You had the elemental wands in BotW if that counts, even if they were tied to the durability system. I agree that we need magic back but the line between magic and tools has blurred, and a magic bar seems to conflict with the insistence on the player being able to use whatever item they want at any time via the cooldown replacing inventory management. I think what I'd like to see back is something akin to Zelda 2, where you had all these spells to augment or enhance your capabilities, or stuff that works in tandem with items.
