'm getting these games asap
Just your typical break-up shit: she left last week after eight years, she was my first everything and now she's gone and I've been crying myself to sleep every night since.
Adam Ross
Wait, hold the phone. Maybe it's because it's right beside but is that fucking Mike Stoklasa from RLM?
Aiden Green
Megaman X4 with Zero is great for that to me, the game is so fun and the soundtrack is great
Isaiah Peterson
Dark Souls: Prepare to Die edition

Patapon is another great one. And I tentatively recommend God Hand. It's difficult so that might stress you out, but something about the atmosphere and mood of it is very cheery.

i feel it, buddy. happened to me a few months ago. it'll get better, but it's gonna hurt like a bitch for a long while. i recommend burying yourself in something immersive, like terraria or minecraft. something you can just lose yourself making progress on stuff, with little stress. osrs and e.y.e. also helped me in that regard. make sure to let it out if you need to. too much bottling up and you'll break down. it'll be alright in the end, and if it isn't alright, it's not the end.
Hey man, just wanted to say that, good as vidya is, what you really need is to focus on real life goals right now; no better way to pull out of a heartbreak than self improvement. Games are great but do not lose yourself in escapism.
It'll get better man, hang in there and keep fighting. We're all gonna make it.
