What I mean is, Miyamoto has a lot of sway on the overall approach to how Nintendo does business, even has input for console development. Koizumi as far as I'm aware of is just a game dev, he may have participated in shareholder meetings but to how much pull he has on the business we don't know yet. Nintendo was at 14.5 millions Switchs as of 31-12-2018. They'll definitely smash their new 17 millions target (which was really conservative). Slow and steady.

I think the problem is that they keep trying to force new ideas into Star Fox. Miyamoto said he didn't just want to 'just make a new Star Fox' for the Wii since he didn't have any ideas to pump into it.

Then when the game performs poorly, they blame Star Fox, rather than the crappy ideas forced into it.

They just need to make Star Fox into a big, cinematic, fun, space title with sharp controls. Make an actual campaign that lasts more than 2 hours. Add online multiplayer and split-screen play.

Nothing's gonna change dude. Bowser's just in charge of marketing the games in the west.

It doesn't have to be completely railshooter based. Making a railshooter that is 15+ hours is not feasable nor would it be fun, that genre is made to be arcadey and replayable. You would need a campaign with more varied objectives, but with a small railshooter thing on the side (kind of like how Guard was stapled onto Zero), or you can have railshooter levels in between certain objectives, but flesh them out more and make it a seperate mode after you beat the game, though obviously they would suffer from the issue of having no clear gameplay direction.

It is a fine balance, but if they want to sell the game for more then 30 or 40 then they have to acutally make it a title worth that. Outside of the annoying controls (which was a big problem considering it was a star fox game granted) Star Fox Zero was not that bad of a game, just overpriced for what it was
