I feel like 5 is fair for this game. It's got a somewhat fun loop and nice graphics but you've seen everything there is to see (in environments, enemies, bosses, weapons, etc.) after about 15 hours, and it suffers from a plethora of issues, most notably the absolute dogshit UI. I don't feel ripped off by playing about 20-ish hours of it as part of Origin Access Premier, equivalent to renting something back when you could actually do that.

Maybe it could become a 6 if they actually add anything worthwhile in later patches, rather than the bare minimum functionality of the patch we just got. Not that I'll still be playing then. It already got boring 5 hours ago.

And ostensibly a 5/10 is average, and a 5.5/10 slightly above average. Now think of the last time IGN or Gamespot or whatever gave a 'real' game ANYTHING lower than a 6, i.e. decently above average.

For the most part it runs fine, but does have some occasional big dips during bigger firefights and set pieces and load times can be long. Nothing that ruins the game overall though and they have said they are working on a patch for the performance and load times on consoles.

I think this is pretty accurate though. DD is extrenely overrated. I love it and have 200 hrs in it, but its pretty heavily flawed. Its only saving grace is the combat.
Skyrim all around is a much more solid game. I wouldnt say its a 9.5 but its definitley a solid 8.

Paid advertisements aren't "Here's some money, now give us a good review", they're "Here's some money, boy, sure would be a shame if we STOPPED giving you money because you gave one our games a bad review, huh?". The thing is, if EVERYONE gives a game a bad review, and the writing has been on the wall about Anthem for a long time now, then there's no recourse. They can't stop giving everyone that advertising money, because then they're the ones up shit creek, not the reviewers.

i enjoyed DD a lot but it is basically the same as anthem in terms of how shit most of the game really is, and only has a few areas where it really shines, although DD obviously was so great in some aspects that it grew a cult fanbase. For DD and Anthem there is potential that is never actualised, and a lack of respect shown to the consumer for the value of their time and money. Maybe Anthem will improve over time, but the amount of work it will take is sizeable, pretty much like making a new game. Most likely it will always be shit with only a few glimmers of greatness that never amount to anything.

A 5/10 isn't average, the average is the average. For games this is somewhere between 6-7/10.

Here's a (You) for your bait but I've been playing Anthem and it sure as fucking hell isn't worth $60.
A lot if not most guns feel like they have next to no punch to them, and while the actual abilities feel nicer to use (I tend to use a Cryo Glaive into Tempest Strike for a combo on my Interceptor), the gunplay is always a big portion of a game so for it to not be as good as say Destiny's is an issue.
The missions aren't very varied with the cloest approximation to a change in most is carrying shit over to the relics to turn them off.
The load times even post-patch are too fucking long so you'll always run the risk of your rando team running off without you and forcing you to go through another loading screen to catch up. The game has too many fucking loading screens in general.
Not even getting into the lack of content or the lack of visual progression due to the way cosmetics work.
Anthem issues aside is ok, the problem is that an ok game made by a developer who claimed it was the reason an entirely different game was practically done by interns and published by a company hoping it can become a big new IP that they can rely on is a game that isn't gonna survive in a market where mediocrity is prevalent in the AAA space already and only gets away with it from name recognition.

ME3MP is ironically the best gameplay and some of the best storytelling in ME3.
The classes got you to think more about the identity of each faction and each race. The maps were all really solid and encouraged a mix of offensive and defensive styles.
And I could go in DEEP about how even the most basic classes (the human classes) had a ton of tactical and strategic choices present in the kits. It's astounding to me how Bioware can't do better than a tacked-on multiplayer mode from 6 years ago.
It was pretty fun though, I loved the DLC stuff they added. They got pretty crazy with it, adding Volus near the end. Talon Merc was always a favorite though

The multiplayer was the only fun I ever had with 3 but they really went crazy with melee abilities and powers with the free DLC characters that I almost forgot how much I hate the singleplayer mode. The paladin with the shield melee gave me some of the dumbest fun I had with the entire series.

Fuck, I wish. That at least would mean there's new maps at the end of the game. Fucking the boss room in one of the Strongholds is reskinned for one of the phases of the Final boss (which is also reused in its entirety for one of the end game Strongholds too).

they're still pretty bad, even when they are shorter, which is apparently not universal. The main problem is their frequency, not necessarily their length, though that was bad too and still probably pretty bad on HDDs.

Some may have been fixed, a whole lot were introduced in the "Day 1" patch too.

That said, even if the load times were seconds long and all the bugs were fixed, it would still be a mediocre game.

YEah, it really showed some surprising creativity.
The last DLC pack was them just figuring out interesting ways to flip existing assets but I appreciated it ultimately. Playing the Juggernaut or Awakened Collector was pretty enjoyable especially on Platinum difficulty
I was always a fan of the Batarian Brawler Vanguard: charge in and then cancel into heavy melee
Though I won’t complain about the guns, the fucking Samaritan Shotgun and gets SMG and fucking Whaling sniper rifle were all fun to use, if not completely effectivd

Dragon marked for death would probably get game of the month if it wasn't a natural casual reviewer repelling game. It's Knights in the Nightmare all over again.

Crackdown 3 was a case of better than expected, but only because nobody really expected anything thanks to the constant delays and dev hell.

I would rather play this than Anthem and there is zero sarcasm in my voice.
