Is your body ready for microtransactions, Nintenbros?

Maybe he learned from EA's mistakes

>EA BAD

No, unregulated Capitalism is bad for consumers and workers interest. Don't hate the player hate the game.

You do know the nippons own and run Nintendo.

Nintendo of America is just a regional distributor and marketer.

isnt he just a marketer

Okay but EA is still shit.

Head of NoA isn't going to impact very much for consumers. We're mainly just losing a beloved marketing personality more than anything.

>Bowser now controls Nintendo

Based.

Put a super crown on him

NO. SHUT THE FUCK UP.

I mean the things it does are shit, but its just playing capitalism. You can not expect a corporation to be moral at the cost of profits when its competitors are not.

>Paid online
>Day-one-DLC
>Attacks on fan projects but only if it makes them look lazy
>Amiibos

Nothing will ever convince nintentoddlers they are supporting the very evil they claim to be against.

>Head of NoA is a former marketing head
>Head of NoJ is a former marketing head
Oh fuck.

>Bald woman

That's my fetish.

you can't force them to be moral, thats individual choice, they're still shit if they don't considered it regardless of economy.

EA is still shit

HANG ON TIGHT BOYS

I want to believe bro

EA is shit

>you can't force them to be moral, thats individual choice
You can enact laws that protect things like workers and outlaw immoral practices. The only reason companies do not have child labor anymore is because it is illegal.

>Worked at EA when they created Dead Space, Skate, Mass Effect 2, Alice Madness Returns, and the Sims 3
>Yea Forums just sees EA and thinks about the shit that happened in the last couple years
you guys are retarded

YOU HAVE DONE IT NOW

Reggie was also a marketing guy though

Amazing.

>muh ebul capitalism
Every other company is playing by the same rules, including the Japanese industry. Some are particularly worse than others, as it is the case with EA.

Hell, what even makes you think you would have video games with any other system? Just fuck off already with your pseudo-intellectual garbage about economic systems.

The tied up Mario and Luigi in the background is a cute little touch. Maybe this guy won't be so bad.

>Every other company is playing by the same rules, including the Japanese industry. Some are particularly worse than others, as it is the case with EA.
No they are not. Japanese companies have different laws than America so they are playing a different corporate game.

And I said UNREGULATED capitalism, not capitalism in general.

>makes you think you would have video games with any other system?
A desire to play games? Do you think things only appear under capitalism?

Enjoy being a wagey for the rest of your life while some millionaire who owns your building lives a luxurious life.

>Bowser worked for the enemy and then took over Nintendo
that's actually pretty funny

Why not give the position to Trinnen? He's worked there forever and a pretty cool guy.

>oh no a businessman works for Nintendo now
>let's forget that Reggie was a job hopping businessman before Nintendo and worker for unrelated companies like pizza hut

He lost the donuts and Reggie's 3ds

Why are Mario and Luigi tied up in the background?

I-is he the real Bowser?

>No they are not
Of course they are. Every American company benefits from the same laws. EA doesn't exist on its own. They're shit because they design most of their biggest games by committee. All regulation in the world simply couldn't fix uninspired, trite art.

And if "worker's rights" is an issue, then Japan is especially notorious for people overworking. If cases like Konami are anything to go by, they aren't treated any better than they are in the West.

>A desire to play games? Do you think things only appear under capitalism?
To the large degree of we have now? No, I don't think so.

No, the only ones who make even more retarded business decisions than EA is Nintendo, he'll be amateur hour.

>EA Dindu nuffin!

What is wrong with Nintendo fans. Why do they do shit like this.

>user specifies unregulated capitalism as a problem
>takes this as an attack on all capitalism
retard

AND SO IT BEGINS
A NEW ERA OF SHITPOSTING

Thats exactly my fucking point, AMERICAN CONSUMER AND WORKER LAWS ARE BAD AND LET COMPANIES LIKE EA AND ACTIVATION DO IMMORAL THINGS WHILE THE OWNERS PROSPER. THIS is the problem. EA thrives by gobbling up smaller good companies and refurbishing them into making their trash, save a few companies they think they can make more money off by leaving them to their own machinations (Respawn for example)

Japan is no saint especially in workers rights, EU is a better example.

Its a commonly held belief among socialist that capitalism was very important into the industrialization of the western world and the innovation we have seen, but we do not need to industrialize anymore and capitalism is just a leech on society that lets the 10% own 90% of the wealth.

Just because something did something well in the past does not mean it is still the best option. If we magically switched to socialism right now we would still have games, arguable even more passion projects than we do now due to the bloat of big companies we see today.

He's already been at Nintendo for 4 years and is responsible for how good the switch marketing has been in the US. It's fine.

To say it's "unregulated" is to say nothing at all. It's a term that's devoid of any meaning because it was never specified. The only point he came close to a concrete idea was more "regulation" but that doesn't fix anything. It just gives more arbitrary power to the government. How does the idea of having a tax on violent games sound?

So you ARE complaining about capitalism as a whole, and suggesting we replace it entirely. Can you possibly be more disingenuous?

Treating game design as a mathematic formula for success is an issue of hyper-rationalization, possibly greed, and that goes well beyond just "muh 1%". Just because you are a garage indie band, doesn't mean your music is any more creative.

Again, there's nothing that regulation would fix about generic games. Just fucking don't buy it. That's what I've been doing to most of western AAA gaming, all without needing to go on a rant on how society should change.

Forgot to add:
*doesn't mean your music is any more creative OR your intentions any more pure

>So you ARE complaining about capitalism as a whole, and suggesting we replace it entirely.
In an ideal world yeah I would abolish capitalism at least in America but I do not see that as realistic so a far left capitalism type of thing would be the best I think we can feasibly do without a violent revolution.

I do not see the point you are trying to make, some of the best games we have had in the past decade have been indie games from passion projects and some of the worst have been from big corporations trying to use these formulas to keep player retention or to leech money out of the players.

Regulation is not meant to fix games, its meant to ensure safety for workers and to abolish anti-consumer practices like lootboxes.

And we can see how much of an effect your boycotting has done, none. The system will not change from boycotts because not enough people will do it, they will play a game if its fun. I am a part of this, Apex is fun af but it has lootboxes.

He looks like he fucks black guys.

I bet he only got the job because of the name. A bowser is now running Nintendo. What a fucking timeline we live in.

He posts cute doggies tho

>some of the best games we have had in the past decade have been indie games
Highly subjective statement. I for one have little interest in Metroidvania-style games or the dozen flavors of retro pixel platformers, which are also incredibly derivative to me. One quick look at my Steam or PSN libraries or wishlists show that most games I've played the most, or games I want to buy (or pirate for that matter) are from big publishers, largely Japanese, older games, or more niche genres like strategy.
My biggest issue with the modern west is this obsession with cinematic games that potentially affect the pacing precise gameplay/controls in a negative. High production values don't bother me in the slightest. I have very fond memories of MGS, and that was always a big budget series with an extremely idiosyncratic vision.

>And we can see how much of an effect your boycotting has done, none
You assume I care about doing activist work. I simply ignore what I don't like and turn to something else better, not because I'm under the delusion I'm working towards some utopia.

Really boggles my mind how a simple PR guy managed to develop such a fanbase/cult

someone post this to his twitter!

Isn't Reggie just a marketer?

So how much did his name influence the decision to pick him? I know it’s sort of frivolous to pick someone because of their name, but it had to be at least 10% of the thoughts going through the head of whoever picked him.

>thetruebowser
Based

It sounds like something Nintendo would do.

>Reggie gets overtaken by Bowser
Sounds like a shitty April Fools joke

>EA created those games
>not the devs who worked hard to get those ideas off the ground and even brought to a twinkle in the eye of the marketing fucks at EA who repeatedly told them no
>not the devs who worked on several of the titles after hours, on their own time, before EA even looked in their direction
>not the devs who were swindled out of royalties by their contracts because of EA
yeah, thanks EA

This, he left before the whole Battlefront II thing, he probably saw that Wilson was a total fag and that EA was gonna get shitfucked and jumped to Nintendo.

youtube.com/watch?v=vprdUl5TUDE

He was also the head of marketing for the Switch. I think NoA will be in hood hands.

He left EA because he wanted them to stop milking existing IPs and focus on creating new ones

oh shit
