You should be fine. The game's only time limit is extremely generous. There's nothing that's missable if I remember correctly so you can rush to complete the license test and get rid of the time limit if you want. Once you pass the test there are no time limits.
Firs is much better than Sophie. Lydie & Suelle is better as well. Sophie is one of if not the weakest in the series.
