I don't even want to taunt them, it makes me feel like making fun of a cripple.
at least it's better than battleborn launch, r-right?
I'M ONLY HUMAN
>First Fallout 76
>now this
So what will be the next big AAA game failure this year?
fallout 76 was last year
and the answer to your question is obviously your favourite game
>Anthem is bioware’s worst reviewed game
DMCV
DmC5, it’ll get a 79
The Division 2 hopefully.
DMC5 or Shenmue 3 is the most likely scenario
Playing the demo I can confirm the gameplay is solid as shit, but I could definitely see some shit reviews anyway for people saying it "lacks music"
Fuck off discord lmao
Bioware has been utter shit since Dragon Age 2 was lazy and shit
Dragon Age Origins is Bioware's last good game.
i refuse to believen that that it took them 6 years to make this bare bones shit.
Doesn't EA pay reviewers? What's going on?
You don't have to hope on that one.
I’m not saying the game will be bad, I’m saying reviewers will say it’s nothing special because it’ll be more of what we got in the past.
only because game journos will have problems with the bosses and blame the devs for their incompetence.
What do you think is worse? Fans being so passionate about your games that they get mad as hell when you put out a flop (76)
Or people just not caring about you or your games and watching as the world just discusses other things without paying you any mind (Anthem)
>Fucking hell even Andromeda did better
Haha no way this is true lemme che-
>Andromeda is sitting at 72%
Holy fucking shit.
How is it that high?
franchise recognition
I suspect it will come out that they made an artifical grind to gear people towards the cash shop like folks did with Shadow of War and Ass Creed.
>swtor is gonna die as well
Shame really, I enjoyed the game.
It's the BRINK of EA
It'll do slightly better than the original actually
explain?
I'M ONLY HUMAN AFTER ALL
Im fucking glad it failed, Bioware has become shit and evey new game they shit out it becomes more obvious. Mass effect died for a medioker shooter, awful characters, shit story, repetetive missions and an uninspired world.
Bioware have been doing the former for so long people are just tired of them now, resulting in the latter. The latter is definitely worse though.
This, not a very good genre and the game is basically pure cringe
Bioware has gone downhill since EA bought them, this is probably their last game.
>medioker
So this is the power of Yea Forums, huh
Keep in mind this cripple fucked your girlfriend before becoming crippled.
it took them 6-7 years to make this game
The first one means people still have hope.
they don't, it's just used as an excuse if an EA game gets a high score. when they score low, it's a "fluke," or they "forgot to pay them." it's how anons cope with review scores for games that they'll never even play.
Don't forget, he is also your childhood friend
Looks like they're Bioworn out.
>Andromeda gets shit out of EA's Butt while the rest of Bioware work on Anthem
>It flops and they liquidate the team in charge rather than send people to fix that that shit, because everyone is too busy with Anthem
>February 2019, Anthem Flops
Good.
Your only decent franchise was Mass Effect and that was because of all the aliens people wanted to fuck.
Now Bioware can die and I never have to touch an EA game ever again
Cyberpunk 2077
You all know this.
I hate how blind these devs are. I didn't here a single good thing on a few sites about the demo
Nah, Brink was such a let down because it actually did show off some potentially interesting stuff initially.
Anthem has been getting shat on since it was announced, because even their bullshit pre-rendered "gameplay" teasers looked fucking boring.
God, why do Frenchies always assume we put spaces before question marks in English like their retarded language?
>game isn't good
>it's not bad either
>it just...is
a WILD FAT CARLOS has appeared
I was going to say Days Gone but one of the recent trailers made it look alright.
It was mindbogglingly stupid not to set Anthem in the ME universe to begin with.
Thats actually the fault of the community manager, they typically filter concerns to the dev team and they often disregard complaints as "trolls" in Fallout 76 for example- Pete Hines said the response was "Mostly positive"
Well shit. My bad for not spelling "mediocre" correclty.
Unlikely seeing as they could've done this in DMC4SE but chose to lessen the grind instead.
The difference is everyone had hawkeyes for EA because of the trail of shit they were leaving behind. ZeniMax didn't have this issue att. BRINK appeared as a fresh game in front of everyone.
In dante's case, the lack of music is a plus
Refunded this shit, thought it could be fun with bro's but fuck this loading simulator.
No god damn armor drops at all? what the fuck where they thinking?
>flashback to 2005
>bioware and blizzard are my favorite developers by far
What a sad turn of fate.
For Bioware the downward turn started with Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 2
>inb4 'but those are good game!'

Meh this one wasn't as fun as Andromeda
Bethesda will still exist, unlike bioware who are pretty much dead after this
>6-7 years
>they typically filter concerns to the dev team and they often disregard complaints as "trolls"
that would explain why a great many game companies with community managers completely fucking ignore feedback
>Mass Effect 2 was Bioware's last good game
Fixed that for you
Mass Effect 2 was a romancefag 3rd person shooter.
I hate how everyone loves mass effect 2, there was one point where I was actively trying to dodge all of the romance options and the game literally MADE me choose between miranda and jack because they were having a big argument over who I liked more.
Fuck Mass Effect 2.
Yes, they claimed they've been working on it "before destiny" to deflect the comparison and people pointing out its them chasing an already dead trend.
nah man that was Dragon Age Origins
>"b team" gets better scores with MEA when half the dev time was wasted
>"a team" gets six years and anthem is the result
How did they spend all that time and only have three strongholds?
Da2 and me2. Me2 was less obvious because it was ok on it's own but threw out all the rpg elements, so bait and switch.
Da2 was an obvious drop in quality and watered down rpg elements.
Mixed
Just like the races present in Anthem
Not anymore, all the good parts of this company have left. There’s no more of the developer I knew left
desu it was probably in development hell and scrapped multiple times and started from scratch. EA fucking piled in all their resources and teams into anthem so what we're getting was probably only done in like 2 years.
so who's gonna bite the dirt first?
ea
actiblizz
bethesda?
Dragon Age origins only gets confused as a good game because it was one of the first games of the 'crpg rennaissance.'
This doesn't dismiss the fact that even the dozens of shitty kickstarter games built in unity are better games of the same movement. DA:O was one of the worst games of the crpg rennaissance.
>Respekt wahmen
my face is tired
Yeah, I know, he's crippled. Follow the metaphor, nigger
No taste and also not being able to properly shit on it. EA would blacklist you if you gave it a 3, but they probably wouldn't do the same if it was a 7.
>"professional" critic opinion of a game means anything
Shame. I really wanted DA4 for porn models mostly
I mean it's possible Anthem could be set after ME3 and they're holding onto this reveal for when they're really desperate.
>watch this thinking oh wow its a fan trailer
>its an official trailer
kek
DA:I was biowares best selling game ever. DA4 will probably still happen.
>CP2077
>This year
>This generation
i'd fuck the one on the left desu senpai
You are retarded and mean right, correct?
we all know that it will be the GOTYAY
man that whole "paying subscribers het to play first" thing really backfired hard
no, she has crazy eyes and would probably stab me and i'm not into that
JUST
Did any of these devs quit and form their own companies? It sucks that they wouldn't be able to keep the rights to their respective series but it seems like the optimal thing to do
The only reason Andromeda did better was because of Mass Effect nostalgia bonus points, this would have been its score without it.
Anthem could have just been incorporated into Andromeda
9 community managers and 2 programmers?
>Did any of these devs quit and form their own companies?
a number of them yes, but few found mainstream success again.
This is very incomplete
WoW Classic. The biggest upcoming shitstorm.
Andromeda is just Mass Effect 1 with mediocre writing, ME3 Shooting mechanics, A Jetpack Jump and a better controlling Mako
It even kept the ME1 Jank, Uggo Face and bloated Inventory.
How did it come to this?
10 years ago everyone loved Bioware and all their IPs.
Fast forward to now and now everyone is asking for them to be put to rest.
And not just Bioware, absolutely everything has gone to shit.
Will Bioware survive 2019?
Well... first Battlefield V, a game that I for the past three months forgot even existed (though that WAS in part due to the holiday rush at my job), and for all of the shitty ideas and steps it took: still managed to top itself in failing. That game managed to hurl EA's stock prices down by a whopping 23%, now it's around 45% lower...
And if they did have success, they'd likely end up being bought back into EA. Weren't the Respawn founders like that? Escaped EA, started one of the call of duty companies, Activision bought them, they left and started Respawn, get bought by EA.
Please no
This is happening with almost all big companies now.
stop getting your talking points from jim sterling
Half Life 2 got rid of mazes because beta testers thought they were too hard
good. finally bioware will be put to rest. they should be gratefull. they don t need to make shit games anymore under EA
player feedback is a double edged sword. However, when you have genuine consensus, it can be pragmatic to at least look at what they're saying
I'm one of the few here who played it.
The gameplay, despite being filled with typical modern open world busywork is not bad at all, in fact, i'd say the shooting and such is the best in the entire franchise.
The problem with Andromeda is everything around the gameplay, including writing, the infamous animations and sometimes level design, specifically the Remnant vaults which were a chore.
Plus, they didn't do much with the hole "hey guise, it's a new galaxy!" thing, since it only had two alien species.
How do you think Bioware's handling seeing the Metacritic number internally? Are employees already scouting out new jobs?
It's actually a meme since the music gets more hype depending on how good you're doing so people saying it "lacks music" is a trap exposing that they're bad at the game
im guessing 87
EA. They killed Mass Effect, They killed Battlefront, They killed CODBlops, They killed Dead Space.
Bad or good they'll ruin things as time goes one. Enjoy Apex Legends while you can
>blunderpunk 2077
>gotyay
>it doesn't even look cyberpunk
>a shitty generic fps
lol ok
With how much every media outlet was fawning over it, there's no way Cyberpunk doesn't get at least a 90+ average
Those kind of testers are necessary because devs spend so much time with their creation that even convoluted shit makes sense, just because they've spent a lot of time in it.
That being said, I have no idea where they get some of these people.
And what's worse is if community managers actually are disregarding valid complaints and only informing the devs of smaller, more tangible stuff like bugs while saying everything else is great.
Trust me, employees are the first ones to know a game is going to get raped by critics.
Remember how a lot of devs, including that anti-white indian bailed out of Bioware right before Mass Effect Andromeda came out?
Hell, remember how Casey Hudson left like mid-way through development of Andromeda, and then came back to Bioware after the game flopped and the dust had settled?
Surely these devs browse social media related to their game and can see the feedback for themselves?
Yes I know that is a joke about journalists being bad at games, but goddamn,is better to suck than hear Dante's theme
So do you people just come to Yea Forums to circle jerk about games that flop?
Games being bad isn't something you should look forward to.
When AIDS spreads past physical boundaries and starts fucking up companies and abstract concepts.
I'm sure they're paying attention, specially the ones who actually care about making a fun game, can but what can they do? They still have to follow their bosses command. They can't just go in and start fixing shit around without explicit orders.
they probably think the vast majority of negative reviews/critiques are from people who hold a grudge or something
Nothing is forever, we still have things like Hollow Knight that are quality stuff made with care even if you may not like that particular example
can someone buy mass effect and just bring back shepard and have him zoom around space fucking all different types of aliens this would be a good game
Greediness and nepotism.
Nepotism is what has filled Bioware with talentless hacks, and greediness is the reason why Bioware is making some shitty Destiny clone instead of RPGs, you know, what they have always made and what they only have experience on.
back then they thought they had to be nice, because bioware is infallible.
altered carbon is better though
B-but Titanfall 3 will be good, right user?
Believe it or not, when you become an adult you spend more time at work and dealing with family than you do on Yea Forums and youtube.
>we want the unironic NPC audience
>based white kovacs replaced with captain america's sidekick
don't remind me
I wish they put a little effort into it and actually found out how to pronounce Kovacs. I haven't had this many people butcher my last name since ER
I wanted to laugh at this but then I realized that Bioware is pretty much done. It's like laughing at a fuck up of a neurotic kid who is going to get his head smashed in with a baseball bat by his drunk father.
It's fucking depressing.
>the best battle song in the game is Mad Qualia
>tfw it'll probably be JP version only
at least with the PC version it might get modded in
Dead Space 3 and Mass Effect 3 say no
How is dealing with feedback not part of a dev's job?
This
At least Destiny has gear instead of stat filler items
oddly specific
I'm sad my waifu is dead and cant come back
Imagine how mad Mike Ybarra is now, the fucking gimp.
>mfw everything we've been observing since TORtanic is finally coming to fruition
It's been a long time coming. I don't think they're coming back from this. I can't see a scenario where EA doesn't kill off Bioware now. That Dragon Age game announcement was a desperate plea from the company to not get shitcanned by higher ups should Anthem fail.
AAA expectations, but no AAA talent.
2019 the year all online multiplayer service AAA games will die.
Imagine getting BTFO by Fornite and Apex Legends of all things.
Gonna be alot of ''community managers'' sucking dick for food soon
Maybe Early Access can be an asset
Because they are developers not PR or community management. If a choice is made to react to player feed back its not done on the dev level.
Is Titanfall 3 even still in development?
I know a lot of people meme about how months ago there were journos complaining about the lack of music in the demo, but I can't see "lack of music" being a complaint in reviews. The reason being that it's been stated many times and in official material that DMC5 has dynamic music. The complaint I CAN see however is it being more like "DMC5 is absurdly hard, and punishes you for not being good enough by making the music amp up only when you have a high style rank". Despite the fact that DmC has the same thing but is much easier. I can't think of his name but one journo was already complaining that the D rank name being "Dismal" is too harsh.
No, Apex will be all Respawn works on for the next decade.
Even Kizuna Ai was getting SS ranks during combat, these journalists have no excuse.
To think everyone freaked out when Activision laid off 800 in redundant positions.
Who plays for Kizuna Ai?
Didn't she have auto on? I didn't see the whole video. That might have been another japanese chick who was playing it in a different video, though.
Division 2 or DMCV.
A japanese man.
In theory, yes. In practice, it's too easily abused and it can make players lose interest, since they're getting something unfinished instead of a polished experience.
At some point the dev in charge just has to make the final decision, look at what the testers are doing, consider whether those are valid issues or is the game meant to go in some very specific direction.
In the Half Life example, they likely didn't even see that place as a maze nor was it intended as one, so if one idiot got lost, there was no reason to keep that aspect. In Dishonored, the play tester likely didn't play the game up to that point, he was simply given that level without any backstory, possibly without instructions on how to play or what the game was about, so it's more understandable that he could've assumed it was basically an invisible wall, meaning devs felt the need to give more hints on what to do.
It's hard to say if the fault lies in the play tester or in how the devs organize the play testers. There's a famous case study where a focus group was asked on what their preferred coffee is and they all said black, but later on they actually all preferred to drink the one with sugar and cream, they just said black because they wanted to impress or thought that was the "correct" answer.
>work on it for 6-7 years
>get scores of 6-7 out of 10
pottery
>Was debating between anthem and exodus
>Ended up getting exodus
Dodged a bullet there
That brand of autism is perfect for gaming.
DA2 and ME3 were really the tipping point of the public's perspective on Bioware.
Knowing how most triple AAA games work nowadays, this game was probably redone a dozen times during the development time
>How did it come to this?
All the talent left Bioware not too long after DA:O was released. The Bioware we've seen this past decade was basically comprised of new inexperienced hires.
>lists westwood
>doesnt include westwood's magnum opus
Shame on you, faggot
bioware was literally never good
everything good they did was other people they oversaw or briefly absorbed, bioware have never brought anything to the table themselves
Don't dodge the next bullet.
im still amazed the multiplayer thing came out like 2 years after release and there was still a community for it
Where did the devs go?
this is priceless
>"Andromeda was made by their B-team, retard"
>does even worse
I still remember when you faggots said this way back then
The fact that Biodrones still exist on Yea Forums after ME3 proved how stupid the average person is.
Sounds like the title for a children's novel.
Either moved to other companies, or more likely, other industries. Most devs don't tend to last more than a decade or two before the burnout of constant crunch time, never having any real job security and having to constantly move from different states if not different countries, gets to them.
Yep, you mean the infinite procedural quest mode?
It was actually really badass
>make game.
>game get fans.
>shit on the fans to appeal to a wider audience.
>fans leave and new audicence barely gives a shit.
>ip dies.
>rinse and repeat.
It certainly does when a game is panned this bad especially when it’s from a SJW studio like BioWare.
This always surprise meme.
Also how the fuck did Capcom manage to nailed it with MH?
Nobody mentions RAGE 2?
Soruce of the pic?
Sonys piece of shit. Days something.
That's AA at best
We are talking about video games.
DA:O was questionable but there were good ideas, so while flawed it set up for a sequel well. ME2 was worrisome but at least they significantly improved combat gameplay and had mostly great dialogue. DA2 and beyond were just disasters, though.
Altered Carbon is shit after the first 3 episodes. And Ortega is pure cringe and ruins any scene she appears in.
The Hotel hologram of Poe was the only reason I kept watching
That's not 2019 you retard
They should invite Anita Saarkisian more often if they want positive reviews from soi boys reviewers
Honestly nobody will miss bioware if EA puts them to sleep
Poe was the main reason most everyone kept watching. Ortega's nude scene didn't hurt either. The whole thing did feel a bit like the whole crew and most of the cast were just phoning it in.
That's how it ended up getting 70s from the big magazines/blogs and not 40s like it actually deserved.
Bioware dream shattered once i started playing Dragon age 2. Something was wrong with the lame anime characters and same recycled map
It's weird how AA games are slowly coming back, between stuff like Rage 2, or Left Alive.
Kek, rest in piss bioware
I played andromeda and it is unironically a 7 out of ten. It's the epitome of average modern AAA games
>This game has absolutely nothing going for it except graphics which are a given for a AAA title in 2019... 7/10
They do, that's why it has a 70.
Press D to dab on Bioware
>The one guy is also giving crazy eyes
2019-2020
The Crash of AAA Games and Microtransaction,
Let's stop denying this 4chans...
It's good. AA should never have gone in the first place
>bioware hire lots of sjws/landwhales
>games go to shit
gee it's almost like forced diversity is bad or something
I agree, the less money on the line, the less Triple A cancerous gimmicks.
>Microtransaction
I wouldn't cut on that yet. see mobile games
It sucked back then and it still sucks now. Hurrr gears of war in spacceee
Read
This is a new era
More like Beaware(that our games are shit) HAHAHA
TODAY I WILL REMIND THEM
Shouldn't a 5 or a 6 be "average"
>see mobile games
I let that slide since mobile devices are becoming norm user. However microtransaction on main consoles is done for.
>been a bioware fan since fucking Baulder's Gate release
>slowly witnessed my favorite devs delve lower and lower
>TORtanic, ME3, Dragon's Age, ME:A, Marketing, Anthem
>now I'll witness their death
Laugh all you want, but they used to be top-tier
It's not even fun ragging on anthem because literally no one is defending it
If DMC5 lives up to the expectations (and its looking like it will), its deserving of an easy 95+
But knowing game devs, the game is going to lose 10-20 points for "being too hard"
But knowing game journos*
NOOOO!
never gonna get that jade empire sequel at this rate
uh oh
Is that Lobos up there?
I MAKE MISTAKES
Ya know I have the halo of the sun and metatrons seal on each shoulder. I can sortha understand their pain.
After the private beta reception, Ubisoft started giving a free game for anyone willing to preorder. They know the game will be shit.
J U S T
>He gave EA money
he's right you know
D
wasn't fallout last year?
>yfw you haven't given EA money in years
Is her pussy wet?
Just return it
I’m still a loyal battlefield player.
Battlefield V is a solid return to form. No premium and 50 type of the same gun like battlefield 1 also WW2 is favourite era. Hearing women die with that gay scream is delicious also.
I liked the demo. I want to play it. But I have got bored of games like destiny 2 so I’m probably a retard.
>Games being bad isn't something you should look forward to.
It should, that way we can force developers to deliver better games instead of relying just on cash grap, generic games.
>Battlefield V is a solid return to form.
it's not a return to form, they haven't made good battlefield since 2142
Because A team got hit with high turnover and they had to replace lost talent with diversity hires and pink haired sjws. The same happened to Montreal but the effect wasn’t as destructive. BioWare is dead. Dragon age 4 is dead.
Regardless, it's a Sony exclusive, so it'll get >80 by default
Up until the Bungie split and Apex Legends release I would have said EA, but now Activision-Blizzard is looking really bad really quickly
>the private beta reception
?
the reception was good
This. The 70 meme was funny but now it's just sad to see it sink even lower. We're seeing the death throes of a company that actually used to make decent games. Sure, it's current iteration desperately needs to die but you can't help but feel a little bad.
I have never played that. I started at Battlefield Bad Company 2. Battlefield Vietnam was my favourite.
Wouldn't be surprising given how much journos loved DmC. I doubt it'll sell poorly though and it'll get about a 80 on the lower end of the scale.
There was a journo complaining that music never really got that hype for him until he realised the music gets more hype the better your style rank, and got BTFO.
Division 2.
That shit likely won't even be out till 2020
When they want it to succeed
I can't see it happening. Capcom are weird about microtransactions and shit though, like for Re2 the classic outfits are unlocked when you beat one characters A run and they added the 98 costumes for free, yet the original soundtrack costs 3 bucks extra, and dmc4SE had microtransactions added yet they increased how many orbs you gain. Plus according to what we know you still get a decent amount of orbs anyway in this, and most dmcfags tend to replay the shit out of these games.
>andromeda did better
and it was a worse game
not that anthem is good or anything but this is more about hate bandwagonning than anything, most critics won't go against such strong public opinion
>10 points for every year they worked on the game
LOL
VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

WHILE THE EXECS AT UBI---
SHAKE THAT!
At least the game covers are 10/10
Stuff like this is why I don't get why pubs bet on huge hits. If you sink 6 years into a game and it flops, THEN WHAT?
DON'T CALL IT A GRAVE
CALL IT THE FUTURE YOU CHOSE
I too liked the demo then found out the starting location is the only location in the game. and what I thought were optional mmo-ish missions were actually part of the main storyline.
It's very boring
Was anyone looking forward to this? I heard practically nothing after the original reveal since everyone seemed to dismiss it as trying to be EA's answer to Destiny and all I heard were bad things leading up to release. I can't imagine the biocucks on Yea Forums caring much since its not a shitty rpg with romance options in it.
IM ONLY 64 AFTER ALL

You know you fucked up when Andromeda has a better score than Anthem. Good Lord...
Not many reviews out yet, some are definitely holding out for a bigger EA paycheck
So
0-40 negative
40-70 mixed
70-100 positive?
Should have worked on it for 10 years
Nah godcom has been on a fucking roll
I WEAR THIS CROWN OF THORNS
Should have worked on something worthwhile instead
imagine spending billions buying and hiring a super skilled team of white dudes who turn out smash hit global best selling games and software only to fire them, try to cash their game brand like its an actual culture totem and not a product, and then replace the dev teams with third world skeleton crews and diversity hires
>andromeda did better
>and it was a worse game
Andromeda was better, I want this meme to stop
Do i really need to link andromeda "Animations"?
>my face hurts
fucking kek
It's not like I'm asking these developers to make shit games. It would certainly be great if all games ever were made were good.
But that doesn't stop me from laughing at devs making terrible decisions and bad games
Not to mention the writing was a fucking trainwreck too.
>oh boy, let's establish a colony in another galaxy, everyone start fucking each other
>but sir, humanity recommended that our repopulation initiative bring along lots of gays and lesbians
Why'd they completely ignore the feedback people were giving to Destiny and The Division. They had years to see what things people did and didn't want from these sorts of games.
>"Chuck, can you stop coding for a moment and join our inclusivity training?"
>"I can't, Shaniquawa. There's lots of content missing on top of game breaking bugs and unfinished features."
>"Not a problem. Our new hire got it covered. Xe didn't even finish high school, but xe is a disabled lesbian mulatto with aspergers, so we're fine."
>"Shaniquawa, but I don't think..."
>"Please visit me in my HR office, Chuck."
the division 2
even if its good, no one even knows its coming out
I will never not be mad at this turd.
Faster fuckin load times than Anthem and it's still Mass Effect, so the aliens are still there.
What does Anthem have? And is it valuable enough to wait 5 minutes every time it loads?
Gays can still have kids, user.
I think there is a very good chance that they started over from scratch to make the game MORE like Destiny and The Division. Anthem has been in development for a long time.
So it's a worse game because of bad facial animations? That's all that matters?
Yeah but they'll just rape them.
>ZERO NEGATIVE REVIEWS
ITS A WIN BOYS
Funniest part is they claimed a lot of the devs were avid Destiny/Division players.
Did you not play it? It wasn't "facial animations", though those were dumb too. If you played it, you'd know half of the game's cinematics, the NPC's straight walk into the fucking floor or vanish into the skybox. Half of the canned animations in the game results in guns clipping inside their holder's skulls and shooting into the fucking ether. I'm not nitpicky at all and holy shit it was so immersion breaking it blew my mind
>evil dude comes on screen, starts making ominous speech, slowly inverts upside down while ominously threatening the protagonist, proceeds to spin like a fucking hadron collider into the sunset all the while the camera is panning around what was his ominous set piece
sad
because everyone left/fired.
>oh boy, let's establish a colony in another galaxy, everyone start fucking each other
You didn't pay attention, they actually told people not to reproduce until the system was settled and there's enough room for gays, lesbians and trannies when you have 20 thousand of each race. Population isn't an issue
Did the money for reviewers ran out or something?
to be fair 1-4 years of development
then EA says to start over and still have the same deadline
Because they managed to make it good enough that most old fans still liked it in the end
It'll be interesting to see if they can keep the ball rolling though. If Iceborne is the same old shit with another glut of Elder Dragons and flying wyverns with crappy, low effort weapons, I think World will fall over.
Capcom's been on the roll ever since they got rid of inafune and e-sports managers. There's a reason RE2R, DMC5, MM11, and MHW came after that
Now there's already rumors of a DR game, especially since TJ Rotolo is back with them
I see you in every thread trying to shill this meme. It’s really sad user.
meanwhile nigs in africa still live in huts.
Yeah he's a nigger, too
>It doesn’t look like Cyberpunk
Did I miss some epic meme?
Cyberpunk
No console reviews yet? Is that some serious damage control strategy?
He didn't even want to be in this game
Based retard
Goddamn this game is doing worse than Travis Strikes Again. And that was made with 100 bucks and a floppy disc
You know a game is bad when EA catered to youtubers and streamers to shill for their game, and now their telling you not to buy it day 1.
And if it doesn’t fail just like TW3 didn’t I’m sure you anti-CDPR cucks will spam Yea Forums nonstop pretending it did fail.
>got hyped when this was announced
>even made me play Destiny 2 just to play something that could be similar
>it's absolute garbage
I hate video games.
I don't think Shenmue 3 counts as AAA.
Mass Effect 3 was Bioware's peak, what a horrible timeline he inherited.
>Peak
Are you fucking for real? That’s when they hit the fucking ground. DAO was their peak. Everything since has been one big downward spiral
>Mass Effect 3 was peak.
Fuck no.
Yeah but this game is actually fun.
>All these AAA RPG moviegames getting trashed
my dick uhnn
No. Altered Carbon was shit, stop trying to shill it because that bitch with the weird face gives you a boner.
>all those fags in the dragon age threads constantly shilling that the game will be huge and a hit success even though barely anyone heard of it
>mfw every real person was right predicting it will be mediocre
Is Gears of War 5 still AAA at this point?
Division 2 for sure. Played the beta, it's absolute trash. Even Anthem was more exciting to me than that shit.
>It's not bladerunner simulator therefore I hate it
There's still the Anthem General on /vg/
Smart man.
and
Nobody gave a shit about GOW4, so I'd say 5 is looking like bargain bin tier vidya at this point.
I'm still looking forward to the future of the game (if there is one at all). I remember being really disappointed when Destiny came out back in 2014, a year later when TTK dropped it became one of my favorite games of all time.
Almost all looter shooters have released in a mediocre state, it seems like this kind of game requires some time to bloom.
Official List of Good Bioware Games:
>Baldur's Gate
>Neverwinter Nights
>KOTOR
>Mass Effect
>Mass Effect 2
Take ME2 off and you're pretty much right
jesus christ
Yeah, a bunch of shitposting about how it's not "real" cyberpunk because it has a day/night cycle instead of just always being night time.
How's that AA?
That's easily Triple-A
h-hayai
and mass effect and dragon age generals died a long ass time ago. It's basically a bioware general but temporary, especially since its the last bioware game
>above average isn't a positive review
? ? ?
>Nobody has the balls to score a review under 60
>at least its pretty
The facial animation/designs say otherwise
Left Alive
But I suppose that may be AA
PCGamer did.
>Games being bad isn't something you should look forward to.
Why? It's funny.
Don't tell me you think games are still a hobby.
Nope. As a longtime DMC fan I can tell you that the game is solid based on the public demo.
>Good
Your post is incredibly Leng post reminiscent. I am on to you.
When will AAA companies realize that Destiny-likes are shit?
The only reason the division 1 and Destiny 1 sold well was because they had stellar hype surrounding them as new IPs.
Rage 2 looks really fucking good actually
youtu.be
Bethesda is just run for retards who can't market a game for shit, exactly like how Prey, nuDoom and Wolf TNO blindsided everyone when they turned out to be worth playing
But did you enjoy Destiny 2 at least?
An user famously summed it up as Video Game:The Game
Literal retard
Destiny 2 is on sale right now. $30 for expansions + Forsaken. Worth it?
I ate your cereal this morning
Doubtful. There's very little chance it'll score anything less than an 85 on Metacritic
Anthem still has fans
Maybe, since you are no longer giving Activision money.
>7/10 isn't positive
I fucking hate review scores
JUST
For an AAA game it's a fucking disaster.
If you like looters, absolutely. You kinda missed a big part of Forsaken which was discovering everything new along with the community when it came out, but it's the best Destiny has ever been since Destiny 1 The Taken King.
>For an AAA game it's a fucking disaster.
Critically? Sure
Financially? Who the fuck cares. Destiny 1 was also critically mixed and sold like fucking brazzers
We'll see when the NPD sales data comes out
That was your last bowl, gook.
I enjoyed The Division enough to play it to endgame and I come back for Diablo 3 every season. Never played Destiny 1 or 2 though and I don't see an option to pirate/try out a demo or anything, maybe I'll ljust take the plunge. I don't see anything terribly offensive about it. Nothing is gonna top Anthem.
Its better than Anthem by a huge amount with Forsaken.
Apex.
Proved you wrong, cuckaroo.
Everyone makes mistakes user, I brought FF15 at launch and even enjoyed it for a time. What matters is you learn form your mistakes and avoid making them again
Thats how you know it was made by women.. Its boring and pretty.
>The black chick's awkward expressions through the entire scene
It's like the game knew and was trying to warn you the only way it could
>I brought FF15 at launch and even enjoyed it for a time
It has its upsides user.
>t. Windows Edition wanker
Maybe it's just because they added alot of nice QoL shit on the PC. And 60 FPS makes everything better
Inb4 a few months later and some sort of expansion or big patch comes out and people say "It's good now".
Just like how the utter garbage that was Destiny 1 & 2 gets any praise. Or The Division for that matter.
SHOOTING GAMES WHERE YOUR WEAPON AND THE ENEMIES SCALE BASED ON LEVELING ARE THE WORST FUCKING IDEA.
I don't get it. All these diablo style games are horribly boring to play at best. It's like a singleplayer MMO.
I don't see how this could be a "failure" since it should more or less be a re-release of an old game. If anything I'd expect negative reviews to say something like
>It was revolutionary for it's day, but in the modern world of X and Y Classic WoW will only deliver for the most hard core of MMO fans
Which can pretty much be translated to
>I'm such a fucking casual I can't even play a game as easy as Classic WoW
>t. Windows Edition wanker
See you got lucky user I got vanilla PS4
>Inb4 a few months later and some sort of expansion or big patch comes out and people say "It's good now".
A game should never be described like that, it should be good and playable at launch. In a perfect world we'd say "It's even better now"
Oh, I see
Sorry user... :
we only look forward to games from devs that are niggers that we all hate. ea, activision, bethesda, ubisoft, gearbox, etc. they can all fuck off and die.
>probably
no probably there. go back to retardera
I'm actually reasonably excited to give Anthem a try tomorrow.
I got it for free of course so I guess there's that too.
MAYBE I'M FOOLISH
Not in a million years.
LOL holy shit. Diversity was a mistake
Wait... that one on the left...
No fucking way
IT BROKE NEW GROUND!
Has there ever been a bigger vidya blunder than this?
$100 post
Late stage capitalism
>more than half of the game's score comes from graphics
I wish we could get Westwood back
plenty
FF XV
MGSV
Why is it every time these companies start hiring large numbers of women everything turns to shit?
>Being this dumb
>Bioware is pretty much done
It's amazing to me how many of you think this. EA said before Anthem was even finished that if it failed Bioware would be fine.
Because mandatory minimums are corrosive and insulting. There are plenty of examples of great female game devs, but when they start hiring Everyone because they're sexist if they don't, things start falling apart.
That sheboon's grimace is scarier than anything I've encountered in a horror game.
holy shit
If you watch the game they actually reuse some of the assets from Andromeda. Some of the animations in the cut scenes where the guns just kinda flop around on the characters back when they holster them (even though they sit on the hips).
Were going to get a story about how this game was dealing with all kinds of engine issues and scope creep until EA finally had enough money flushed down the toilet on incompetent designers.
EA has largely given up on Anthem in favour of Apex.
They stopped paying reviewers for it, the negative reviews are the reviewers trying to spite EA.
>Believing EA
Because they're not hiring them for their qualifications and capability. They're hiring them to meet diversity quotas, which is, unless you're consistently raking in an exceptionally huge profit margin big enough for you to burn piles of money and be okay, financial suicide.
dunno, I keep reminding them
DARKNESS
IMPRISONING ME
>not playing as asexual Shep without a picture next to his dresser in 3
This hurts you
I was hearing more about their diversity quotas than this fucking game.. What were they thinking releasing it with such poor advertising.
Can anyone think of another advert for this that wasn't the E3 showcase?
That chick is making faces like she saw him glitch out too and is trying to ignore it.
Plenty, considering not many people were hyped for this and a lot were wary after so many years of blunders from Bioware.
You dumb motherfucker
>Angry joe finding out he won't get paid for this cameo.
The thing is, unlike F76 or Anthem, DmC5's prelease gameplay looks good. It could still get terrible reviews and sell like shit, but there probably wouldn't be a narrative that reviews are actually reflecting quality, like they did with F76 and are with Anthem. It'd just be like Godhand over again or something.
EA pays streamers now, reviewers are useless
I just want to see Yahtzee roast it.
AAA studios unable to release bug-free, complete games on time.
he's not wrong
>skill based game
>90% of the appeal of DMC is being stylish and playing on hard as fuck difficulties
journos will play it for 1 playthrough and call it a day without even learning how to jump cancel
FFXV got a 4/10.
LADS IT'S AT 63 NOW
The last EA game I played was NASCAR 2001
From who you? It has an 81metacritic somehow though.
It's actually funny to consider that letting players play a week earliy may have actually made review numbers go down. Since it took a few days for reviews to come out, nearly a week, and in that time the narrative around the game was already widely known because so many people were playing and streaming and uploading videos. People forget how jacked into the communities videogame reviewers are. If Anthem had launched normally on the 22nd, I bet the scores would still be pretty low, but I bet they wouldn't be low 60's low and the narrative would be more positive than negative. But since players have already made it apparent how terrible the game is, most reviewers are too.
It's not quite bandwagoning per se, but more that people have already been presenting the game a certain way and convinced other players and reviewers in a way they might not have had reviewers been able to review in a vacuum.
Dylan has been in production since 2012 even if the core gameplay is a boring looter shooter how was it still come across as a unfinished technically incompetent mass. This isn't Bioware first Rodeo. What would they doing this whole time?
Based. This is what happened with the USSR.
Last of Us part 2
Too Human...it's a video game.
Will Red Dead Redemption be the last good game before vidya crashes and we wait for a new renaissance? It’d be really poetic if that were true.
Holy shit you're right.
you blind nigga
I actually think these anons are right.
Nowadays games get carpet-bombed with negative reviews if it offends someone or it's missing one feature that some people really wanted but is otherwise solid. Then journos will write terrible reviews about how they struggled to get 70% of the way through on the easiest difficulty because they used all their healing items and red orbs and are dying to a rematch boss.
Basically the only reviews you can trust are the ones from your own two eyes and the ones from Yea Forums.
Yea Forums because you can tell if a game is good when literally everything people use to shit on it is a meme since they have no concrete arguments why it's shit
Journalist here, we rated it 5.5/10.
Fuck you, I liked that game
I remember this fucking picture
2010 I wanna say? Back when there was still a Bioware defense force doing apologia for DA2 and ME2?
Fucking called it, even though it's not exactly the most off the wall prediction.
Perfect.
That's gypsie witchcraft
>that pic
kek. unintentional humor is always the best humor
>tfw you'll never fuck Benjamin Franklin's tight neovagina
Source on this. I want to have big laff
unironically liked this
The girls expression is literally pic related.
It's the expression when you're live on TV and your co-host showed up hammered and just passes out on air and you have to play it off and keep going.
andromeda did better simply becaues people wanted to believe and games journos being extra sensitive to the social justice controversy nonsense swirling around the game.
it's very difficult to get anyone excited for a yet another multiplayer shooty game that looks incredible generic and try hard. Market saturation and mp shooty fatigue almost guaranteed it got a mediocre score. People were desperate for something like Andromeda, it just couldn't deliver.
Jews and their feminist marxism
lmao nah CDPR would rather scrap the game entirely than push out a shitty game. it's going to be excellent for people who liked the witcher. personally the setting does absolutely nothing for me, but because it's CDPR, i know it will have a lot of content and be worth whatever they're asking.
Everything's going to shit lately, jesus christ
>Metro Exodus is mediocre compared to Last Light and 2033
>KH3 is mediocre
>Anthem is a travesty
>Titanfall, one of the only inspired shooters to come out in a fucking age is dead in favor of a good-but-bog-standard battle royale that everyone loves for being free-but-not-fortnite
>DICE fucks up Battlefront 2 and then makes a decent-to-play but ultimately fucking boring WW2 battlefield
>Bungie has been getting fucked in the ass by Activision for the past several years and now a lot of the talent is gone and their future is uncertain
>Call of Duty has gone full circle and the fans of the franchise are now lauding the series for dropping mobility mechanics and going back to basics
>VR could genuinely be a great new medium but there's not enough money behind the software to make a truly great experience
I'm honestly expecting DOOM to fuck it up just to complete my torment. I have a bad feeling.
Did they actually learn and not just Destiny 2 it up?
The moral of the story is to stop taking teams that specialize in making story-heavy RPGs and assigning them to make multiplayer looter shooters.
AFTUH AWL
Not a chance. No one liked the first one. The Division 2 will sell a fraction of the first one.
>Call of Duty has gone full circle and the fans of the franchise are now lauding the series for dropping mobility mechanics and going back to basics
You want to know why this happened? Console players, their main audience. There were some minority groups that complained for PC, but all the dodging and mobility on consoles frustrated the casual audience so they bitched until Activision buckled and dialed back to boots on ground.
7/10 is an average score when you look at actual score distributions
doubt
great show though
so how do you pronounce kovacs then?
>he was a ghost the whole time
Dude spoiler that shit.
Lads, is anyone else playing this on Xbox One X? The performance is pretty dysmal, especially in the free roam. Anyone else dealing with this?
>telltale, visceral, bosskey all fucking dead
>The whole blizzard and activision shit show with 900ish people getting cut
>Bioware is now a husk getting ready to be put down
>Fallout 76 made even some die hard Bethesda fans turn on them
Jesus Christ what a fucking shit show train I can't tell if I'm happy or depressed at watching companies explode.
Speaking of, Swedish Agency of Equality managed to follow that cycle in less than 12 months last year. Started up in January, decision to dismantle in December after months of staffing problems from rampant burnout and employee turnover.
Whistleblowers told of systemic workplace bullying, discriminatory hiring practices (100% white women) and wasting all funding on menstruation certifications and other total bullshit.
>DICE has been milked dry and only produces flops
>Bioware has been milked dry and only produces flops
>Respawn strikes gold out of nowhere
Calling it now, Respawn is going to become EA's next big cash cow. Start expecting 1-2 titles per year, multiple regional studios, bloated budgets, and huge advertising campaigns. Respawn will become the new DICE, and will join EA Tiburon in keeping EA afloat for another 5 years or so while they search for a new studio to fuck over, acquire, and then milk dry.
Heh
i refuse to buy or even play another Bethesda game unless they fix shit they should have fixed years ago. There is no way I'm trawling through another elder scrolls game with their sorry excuse for combat. it's a joke. and the only redeeming factor, the magic system, kept getting more and more comical over every iteration. Mods can only do so much and they've been steadily making mods harder and harder to make. Now with their exclusivity launcher, they're dead to me unless they blow me away with the trailer. starfield is going to be another shallow shitshow which will only earn them more enmity from everyone.
When a site called FANDOM gives you 5/10 you know you fucked up.
>Make a deal with the devil
>Cry because the devil proceeded to rape your ass
Remember that these companies have no one to blame but themselves
test
That has no bearing
>play anthem
>install mass effects again
i only ever got through the first one and then some of the 2nd. Maybe this time I'll beat 2 and 3.
>Call of Duty has gone full circle and the fans of the franchise are now lauding the series for dropping mobility mechanics and going back to basics
Probably because those mechanics ruined the formula that made people like COD in the first place.
Pointless crap, terrible, boring maps since BO2 and guns that don't feel different from one another, those the reasons the latest COD games are so mediocre.
>Mass Effect 3 was Bioware's peak
Jokes are supposed to be funny user
>dmc5
Lol no. They've already shown plenty of gameplay and it looks solid as hell. I don't know what happened at Capcom prior to RE7 but they've been on a roll ever since.
It's capcoms cycle of releasing good shit, the dmc1/3 resi 4's, then vomiting bad shit, umbrella chronicals resi 6. We're on a roll but they'll be back soon enough.
He said for AAA games, not all games.
Even half their "bad" shit like RE6 or DmC are still enjoyable enough to play. I'd sooner play either of those over grindy fucking Borderlands clones.
Nah, my cdpred bros will deliver and we'll have something amazing once more
>Shenmue 3
Is it still a thing? The Kickstarter campaign looked more like a scam than anything.
A-fucking-MEN
Im playing the game right now the story is OK ur friend that tries to act like a clown is annoying but that shooting and flying is rly fun tho I hope the end game isn't garbage I just wana try hard with friends n play on the hardest difficulty (bought it in kinguin for 40 euro 60 for all those bad reviews is just too much)
I fucking hate myself. I still want to get it.
whoa...
DmC was ninja theory though, not the in-house devs. Tameem will always make mediocre games.
>LE TORTANIC WE DID IT Yea ForumsROS WE CAUSED A TORTANIC DOOD QUICK GUESS THE NEXT FAILURE NO DEV CAN STAND AGAINST THE EPIC MIGHT OF THE Yea ForumsROS
Most of the games you fags shitpost here succeed with flying colors in spite of you. Not even NMS actually failed financially.
Even if you get booed, you can take comfort in the fact that people care enough to want you to be better.
>Call of Duty has gone full circle and the fans of the franchise are now lauding the series for dropping mobility mechanics and going back to basics
Titan bro here. People were spamming Call of Duty should be "boots on the ground" since Blop2, wanting a return to a more grounded experience both literally and in terms of setting. Apex Legends was heartbreaking but it probably was the best direction for Call of Duty tried to return to a less is more approach of its glory days.
Instead they turned Blops4 into ability driven a hero shooter but for some bizarre reason no one seemed to notice
Well... There's Crackdown 3, which was dragged through the mud.
RAGE 2 looks like any other generic fps. It's bland and barely anyone asked for it.
And more then 20 reviews still unscore. Will it get lower? Probably no one will give it more then 70.
I wish Armond White reviewed video games.
The weird thing about Crackdown 3 is that fundamentally it's not a terrible game, and it's not exactly "lacking" in what it sets out to do. The problem is that years of development delays and overhype about a shitty cloud destruction system that didn't make it into the final game wouldn't of prepared people for basically playing a sandbox game that's near-identical to the older games at the tail end of a generation later. Something other games, including Saints Row 4, have essentially taken and improved upon significantly.
500 million dollar budget game

Refuse delivery, they'll take it back and automatically refund without you needing to package it up and get a label and go to the Post office
AAAHHH SHIT! I completely forgot about this game. I played the crap out of it when it came out
Post yfw you didnt preorder anthem and never intended to
Dragon Age's most popular mod gets rid of two areas in the game. So let that sink in for you.
You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain
They got rid of Inafune.
The last of his influence was washed out a while ago and they purged a lot of shit, now they can get some good shit going again until the next downward spiral, whenever that is.
>How did it come to this?
She's like that through the whole game too. It's like watching a really bad movie where you can tell one of the actors knows he's in a shit movie and can't quite keep his face straight through his scenes.
Rage 2
fuck Bethesda launcher
Did everyone not realize this was a prediction and not a joke?
lmao
>terrible sequel to a beloved franchise gets critical acclaim despite being obviously broken
>years of people looking at me funny for saying said company and its games suck ass
>a decade or so later a straw breaks the camel back and every normie and his mother starts hating on said developer/company
Its like bethesda all over again
Dragon Age II was when I knew every review site was full of shit and not to be trusted.
>virgin
nice
someone edit some pepes and wojacks into this
He didn't bail, his contract was done and they didn't rehire his ass.
Where?
Nah probably just some retarded shitskin larping badly as a white guy online, plenty of the things here.
I got Destiny 2 for free thanks to PS+
Is it worth buying all the shit for it now? I'm gonna keep plus for the forseeable future and by the time I'd actually have to buy the game to play it'll be dead
>people who defended mass effect Andromeda and praised it for great side characters shit on anthem
Played hour, and at least it doesn't make me want to shoot everyone I met compared to andromeda
If the division 2 is uplay only, it will crater
It was not a good Bioware Game, but it was a good game made by Bioware, and that's the difference.
The vidya industry became another Hollywood. Too big and bloated to utilize what made their products work in lieu of safer mass appeal. yet also too big to ever entirely fail and not hook enough saps to survive.
I fear it won't be long now until the suits somehow come after Indies and AA's in the same way Bethesda/Valve declared war on modding, or how Netflix and Amazon are basically funneling indie-films.
my only issue isnt even an issue
i just wish it were more 'life is fucked, right?' cyberpunk than 'we're really all robots now, so who gives a fuck' cyberpunk
because when you bring gunplay into it, who really gives a shit if everyone is saved in some mainframe anyway? especially when people are walking around with augmentations sticking out of their ass? so, eh.
but that's more to do with the source material anyway.
This is actually really bad for Bioware cause from what I've seen no one really cares? and that's the worst outcome of all.
Not counting shitposting here obviously, but with Andromeda there was tons of press about it's failure, was everywhere on twitter etc. With this game it's just like "...ok". It just seems like such a non-event compared to Andromeda or even Fallout 76.
It's not even the fact that it was received like that, it's that Bioware has had so many blunders that people have grown indifferent towards them.
And it's obvious Bioware is on the line because of this, which is why I don't understand why, if EA told them to make a Destiny clone and went the futuristic route, why didn't they make it set in the Mass Effect universe?
The people who worked at Bioware 10 years ago are long gone. It's an EA studio that own the name now
I think watching it in spanish helped my viewing. I didnt think it turned to shit until about the last 3 episodes myself. Sci fi and cyberpunk are okay with loose ends imo, shouldnt have tried to rush it.
really enjoyed it though. makes sense that they combined several characters from the book into the few we see in the show.
Notably excluded: everyone that gave it middling reviews. The word-of-mouth about those games are obvious even in their launch numbers
It has probably the most boring loot ever so maybe
I don't think I've ever seen anyone else fall from grace so hard. Bethesda & Blizzard are shit on constantly sure, but at the end of the day people do still care and will get upset if they continue to fuck up.
I actually liked Inquisition but if this failure causes the 4th DA to be cancelled I honestly wouldn't really care at this point
You faggots are completely desensitized to any new gameplay. Until you dorito dick neckbeards can play something in the 11th dimension nothing will ever be good enough to tingle your tentacle. I’ve been in and out of the gaming scene my whole life and had a stint where I didn’t even so much as own a tv for five years. Fast forward to me now and I’ve been playing pretty much everything that comes out for the past year and a half. Anthem is definitely one of those games that feels different. I played for the first time tonight because I’m a normal fucking person who doesn’t get shit before it’s actual launch. I can’t wait to go to work tomorrow and tell every single person how SHIIIT THAT’S DOPE! this game really is. This type of engine and gameplay is what is going to usher in a whole new level of immersion, right back into your mother’s bosom.
Almost everyone gave DA2 praise.
It got faint praise, but every youtuber and podcaster I listened to back then were hot-and-cold about it. They all had the same complaints, it just depended on how much you cared that it was now action-oriented, shorter, and super-linear
If it's the Deep Roads and that magical tower or whatever place then it's literal casualfags who don't like it.
>it got faint praise
get out of here with your revisionist BS, it got LOADS of high praise.
AJ trashed it.
