they're selling for $99 something that equates to an NES controller. by default it has 2 buttons, a dpad, menu, and the other button I can't remember the name of.

Anything more you have to plug in additional peripherals, like joysticks, or additional 3.5mm jack compatible devices to get access to more buttons. there's 20 fucking buttons on the controller, that's 20 devices you need to plug in to get the same experience as someone else got for $50 with a regular controller.

The additional buttons, joysticks and mounts and other shit is like $50 a piece. You could easily spend over $600 building a setup that let's you play modern AAA titles with all the control bloat they have. like says, the main controller is just two customizable 4 directional pads.

they're not. you get 1 unredefinable pad, and 2 buttons. those big black things are buttons. they have one connect on the inside of the device.
That said, MS doesn't sell additional button/joystick devices, the point is you can plug in what you already have, but most people don't have anything, so this just comes off as scummy to me, not on purpose, but just by them trying to save money.
mount stands are included for a VARIETY of things, there's a standard tripod mount, a wheelchair mount, and then one other one I don't know what it's for.

the device is like half-baked. A lot of it is really well done. build quality is very good, the ability to remap buttons to other devices is nice, not having those devices and having to buy them separately is not.
